Set up appointment for estimate and made no other plans on sat afternoon, but he never showed up. Did not contact me to tell me he was canceling nor did he respond to texts asking if he was coming. Ending up wasting time waiting. At least communicate if you are no longer coming.

Turned out great, repaired edges, and raised or dipped areas. They removed the old brick where repair was needed. Then flattened out the bad areas so patio and walk are now flat. They reused the old brick which kept the look we wanted. One thing they didn't do was replace edging but it appears most areas have support from old edging. They also re-sanded the whole patio and tamped down. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Juan (owner) is very easy to deal with and his crew know their work. Work was done quickly and timely.

I am a second time customer for Alvarez Brick Paving. 2 years ago they created a beautiful patio, that still looks like the day they completed the job. The front steps to my house were in horrible condition, so I reached out to Juan Alvarez again. As always, he did not disappoint, all I had to do was pick the stone. It took us almost 6 months of follow up to get this work scheduled. The service provider did not meet the requirements in terms of color and did not inform us that he will not be able to meet the color specs. Quality is ok but I would prefer to deal with a service provider who is more professional and keeps his commitments.

Alvarez Brick Paving replaced much of our brick driveway and front steps in July 2013. They did a very good job then and I wrote a review reflecting that. Today they came again to secure a few loose bricks in our front steps. All it took was an email to Juan Alvarez and he sent his guys to do the work without bothering us at all. We are most grateful that this company stands behind its warranty and does it in a prompt, professional way. So glad we had them do the work in the first place!

Juan Alvarez and his team did a great job. Our patio looks beautiful, and we get compliments on it all the time. The team was punctual, hard working, and highly skilled. I would recommend Alvarez Brick Paving to everyone.

The bricks in one stretch of a brick paver pathway in my back yard had lifted enough to be a trip hazard, and the edging material had become displaced enough to allow the pavers to separate in places, making it look very untidy. I had some doubts about calling Juan, since my house is somewhat outside his primary service area, but I discovered by calling around that very few other companies will repair paver installations that they did not put in. He reassured me that the distance would not be a problem, provided that I was prepared to pay a (reasonable) minimum charge, even for minor work. He came out promptly to look at the pathway, and we agreed on what needed to be done, and that he would call me a couple of days before he had a crew available to do the work, and that it would probably be done on a Saturday within the next two or three weeks. He was as good as his word and called me up a little over a week later to tell me that a crew would be with me on the Saturday which was coming up. The crew arrived first thing in the morning and got straight to work, completing all the work we had discussed by about 11:15 am. They took up the pavers in the area that had lifted, identified and removed the tree root that had caused the trouble, and replaced everything evenly; they also took up and realigned the pavers in the areas where they had separated. They replaced all the edging material with newer (and obviously better quality) material, and left everything tidier than they found it. I particularly appreciated their efforts to rake back the rather thin layer of scrubby grass which is all I have been able to grow along the edges of the path where they had to disturb it - a marked contrast to the compacted bare gravel the contractors who originally built the path left there!

Juan and his team are outstanding. My co-worker used his services and recommended him to me. He came out for the estimate, immediately understood our vision (something budget friendly but not square) pointed out the right material etc. for us, consulted on the proper size taking into consideration our lifestyle, overall yard size etc. The entire process was efficient, low pressure and overall very comfortable. The team showed up on time, got the project done within time and budget. They cleaned up so when I came home there was nothing else for me to do but enjoy our beautiful new patio. I have already recommended the team to 2 of my friends and will definitely continue to do so.

When we moved into our home 2 years ago, we already knew we needed to repair the front walkway and side walkway that had settled unevenly over the years. The side walkway would collect pools of water next to the house (causing potential harm to the foundation) and it was difficult to push our child's stroller to the garage because it was so uneven. Juan was very responsive and professional since our first phone conversation. He was punctual for our initial meeting and didn't try to oversell us on the repair. He was able to get his crew out for the job in 2 weeks after this first meeting (whereas estimates from other companies were looking at about 4-6 weeks out). It took his crew two days to complete the job. The first day they removed the existing pavers (we were reusing them, not purchasing new ones), re-leveled the walkways with gravel base and sand, and then began the process of re-installing the pavers. On the second day, they finished re-installing the pavers, making sure everything was level. They power-washed the pavers after everything was installed. Since we decided to power-wash the pavers last minute, they came back the next morning (technically day 3) and finished up the project with a polymeric sand layer on top. It was a complete transformation from what we originally had. We are definitely very happy with the finished project. The added bonus to working with this company is that Juan provided us with a 5 year warranty even though this was just a repair job. The estimates I received from other companies did not provide this for a repair, only for a new installation. We would definitely use Alvarez Brick Paving for any future paving needs and we would highly recommend them.

I had one loose paver on a porch step and needed the step to be filled with sand again. Juan said he would have to charge $275.00 because he had to send out a truck. I thought this was high but I understand this was a very small job for them. They fixed it but a few days later another brick came loose. I called Juan and they came out and fixed that. Then a few days later another brick came loose. They came out and fixed that also with no additional expense to me. And so far so good - all seems good.

Juan and his group of installers did a fantastic job installing Unilock brick pavers for our front walkway! Overall, it was a quick and easy process. We called Alvarez Brick Pavers on a Saturday and the job was completely finished by Friday the following week. Juan was quick to answer all of our questions and handled all of the details from start to finish. He was honest and projessional. We will most likely have Juan replace our aging front stoop and steps in the near future. We highly recommend Juan and his company!

Juan responded quickly to our initial inquiry and provided a competitive quote in a very timely manner. He also had a few design ideas to finalize the design my wife envisioned. What was truly refreshing is that Juan was just as responsive in addressing all our questions and returning messages left. I'm really happy with the work. We got quotes from Juan and two other larger, more established contractors on the list. We went with Juan because of his good feedback and significantly lower price. The patio turned out great. It's not a big project but it looks like something from a paver catalog. The other contractors pointed out that they excavate to 8 inches and use a more expensive sand, but Juan did the same thing. He and his crew are nice guys too. I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again.

We really needed a new patio! Our existing patio was very old and was slanting toward the house. We thought we could only afford a concrete patio so we called many places for quotes. We called Jaun Alvarez and he was professional from the first contact. He looked at our patio and explained to us what was possible with our budget. He recommended pavers and gave us really nice options that we never even considered. He helped us with the perfect color and recomended a border (that I love!). We had an air conditioner in the area, Juan and his crew were willing to actually lift it and pave underneath at no extra cost, so when we do move it, it will look just as beautiful as the rest of the patio. He was the only company that would do this. He was knowledgable and the price was fair. We had our daughter's birthday party coming up and we really were hoping for the patio to be completed! Juan really tried to accomodate this with his busy schedule. This job took two days. They arrived on time. They were friendly and hard-working. We had our patio in two days as discussed, just in time for our party! Juan visited the sight many times during the process to make sure things were right. He also was available by e-mail for any questions or concerns. He was extremely professional. It looks great! It was a complete transformation! My neighbors keep coming over and complimenting us on the work. We would highly recommend this company to anyone having a patio installed!
