They submitted a contract with all the work they would perform with the final price. We agreed to that contract. Here is all the items listed: Remove shingles in upper snow pocket remove metal flashing in upper snow pocket inspect and replace all bad wood at an additional cost of $55.00 per 8x4 1/2" CDX plywood or $4.00 per linear foot of 2 by--- board install ice and water sheild to entire snow pocket before installing new shingles with color to match as best as possible with existing shingles on roof remove siding on wall near the flat roof on front of house reflash wall with modified rubber bitumen re-install siding over newly flashed wall cap 3 windows with white aluminum capping install new metal in upper snow pocket (facia) remove all job related debris from premises $3450.00 An item I wanted done and was not listed was to caulk the attic furnace vent. This was done first. As work continued I was told that the siding didn't need to come off and the wall didn't need to be reflashed with the bitumen. We had a corner of missing siding that was fixed plus gaps were caulked. The price would be adjusted to reflect this. I ok'd this. When the work was completed I could see that the areas with the gaps and holes were covered in the roof and siding. They took off $1,000 which I thought was fair thinking that all they didn't do was the removal of siding and reflashing with the bitumen. It turns out that the only things from the contract that was done was: remove metal flashing in upper snow pocket, install new metal in upper snow pocket, caulk the attic vent, fixed the missing corner siding and caulked gaps in the siding that was adjacent to the flat roof, and cap 3 windows with white aluminum capping. The work done was to our satisfaction, but the price was too expensive for the work performed.
Description of Work: repaired areas of roof and siding that had gaps.

Response from C & R Home Improvements, Inc.
The day I came out to inspect the leak initially, i had seen a few problems that could have been causing the issue. Marcia had told me that a few other companies had came out to do inspections as well and told her they would replace the entire flat roof and never mentioned the snow pocket above at all. my opinion was, in order to get the leak to stop, both issues, the siding near the flat area, and the snow pocket above, would have to be handled. Which is what happened. When my brother and I got to the house to make a material list and proceed to do the work on the original contract, my brother (who has more experience than myself in finding and fixing these types of issues) stated that removing the siding and re-flashing the wall would not be necessary to fix the leak, nor would removing the shingles in the upper snow pocket. the main problem was due to multiple openings in the metal flashing in the snow pocket above. This was told to Marcia before we even left to get the material. i had explained that we would still stop her leak, and caulk the vent she had asked for and fix any other issues that we had run across, as well as cap the three windows. we verbally agreed on a change in the contract, which later was changed in pen on the contract and initialed by myself and Marcia, and the price was dropped by $1,000.00 the leak is fixed, we ended up doing less work due to a more trained eye when it comes to finding and fixing issues, the windows are capped and there was a $1,000 deduction in price.I received the check in the full amount of the job before we left that day. Marcia ok'd the work and had no complaints until she contacted me, because her husband who was out of town said that we had overcharged her. The price for two crews to come out and do the work that was performed would be the same for any other customer. That is our price. She could have chosen to not go ahead with the work and shop around a bit more. This was not a scam, this was our prices being agreed to and signed off on and paid in full, then being complained about after the fact. May I also point out that the work we did was satisfactory per Marcia Chester. That is stated on Angie's List by her, herself. We could have done the work that was on the original contract, even tho it was unnecessary and taken her money. That would have been unfair. What i did was save her $1,000 and fix her problem. What i did, in my opinion, was the right thing to do, the fair thing to do. Jeremy Ramsey

They were excellent. Brandon (don't remember his last name) was the best. He was the contractor for both jobs. Very professional, polite, competent, knowledgable. They did all the paper work with the insurance companies. If ever any more hail damage to our roofs, we will call them immediately.

Bret came to my house and gave me an estimate for siding and roof of house. His estimates were within the other bids I received, but in the end I decided on a different contractor. I would definitely call again for future consideration.

They over-promised and they under delivered. We are not happy. They still haven't completely billed our insurance company. We have physically put out of pockets that $11600, they have not submitted invoices in a timely manner with our insurance company or supplement the claim to our insurance company. They over-promised on the damage range amount who did the assessment following the hailstorm. Our supplement on insurance claim was denied because they said the damage was not as severe or the claim was not accurate. We have a very unusual shape of siding of our residence and the first representative that came out here and did the initial review and the documentation took a piece of the siding with him and it has not yet been returned. Do not listen to the promises and do your homework.

I wanted to support a local vendor so I chose Dave Anderson Construction. The salesman assured me Mr. Anderson was very conscientious about work being accomplished by his company and that he personally visits every worksite. Before any material was delivered, the contractor notified me the color was unavailable; and I needed to pick another color, which I did. The roofing material was delivered along with the dumpster and all of it was positioned in my driveway. I clearly informed the contractor that I had put a lot of work and money into the landscaping around the house and the workers needed to be careful not to damage it. The crew completed the work in one day at 9 pm. However, this is what happened during that day: the dumpster was not positioned on wood so the dumpster damaged my new driveway; the workers were careless when working around the landscaping and damaged/destroyed numerous expensive plants; roofing debris was strewn around the house and in the landscaping; cigarette butts were every where; nails and plastic buttons were left in the grass, on the deck, and on the porch. AND the wrong color roof was put on my house. Mr. Anderson never visited the worksite, nor did he follow up with the complete disaster his company left at my address. I did get a phone call from a manager apologizing for the poor performance, but I never heard from Mr. Anderson. I canceled the siding and gutter order and fired Dave Anderson Construction.
Description of Work: I contracted with Dave Anderson Construction to replace my roof, some gutters, and some siding after the recent hail storm. I picked a color for the roofing and the siding.
