Chicagoland Waterproofing

After canceling last minute on Friday they said they would come out on Saturday. Showed up at very end of appt window. Was told owner was coming - he did not. The guy had no idea what the issue was before coming even though I had explained it on the phone. He then tries to tell me the leak was from the window frame (it wasn’t) and the window well was in fact not a window well (below grade, in basement, & well outside?). He called the owner telling him wrong info. Owner was swearing and yelling back (on speakerphone) that he didn’t do that type of work. What a waste of time and now I’m a week behind trying to fix my window well. Oh, and he tracked mud all over the house.

Went well. Had to call them several times to come back and do some more work.

Excellent company to work with. Starting with the initial call from Marcus, who was also the HVAC technician, I haven't encountered a company in quite a while that handled the complete process of a full home humidifier installation in such a professional manner. Marcus took the time to explain all my options and is extremely knowledgeable in the HVAC trade. During one of our initial conversations I mentioned I needed a kitchen faucet installed also. Marcus contacted their plumber and the entire crew, including Gus the owner, were at my doorstep first thing the next day, 15 minutes earlier than scheduled! Both jobs were performed with excellent results. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for any HVAC or plumbing projects. A+

Couldn’t have gone better

I called Gus, the owner, that night before seeing if they were available. He promptly said yes, and would be there first thing in the morning. I ordered the tank online at Home Depot (they did offer to include the tank in their service), they picked it up, installed it and removed the old one. I had hot water by 10am. I am was happy with service, professionalism, and would recommend them.

The whole experience was great. They sent out a crew that was impressive in numbers so the job could get completed in a quick and timely fashion. We came across a few obstacles and the owner and team leader were very accommodating with coming up with a great solution on the fly. After the job was completed we needed a small repair to the wall waterproofing and they didn't hesitate to send someone right out to fix it. We have not had any additional water issues and we are in the process of scheduling the 2nd exterior garage to have the same work done this spring. Overall a great company.

They are responsive. You deal directly with the owner and he was prompt. Their price is also reasonable.

Gus was to come out and give me an estimate. When he was an hour late I called and he told me he had forgotten about it and would be out the next day..he was. I told him I wanted him to do the work, and the next day a girl from the office called to schedule the work for Thursday morning, and said they would be here between 8 & 9 AM. At 9:30 I called and Gus said she never told him she scheduled me. He said he could do it on Friday. When he gave me the estimate I asked if they would be draping off the other areas of the basement and he assured me that they would. When the men came to do the work I reminded then about the draping and they asked me if I had any plastic because they didn't have any. They did finally do a good job, but they could work on their professionalism.

Gus initially forgot about our initial appointment for an estimate. Then he had to reschedule the second one. That was frustrating, but we finally we met with another one of his employees, William. He thoroughly examined our crawlspace and gave us an estimate for waterproofing and concrete. We ended up hiring Perma-Seal to handle the waterproofing, but only because we had used them before and they owed us a fix due to problems they caused. We did hire Chicagoland to repair the concrete Perma-Seal removed to make their repairs though. It took some time to get through the permit process but that was mostly because of the city workers. We were not home during the framing setup or pour, but Gus always returned my calls to talk about what was being done each day. The concrete looks great. They even made the patio repair match the mosaic pattern that was existing. Overall we were happy we hired them.

Gus and his crew were very easy to work with, and completed this large job in a professional and expert manner. The nature of the work was messy, (digging the basement deeper so that drain tile, crused stone, and concrete could be installed ) but Gus and his crew were careful to keep the mess under control, and were quick to clear the debris. They were quick to identify and recommend the appropriate remedies such as the aqua membrane for our foundation walls, but they also pointed out things that I thought would be requried, that were not thus saving me money in the process. When we encountered issues with the plumbing and needed to call in additonal resources, Chicagoland worked very well with the other resources especially in terms of flexing their work schedule. I was very pleased with the final outcome of the work, and have received many favorable comments from other profressionals in terms of the quality of the work performed. I would not hesitate to recommend Chicagoland to my friends and family.
