Thinking about hiring ADK? PLEASE read my review- My goal is to warn others about the ethics and integrity of Alliance Disaster Kleenup (ADK In initial interactions, I met with one of the owners, Justin Tubero. Justin assured me that his “one-stop shop” would provide mitigation, clean up and storage of salvageable belongings, and the completed reconstruction of my home in a timely manner. . • Was told I would only be out of my home for 4-6 months. I was actually displaced for 11 months. • Building Permit was supposed to take 1-6 weeks. After 6 weeks, I finally called the county department myself and was told that ADK’s PM continually brought in the wrong paperwork. • Permit was finally received after 4 months. (16 weeks). • After the permit was finally issued my home sat empty for several weeks. The excuse? I was told that they were stretched thin due to all the homes affected by the flooding that had happened. Wait…What….. MY house fire was on May 4th so how did they take precedence? First project manager –“No longer with the company”. • Enter Project Manager # 2 • The Scope of Work, which is the very detailed contract of the repairs agreed upon by insurance company and ADK was not being followed. I found myself having to be at the house almost daily with contract in hand to question why things were not being done according to the agreed upon contract. Unfortunately, I constantly felt like because I was a female living here they thought they could sneak things past me and “she would never know”. • One egregious example. All the ceilings in my ranch home were to be replaced (agreed upon in the scope of work). It was an attic fire (electrical) and several fire hoses were put through the vents in my roof. Water was streaming down like a waterfall on the main floor-get the picture? Obvious repairs were done where the ceilings collapsed but I would estimate over ½ the house’s ceilings were not replaced- ceilings already primed and painted (finished). • On one of my visits to the house I started seeing nail pops everywhere in the ceilings- I called the PM, ADK’s response was to screw up the ceiling drywall (obviously water damaged and coming down) that had already been primed and painted (finished work). If I had not questioned the work, the water damaged ceilings would have been left up as “replaced” and the company would have received monies from my insurance company for replacing all the ceilings. If I was not physically on location, daily, to point out the missing work, it seemed it would not get done. • Deadline after deadline was missed. • Inspection after inspection failed. • Subcontractors did not show up and were ultimately fired. • When ceilings were finally pulled down it was discovered that an entire bedroom had not received ANY attic insulation. • Had to have the second PM’s boss finally come out to the house to see the lack of progress and all the “shoddy and verge of fraudulent” work that was being done and scope of work not being followed. • Theft. There was theft going on inside and outside of my locked home. • Subcontractor had his Makita boom box taken from a locked house. ADK and their subcontractors were the only ones with a key. • Packages and boxes left on the front step were blatantly opened, items went missing- a Amazon box was opened on my front porch and the Firestick removed. Lived here 11 years and had no theft prior to this and have not had any theft after I returned. • Stored -alcohol that the company themselves had packed up/stored in boxes had been opened and some of the contents taken. • Garage fridge which serves as my beverage cooler- including alcohol was taken. • Due to the theft-I felt I had to purchase two Ring spotlight cameras so I could monitor the activities in and around my home when I could not be there. • 8 months after initial contract was signed, I was given a Schedule of Completion, outlining when certain tasks would be completed, such as insulation installation, drywall, taping, etc. • 5 deadlines of completion were promised to me. Not one was met. • Move in day. 11-months after I was displaced, I was able to move back in. AFTER all furniture, boxes, miscellaneous was moved back in, I did the final walk around. I noticed several large gouges and numerous scratches everywhere on the new hardwood flooring. • The flooring sub-contractor came in, reviewed all the damage from ADK movers, and told me that there was so much damage that the floor had to be redone all over; sand, stain, poly. ALL the furniture had to be moved back out AGAIN. • I “lived” in my house for 2 weeks after my floors were repaired with only my bedroom furniture and a stool in the kitchen • After repeatedly being told (lied to) that all the vents had been replaced on my roof, I climbed the ladder to my roof ( I’m a 59 year old woman -double knee replacement ) to find out that the less expensive turtle types had been replaced but the more expensive roof mount power attic fan had not. You could still see the dents from the firefighter’s boots when they stomped it back into the hole that they ripped it out of. • 2nd Project Manager “no longer with the company” • Enter Project Manager # 3- I was notified of a schedule and it was finally adhered to. 11 months of my life were wasted on a company who promised me back my home and delivered, ultimately, a **** show. I was completely stressed, traumatized and left feeling hopeless throughout the process. The reconstruction ended up being more traumatizing than the fire itself!!!!!!!!!!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR ANY REASON- Consumer BEWARE!!!!!!!!

Over the summer my basement flooded. Disaster cleanup came out a few days later, cut most of the drywall, removed most of the flooring, and dried what they had cut. When they were “finished” I asked does this take care of everything, or should i be worried about this becoming a future problem?” They assured me that everything was fine. I then asked them for a quote to put down new tile and replace the missing drywall. About a month later I heard back! The quote came in at $20,000. I received quotes from 2 other companies. One came in at $4,500 and the other $4,000. Thats no small difference! As one of the other companies went through renovating the basement, they noticed a handful of places where mold was growing. I called Disaster Cleanup and informed them that I wasn’t pleased with the fact mold had been found in a handful of different ares. Their reply was!: “If they are taking care of it, then what is it you need from us” in a very snide way. Enough said. If I paid $6,000 to do a job and now Im paying someone else to finish the job then what did I pay you for in the first place? Disaster then sent out Bill to look at the work the next day. We went around and pointed out all of the areas and he said that one of the guys “was younger and they would use this for training purposes.” He was pretty defensive in general and said certain areas they generally dont remove where mold had grown but other areas he didnt provide much of a response on. He then agreed to finish the areas that the other company hadn’t already fixed but wasn’t willing to compensate the other company for their work which was a measly $310 dollars. Im not a mold expert but if a disaster cleanup crew is coming fix damage caused by flooding, then shouldn’t the quote include getting rid of the mold? Do yourselves a favor, dont let the packaging fool you, they are a rip off and the irony is all it took was an extra $300 for another company to find these problems. Stay away! I included a few pictures and each one had been affected by mold. 5 different areas!

The initial process was great. They removed all of our items and were great about setting up meeting times and being prompt. They were open to our ideas of what we needed to get done and what we wanted to get done. Alliance alos helped navigate the insurance process where possible. The reconstruction felt really slow - it took about 2-3 months. We do not know what is normal however in a case such as ours. Overall, they did an okay job, just not an amazing job. The details of the construction isn't great - we find tile chipped in places, baseboards not fully joined to the walls, dirt and grime where things should be cleaned, etc. We recently found chards of tile and a lot of dust in almost all of our air vents when the HVAC was supposed to be cleaned. One of the most frustrating things however is small items that we did not manually catalog our selves - kitchen items mainly - just never made it back to us. Some of them may have been thrown away due to not being safe after the fire but we dont have any documentation to help clarify. Alliance was supposed to come by one last time to fix small things and never showed - my guess is because the insurance claim had been completed.
Description of Work: We had a fire at my in-laws house and Alliance was our vendor we found through our insurance agent. They removed, cleaned and stored all of our belongings. They also repaired and improved our house - including cleaning, painting, re-dry walling and added enhancements we wanted such as hard wood throughout.

They were great. They came in, clean up all the water, cut out the dry wall that was damaged, tore up the hard floor that was damaged, put the humidifiers in. First of all, they faxed everything and told us what they had to do. They put all the dryers in. Everything that was destroyed, they took it and carded it away and got rid of it for me. They carried everything up into my garage out of my basement. They were very professional. They were very nurturing and understanding in terms of things that I wanted to save and the things that I did not want to save. They worked with me in terms of my insurance. They were very reasonable. The key in these situations is not to have mold grow and you want to make sure that you get rid of all the of damaged stuff and do this as cost effectively as possible.
Description of Work: Our basement, laundry room, wine cellar and bathroom had flooded with 3 inches of water and Alliance Disaster Kleenup helped us with that.

My condo bldg had a clogged pipe that backed up dirty water in my lower level living area. I was quite distressed but ADK took care of everything in a most professional manner. The crew came quickly and began extracting the water and drying out the area with fans and heaters. Someone came daily to check on the humidity levels and they left the equipment in place until everything was unquestionably dry. After the dry out, ADK bid for the insurance contract to repair and replace the damaged areas. They replaced floors, moldings, carpeting, tiles and painted top to bottom. There was always someone to answer my questions. The project was handled efficiently, with someone working onsite once the repair phase began until it was done. No days of 'no show' with lame excuses as I have experienced in the past. Having this sort of damage is overwhelming but due to ADK's knowledge, reassurance, and expertise, my level of anxiety lessened every day until suddenly the job was done and everything looked great.
Description of Work: emergency water mitigation in lower living area was the reason for their call. I was so impressed with their work that after the area was dry I gave them the contract for the replacement and repair work as well.

These guys were phenomenally good, even the insurance adjuster was commenting on how good they were! They are very process oriented and know what the issues are. We went from a total disaster situation in our basement to within 24 hours having it dry as the Sahara. They are vertically integrated and have carpenters, electricians, etc. to do all the work to put it back the way it was. They use a computerized system and were able to show the adjuster where every dime was going to be spent. The people there have great attitudes and I can't say enough good things about them! When they were through it was better then new.
Description of Work: We had a sump system back up with a heavy rain 2 or 3 months ago.

Justin, the field supervisor, came the next day for estimate after my initial inquiry. He spent approximately an hour, did detailed measurements and listened to my questions and concerns. Next time he came with a proposal and we finalized the proposal over the email because of scope changes. After the contract was signed, the work started fairly quickly. Scott, the production manager, and Justin kept me in the loop on the scheduling of work. I felt comfortable calling them asking a question or requesting a change. They are very good at responding to customers' needs. Three separate crews did three parts of the project, and all of them did great work. Scott stopped by on a Saturday, one of the days crew was working, and checked with us on work performed. While collecting the final payments, Justin also did a measurement on our siding per our request. We definitely love to have them do other projects for our house.
Description of Work: Alliance did my entire roof and gutter system replacement, and second floor aluminum wrapping of soffit and fascia, adding new soffit vents. Roof uses Timberline 30 Architectural shingle. They use all quality materials. Roofing material was delivered to our home before the work.
