Be careful if you even think of hiring ACOA, and if you do,go over every single line with your attorney. Jason the owner will cut every corner and make every promise, just to get your job. They will "wing your job' on site without using proper architectural drawings. They will cover up old floors and old rotted walls with drywall. The floors they laid for our dental office are not even and now we have to have them re-leveled to prevent people from tripping and hurting themselves. ACOA had cut so many corners for our office to make their bid as low as possible. After bringing in another contractor I have learned how bad of a job they really did. They nickel and dime every aspect of the job and they will use the cheapest materials to put the biggest profit in their own pockets they could! The allowances that they give are a joke, be careful and do your homework with ACOA. There are so many better contractors out there, just ask your dental or medical suppliers who are the best to use. They built our dental office and misread there own non-architectural plans. In our reception area they misread and calculated their plans by over two feet. Upon addressing their mistake and asking them to redo what they had done wrong, they wanted our office to pay $9000 extra to redo their mistake. Because of their mistake we do not have a sufficient check out area for handicapped patients. Talking about handicapped patients, they tried to connect two hallways that one you could not even get a wheel chair past. We had to argue with them to open up one area an extra 8 inches to allow for wheel chair accessibility. Their cabinet makers build cabinets that are no better than the ones you can get at Menards or Home depot. Jason will tell you they are the best, but trust me, at the best they are just average. They charge you like they are high end cabinets, but frankly they are nothing but fancy cheap laminate cabinets. ACOA gave allowances for cabinets in all the operatories and then later tried to increase the charge almost $1500 more than what they quoted for. As far as promises to complete the Job, this too was a joke. ACOA was 6 months over the promise finish date and left our office upon leaving each day with dust and dirt throughout. My recommendation before you even think about using ACOA 1) Talk to your dental suppliers, there are several construction teams out there. 2) If ACOA does give you a bid, check each line item over, not once but 4-5 times and then do your home work with cost. 3) Make sure you use a architect and make sure you pull permits, ACOA used neither in my job. 4) If you use ACOA, make sure your money is on a tight draw, and make sure they complete any work they say they are going to do. This company wants their money before what they say they are going to do is done. Overall, I wish I never used ACOA, they were good in one thing, not keeping their word!

I set up a meeting with these guys for office renovation. to make a long story short 1) Unprofessional/ they left without talking to me 2) they don't listen to what I need, they want to do it their way to make more work, more money 3) Their price quote is 60% higher than the closest quote I received. I think they just assume that you sit on a pile of money and you are not going to price shop. They pick and choose their project on the basis of appearance and income. It did not appear to me that they were interested in my business because I wanted to save money. Their strategy didn't work on me. I used 2 other contractors for quotes and realized how much of a scam these guys are.
