Everything went well once we were able to coordinate the service date and time.

I have to say that things were off to a rocky start with DFC. I didn't actually get a call after purchasing the coupon but rather, had to call to get a service scheduled. On the scheduled day, Dan contacted me around 8:30am to notify me that they'd be a little late because of a problem with one of their truck. No problem as I was told to expect someone by 10:30 at the latest. Well, 11:30 comes around and no one was here. Another call to Dan and finally someone arrived a bit after 12pm... So far, the experience was not so good. This is where John comes in and honestly completely changed my initial perception of DFC. Not only was John patient but obviously understood the intricacies of older homes and was able to help a solve a problem that 2 other electricians could not. He identified the problem, suggested a solution and came back today. He came up with a much better solution that would solve my needs all the while ensuring an aesthetically pleasing outcome. I will rate my experience with the service based on John. He was fantastic, attentive, polite and pretty funny. Solely based on this, I will definitely use DFC and John again. To DFC, please do whatever you can to keep John. He is a huge asset to your firm and has represented you well

I tried to contact the company by phone and e-mail and both methods of communication were unavailable (website e-mail came back undeliverable and phones were not responding).

They're very prompt in giving us a quote and that was good. It turned out that we needed some different equipment and it had to be change afterwards. So they work different than what we expected. They're good in responding and they gave the another quote pretty quick.

Job went very well. They scheduled the work promptly, arrived on time and performed the work within the estimated time. The 2 people were friendly and professional. They went beyond my expectations and I was very happy with the result and value.

First, I called 2 other electricians on Angie's List. One never called back and the other quoted a service fee of $85 for showing up, $45 for gas to get there and then an additional $20 every 15 minutes over the first hour. All to complicated for a light bulb in a china hutch that needed to be replace. Rob answered right away and quoted a flat price over that was more that reasonable and said he could be here within 2 hours. He came in check the wires and told me something I never knew that is right on the halogen light package "do not touch bulb with your hands". He asked for a paper town and inserted the new lights (after checking the wiring of course) and the lights came on not problem. I also asked him about some other overhead display lighting thinking we had touched those bulbs too. He checked the wiring and those wires were fine too, so we can get new bulbs for those. As I got out my check book, Rob said, don't worry about it, just call us again. I will!! I will recommend DFC Electricians to everyone I know. They were great and give electricians a good name!! Thanks for all your help!!

John, from DFC Mechanical called to let me know he was running 15 minutes late. Arrived with an apprentice, Steven, and the first thing they did was put coverings over their shoes! The we headed for the bedroom. John, immediately noticed the quality of the ceiling fan, commenting that not many people purchase such quality. He was also please to see that the electrical box in the ceiling was the appropriate fan box. There are 3 wall switches in this room and John tested all the switches and lines so he knew which lines to use for the fan. John, explained what he was doing and why to both me and the apprentice, much to my appreciation. Beautiful job completed and then he showed me how the wall switch worked in conjunction with the remote. He made sure everything was working perfectly. Then we headed for the master bath and whirlpool. Within 3 minutes John had the fault interrupter switch replaced and tested the whirlpool. It was working great. Both John and Steven clean up what little mess there was and thanked me for their opportunity to help me! I have a few other jobs to consider in the future and DFC Mechanical will be the first call for a quote!

We have a vaulted ceiling in our main room and when the fan went in it, we really needed a professional to help us out. Dan was fast to respond to phone calls and we were able to make an appointment very shortly after the initial contact. Dan was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. He phoned in advance to let me know he was on his way so I could run local errands and still be home for his arrival. He removed the old fan and replaced it with a new one. It's hard work installing such a large fan in a vaulted ceiling. I felt he earned every penny! My beautiful large fan is working wonderfully and my main room is much more pleasant.

John trobleshooted the receptable & determined there was no power to the outlet. He suspected that the conduit feeding this outlet was buried in the concrete slab & that the wires within the conduit had become corroded & were not providing any power to the outlet. To fix the problem, John ran a new electrical feed from another nearby outlet in our adjoining utility room that still had power. He intalled a new electric box with a brand new receptacle. He ran the new feed giving prime consideration to its placement so that we would not have to patch or repaint the affected area. He covered the old non-working outlet with a blank cover. John & Stephen were very helpful, courteous & answered all of our questions. They left the workplace clean. Everyting is working great now. Definately would use their service again.

No response to 2 Angie's List messages sent 8/29/13 and 10/4/13. Email sent to address on company web site bounced. Very fast and thorough replies once mistake (lack of reply to me) was recognized. Dan also adjusted profile. I would use them again.

We had them replace a ceiling fan in the living room and kitchen. We had a 2 hour coupon. They were able to replace the living room ceiling fan. They could not replace the kitchen ceiling fan because of wires that didn't work in the attic. We scheduled another appointment for them to fix the wires in the attic and replace kitchen ceiling fan. We were very happy with their service and will use them again

Robert and his associate were quick to schedule, punctual and completed the work and clean up quickly. They called when they were on the way to confirm the job, which was professional. The price was easily discussed and very reasonable. He updated an additional switch that was in the same box and corroded.

A handyman had fixed it the day before.....it worked fine for the bathroom light and exhaust fan but when we tried to use the electrical fixtures later in the day in the adjacent bedroom...none of them had power. I was present at the time the handyman fixed it. It took him more than an hour to "fix" it. Apparently it was wired in a complex way since there were 10 to 12 wires inside the box. I realized the switch needed a professional electrician to do it right. I looked up for an electrician in Angies List and found DFC Mechanical had an A rating and also had a coupon for 2 hours for $89. I called their number and Robert answered. He was already in the neighborhood so he said he could stop by the same afternoon. Robert showed up on time and fixed it for me. He volunteered to look at the power panel and said everything looked fine. Everything is working great. Robert and his assistant Sammy worked very efficiently for more than an hour since they had to undo some of the connections previously made. All in all it is working perfectly now. Robert is very knowledgeable.

The initial process of obtaining the generator and delivery took much longer than expected. If we had not received a recommendation for DFC we might have went elsewhere. With patience and persistence, the final product is very good. Dan's crew is highly qualified and very attentive to details. As the project came to a close we actually hired Dan & his crew to do more than we originally had planned. We felt that after seeing their work on the main project that they were well qualified to do additional electrical work. We were pleased with the results.

John came out first and inspected job site, prepared estimate and offered 10% discount for using Angie's List. (This discount was greater than the two hours of electrical work I had prepaid on Angie's List website.) Once the transfer switch was ordered, John came back to install it and route the circuits in one day. He also purchased materials and made a 25 foot cord to hook up the portable generator to the system. Later on I had a power outage of my AC unit. It was because of a blown fuse, not a result of any faulty workmanship. Dan Foss and John promptly responded to my calls for help and offered to return free of charge if the AC unit did not work properly after replacing the fuse. The service was prompt and courteous and I will use DFC Mechanical again if I need any further electrical work done. I also purchased an extended warranty on the transfer switch. If we decide to install a permanent natural gas generator in the future, we will most likely hire DFC to install the gas lines and upgrade the electrical system.

Totally unprofessional! They were to come first on 9/26 and finally called and said they were so busy with Angie's List coupon and one house was taking longer that he would not come make it that day. He rescheduled for Saturday, two days later at 8:30 promising I was the first one. At 9:10 I called him and said you were to be here at 8:30 and what happened. His response was "I knowwwwwww, I'll be there in one hour. I told him I did not appreciate him treating me this way and I no longer would use him for that reason. Two no shows is enough. He tried to call my home 5 times in a row. I had to block his number to stop the calls. Then within 15 minutes he showed up knocking at my door which I did not answer. If i hear or see them again i will call the police. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! In regards to your response..what a joke you are. Also no one sent me a text or offered anything free..I would never have accepted anything from you and it doesn't make you sound any better trying to lie over it.

They replaced a light and installed a ceiling fan. They did a great job once they arrived, but getting them here was tricky. They didn't show up the first time for our scheduled appointment. When we contacted them to reschedule they set another time to come. The 2nd time they did not arrive at their scheduled time. We waited an hour an contacted the company and they sent someone out. Therefore, they almost stood us up twice. But, the electrical work was completed.

The two gentlemen came - introduced themselves - smiled - did the job efficiently and had me check their work and showed me how it worked and left. Good work

It went well, but there was a scheduling error on their part. They owned up to the mistake and provided some extra time for no charge.

As expected

Dan and his team were professional, clean, courteous, and very attentive to detail. They installed our new whole-house generator exactly as contracted, have been back to check on it (no issues of course, just being thorough), and included a year's monitoring that wasn't even part of the original contract. Dan and his crew went way beyond the agreed job whenever they were concerned there could be an issue. As an example, I have been worried since we moved in about how my two panels were wired. Dan's guys went through both panels, checked everything, re-labeled breakers, and took time to explain to me why the panels were originally set up this way. From the beginning, Dan and team put our mind at ease that we were making an intelligent decision on the generator and using a trustworthy firm that would do the job right. This was just one example of the way they did a great and thorough job. We were/are very happy with the results.

Both guys that turned up were very helpful. They did exactly what I wanted them to do and I would use them again.

It worked out just fine. They were professional. They were very accommodating. There were a couple of things that I just added to the list from what I'd originally said, they were very good about and very easy to work with. I'd work with them again. The price was very reasonable.

Rob and John were very professional and courteous. They assessed the work quickly and came up with creative ideas on how the job would look when finished. This was tricky because I needed the cabling to run in rigid pipe and under my walkway and nearly 50 feet to the fountain. They worked it out quickly and made solid suggestions on how the install would keep my landscapers from cutting the cable - as has happened repeatedly in the past. Used an instant Coupon for a portion of the work.

DFC took my call immediately and took the time to listen and discuss the work we wanted done. We were able to get an appointment a few days later. We had some questions later that day and called back and DFC returned our call within a couple hours that evening. We felt the communication and response was excellent! They arrived about 45 min. late from scheduled appointment. But, once they started working everything went very well. They were very thorough in their inspection of the deck lights and what needed to be done to fix them. They also explained what they were going to do and why in detail and set to work. They were very professional. In the near future, we also want to replace the light fixtures on our detached garage and want them to be motion activated. They explained how this could be done and recommended size of fixtures - which we'll purchase ourselves. We had not purchased the $89 coupon, but they gave us the deal anyway! We were very pleased and would gladly have them back to do any future electrical work in our home.
