Our overall experience with AB Edwards was good. We had significant ice damming which occurred due in part to a low pitch roof, the preceding winter. Leaks began occurring following the winter and Ben from AB Edwards came out a number of times in an attempt to repair the affected areas and find the source of the leak. We appreciated that when other roofers werent even returning calls, let alone willing to do a repair (vs. replacement), he was working with us to solve the problem and try to save us some money. In the end, due to the extensive leaks, we opted to replace half of our roof. Ben was wonderful to work with and helped the process to move smoothly. We would definetely consider using AB Edwards again in the future.

We requested a quote to replace our cedar siding with Hardi board as the woodpeckers have been destroying the exterior of our home. The AB Edwards representative Chris came out on time, was very punctual, professional and friendly. He walked the exterior with us, did measurements and discussed design ideas with us. After about an hour and a half he finished his tasks and said he would get a quote to us either at the end of that week or early the following. That was the last we heard from him. I sent a follow up email on June 26th and was told "Let me see what happened". Again no response. I then emailed again on July 1st and was tole "We are working on it". That was the last I ever heard from them. I emailed again on August 11th and have never received a reply. Very disappointing that this company with so many good reviews would have such terrible communication. I said I would use this provider in the future solely based on the reviews of their work. I cannot hold a whole company responsible for the actions of one employee. Perhaps if they provided me with a quote my reviews may change... Update: AB Edwards and Chris contacted me and was very apologetic for the issue I was having. Chris explained the issue that had occurred with my quote and promptly came out to meet with me and rectify the issue. I received my quote soon thereafter and received a follow up apology call. All individuals I dealt with were professional and responsive. This has helped change my opinion of the company.

They did outstanding work. Highly recommended.

Reroofing and gutters went smooth and workmanship was of good quality. Trim work took a while longer to schedule however finished before end of season. Final results were very good overall.

Quality and professional are the two words that best describe AB Edwards. I just spent over $18,000 with them for downspouts, gutters, new roofs on house, detached garage and attached garage. They also rebuilt my chimney. It was a lot of money but Andy, Marcin and their team were so professional and true craftsmen. Marcin and I kept in contact over 5 months because the polar vortex didn't allow them to work. They were also very conscientious of the weather this spring so they weren't working in any rain. I'm so glad I went with them. Their prices were comparable to other companies I contacted. I have the most stunning roof in the neighborhood I must say.

On their web site it says free proposal for replacement work ... When I asked for someone to give me a proposal to replace a roof i was told that there was a charge and that the proposal was free only if they would get the job ... This is not a free proposal ... their web site is not truthful.

The services turned out good and We would use them again in the future.

Pricing is always fair, as Andy was always a pleasure to work with and a trustworthy vendor. I will use his company again and again.

We received 4 quotes for our roof project. A.B. Edward came in at the second highest price point but we decided to go with them because of their reputation and reviews here on Angie's List. The project went as smoothly as could be expected with a 100+ year old house. Communication was great from start to finish and we enjoyed working with Erik. A.B. Edward worked with our neighbor because much of the mess ended up in their yard. The workers worked hard, long hours and did an excellent job cleaning up. We also liked that A.B. Edward doesn't use sub-contractors. The roof looks great, we are happy with quality of the work, and we would definitely use A.B. Edward for future projects.

I was very impressed by Greg the contractor sent to repair my roof. He arrived on time. We discussed the repairs required by my inusrance compsany, he made sure I understood the cost. He completed the whole roof inspection and repairs in less time than I had expected. The cost was less than I had budgeted for. In addition he showed me another potential issue by taking pictures on his ipad. Since I am not likely to climb on to the roof anytime in this century his heads up will save me a majot problem in the near future. All my dealings with the company have been pleasant, professional and timely. Would definitely recommend.

Everything went exceedingly well from start to finish. Erik presented a professional estimate with drawings and answered all questions and concerns. Their estimate was fair, not the most expensive and not the least expensive. He supervised the work daily. Workmen cleaned up the area upon completion of work. They carted away debris daily so I didn't have to have a dumpster which is frowned upon by our Owner's Association. There were no surprises in the final billing AND they included a stamped return envelope....a nice touch! I would definitely use them again and have recommended them to my friends and neighbors.

I had a "storm chaser" come to my door and try to convince me that I had storm damage and would work with my insurance company to get them to pay for it. I called A.B. Edwards to get their opinion. They came out and explained to me why the insurance company would not agree with such a claim. The salesman then took measurements to give me an estimate to replace the roof. A week later he delivered a very professional looking estimate. Although I could not afford it at that time, I told hime I would consider them in the future.

I was very pleased with them. They were willing to do the job that was a little pretty high up and they did excellent work. I would recommend them for that. They were there when they said they were going to be there. It was a very pleasant experience. I had no problems with them at all. They actually sent photographs and I couldn’t see because it was so high up. I knew what they were going to do and that was before I asked them for that.

What an amazing company! This is the second time that Andy and his guys have come out within hours of receiving our call, identified the leak in question, and repaired it on the same day! Both leaks had some unique issues due to shoddy work performed by another roofer but this didn't seem to phase these guys. Awesome! And on the second visit, they cleaned out my back roof gutters without being asked! Sweet! (It saved my husband a weekend trip up the ladder! Thank you!) AB Edwards will definitely be on my go to list again if/when my roof springs its next leak!

Very pleased with this company. They were very easy to work with, came out as scheduled, cleaned up completely. The crew had a very good work ethic. The warranty was great and the price very competitive.

The project overall went very well. Ralph came to speak with us to introduce us to the company. He explained their procedures, sourcing of their products, assisnment of teams. When the work began, they stayed out of our way as much as was possible. They cleaned the driveway each night and spent extra time cleaning when the roof project was completed. They stayed late on a saturday to finish the deck, even applying stain. During the roof project, they had to replace two skylights. This also invovled interior work and painting, which they also did for us. They discovered that one of the skylights was not installed perfectly, so they redid that work with no issue. I could not be more satisfied with the work and work ethic of AB Edward.

Since we were in desperate need of a new roof, we took the chance on having the roof done in winter as opposed to spring in hope that we may get to take advantage of the mild weather and possibly some discounts. Once we narrowed down a few referals from friends we started contacting and setting appoitments. Needless to say after 2 no shows and 1 " take out a second mortgage " quote and 1 other, We elected to have A.B.Edward remove our old roof and install our new. The sales rep was knowledgeable and didn't try to sell us on "how great they were". He just explained everything with great detail regarding their licensing, products they would install, what to expect and detailed proposal. With the weather working on our side, they came out as scheduled and all work was performed neatly and just as specified on our contract. Surprisingly the removal and installation of our new roof went smoothly and was completed in the time schedule provided by our sales rep. A thorough clean up and all debri was removed prior to me even making final payment. We have done many projects at our home with other "professionals", This time they trutly were. We are very pleased with our roof and would reccomend A.B.Edward again.

They did a great. I would definitely recommend them to others!

I called them because water was entering my house when it rained through the walls!! They came out 3 times to check everything before starting and to remeasure. They arrived every morning at 7 am promptly, took short lunches, and worked until 4 or 5pm. My house was so poorly built initially. It is only 20 years old and had no weather wrap, the insulation was helter skelter and incontiguous, no flashing was present on any of the house which caused some of the framing to rot out. Thank you Chicago Building department for passing this upon inspection. I hope it was worth it to you. So every time they peeled off another layer they found a mess and the job ended up taking a bit longer and a bit more money to correct properly. They even set up my downspouts for rain barrels These guys did such a fantastic job!!! They were worth every penny. The skylights now open electrically and my entire house stays much cooler because of it. We did vinyl shingles on the house and garage facing the backyard. Now it feels like a country cottage in the middle of the city. We did fiber cement on the garage so the troubled ones in the neighborhood cannot set my garage on fire ( they have set other garages on fire before). Everything looks beautiful and works great. Neighbors are all giving compliments. Do not hesitate to call them for work!

I had hail damage from a storm that A.B. Edward Enterprises repaired for me.

They did an outstanding job at a great price. I give them the highest ratings across the board. They beat a very good competitor by almost $1800 in the estimate. I talked to the competitor and he wondered how they could do it, but they did it. They did a very good job. Their price was extremely good. They did a relatively good job cleaning up. It wasn't perfect but you have to understanding that a roofing job is a mess. They were professional and kept their word. It was good value. They came the day when they said they would. They took a little longer than they wanted to, and took an extra day, but they said that they wanted to do it right. We have some siding that needs to be replaced and I am going to use them.

Excellent company, very professional, timely and efficient.

We obtained estimates from three other companies for the masonry work, all of which were much higher than A.B. Edward. One was twice the amount of A.B. Edward's estimate. We chose A.B. Edward to perform the work because we had used them three years earlier to replace our roof, and we had a very favorable experience. Their masonry work was excellent. They arrived exactly when they said they would, and the crew was very polite and professional. The work was completed on time, they cleaned up the mess as they worked, and the exterior masonry looks great. We have had no further problems with leaks. The work on our garage was likewise completed on time with no problems. The inside of our garage looks great now.

Everything turned out excellent with this company. They are really a top notch company. I would use this company again.
