I contacted DFC when there had been a sudden loss of electricity in my kitchen. I noticed an issue originally with my refridgerator light being very dim. When I hit the door switch that controled the light, the light turned back on. I started smelling wires cooking and turned around to see smoke coming out of my stove. I immediately removed the plug from the stove. At that point, every outlet in my kitchen did not work. The fuse box was tripped but flipping the switch did not work. Being this is above my head, I went to Angies list for an electrician. I contact DFC and left a message on Monday at about 6:30 pm. I received a call back within a half hour asking for information on my problem and to schedule an appointment. The following day a gentleman called from DFC to arrange a time to come out. They arrived at my house and quickly diagnosed the issue being that my stove caused the neutral line to be blown. A total of three gentlement working diligiently to repair 5 outlets that were blown in my kitchen and shared wall into the bathroom and restored power. The appliances that had to be pulled out were put back. It is always nice that my house was not torn up and everything repaired and returned to its place! They took the time to assist me in talking to Whirlpool and advising of the appliance issue to the consumer safetly department for reimbursement. I printed the coupon for the 10% Angies list but when writing up my order, the gentleman said that I was referred by Angies list and gave me the discount without even asking! That was awesome. For all the work going on to repair 5 outlets, I paid $440.00. That was more than a fair deal for the work done and I would definately recommond DFC for there professionalism and integrity!!

Robert responded the same day and came out to look at the job requirements. We received our quote the next day. Because we had a problem with the performance of our sump pump I questioned Robert about a solution and he suggested a much larger pump. He came out the next night and installed it. One problem solved! After doing the preliminary projects (new gas meter, special run of 1" pipe, and permit) the actual installation was finished without further complications. Would we use and/or recommend DFC in the future? In a heartbeat!

They were good. It was done within the time. I would use them again in the future.

On a very cold day the heater pooped out and DFC came RIGHT over. Fixed issue quickly and for a fair price. Happy Happy.

DFC did a great job in doing all the work I asked for. Had my kitchen remodeled a couple of years back and the microwave ended up on same circuit as other things in the house causing a blown circuit from time to time. Called DFC to fix the problem. They noted my 110 box could not accomodate moving the micro to its own circuit without updating the box. So I figured if they were going to do that work might as well have them do several other things I long wanted to be done. Robert came out and gave a written quote and worked with me to understand the work to be done. He also came out again when I questioned some of what was in the quote to make sure he fully understood what I wanted done. Very responsive. In the end I had DFC add coach lights on the garage, add a light switch in the garage, canned lights in the living room, canned lights in the laundry rooms, new light switches in laundry room and several new outlets around the house - plus an upgrade to the 110 box for the micro. Lots of work done over 3 days. What is nice about DFC is their work also includes patching all the walls and ceilings as needed. Other quotes I got were very similar to DFC but did not include any patching. So overall cost was very competitive and quality of work excellent. Robert and his crew stayed very late to get the work done which is a credit to his dedication. A minor consideration is that Robert has some young apprentice talent on his team and understanding they are young and learning - I noticed several times that they just threw the tools on the living room wood floor not thinking about the damage it could do. A few minor scratches in this case. I had just had the floors redone last fall so I guess I was especially touchy about it. But overall DFC did a great job at a reasonable price. They noticed some of the strange wiring of bedrooms with other parts of the house and took time to unravel and put them on thier own circuit. House has better lighting and I can now use microwave and toaster at same time. I would definitely use DFC again.

Showed up on time - made a quick fix while the wait for a proper replacement part started. Came back in a week with the 40 amp fuse holder we required and got it quickly with a minimum of hassle. Explained the issue clearly and concisely. Was organized, efficient and forth coming about price and timing.

John and his partner were stellar. Our house was without power and they made special accommodations to be at our house that morning. After diagnosing the problem it was determined the issue was the ComEd meter. John called ComEd on our behalf to explain to them the issue. While we waited for ComEd John and his partner addressed some minor issues with switches and outlets that weren't functioning. ComEd was late but John followed up with me and ComEd several times. He even offered to speak with the ComEd technician to assure he addressed to issue. I really appreciated the level of professionalism and follow up.

These two great fella's showed up right when we needed them and literally came to our rescue! We were experiencing a heat wave in one of our scorching hot Chicago summers and our A/C was running so poorly. Not even able to cool off one room! We had had other service men out to work on it with no success. These guys came here and conveniently had the part we needed with them. They went outside to the unit replaced the part and were done within an hour! ( I don't even think it took them an hour!) Lo and Behold, our A/C made our house COLD and worked hard and efficiently ALL summer long. Couldn't be happier with DFC and those two great guys !

I tripped a circuit breaker but it would not reset again. It affected only some of the lights in the house, I called up DFC amongst other Angie's list electrical contractors. It was the coldest day of the year yet with really low wind-chill temperatures. So most folks said they were backed up with heating related calls. I got a call back from Rob of DFC within a couple of hours. I described the problem to him. He said he would get back to me with a firm time within a hour. He called back later as he was getting ready to drive to my place. He took about 5 minutes to diagnose that it was a bad breaker. He had a spare in his truck, replaced the defective and checked all the outlets/lights on that circuit. He also checked on a couple of other outlets where I was having some issues. He was very good to work with and resolved everything in about 30 minutes. Will use them again.

The guys that came were very professional and courteous. They were a little late in showing up but were stuck at other jobs. There were some dicrepencies in billing which were corrected very quickly. They will do everything to make sure you are satisfied.

It went fine. It worked out very well.

They installed 4 canisters I intend to have them come out and work on more projects around the house when the weather warms up.

I originally contacted DFC for an electrical problem where the lights in our house were flashing and dimming. They determined that there was significant corrosion on our wires which they cleaned and greatly improved the problem. They also said that we needed a new circuit breaker box. Our old box was over 50 years old and looked like a squirrels nest, with wires everywhere. Many circuits were wired incorrectly as there was no place to add new circuit breakers to over the years. I definitely agreed with them that this needed to be upgraded. They quoted me a flat price for a new 100 amp box with 30 breakers, all installation, and an outside connection box. John and two assistants arrived at our house at about 11am and stayed until about 730pm. John seems more like an artist than an electrician. He made sure everything was perfect and proudly explained everything he did. Upon discovering problems with other wires he changed them along with doing other work that they did not expect. No extra charge, John just made sure everything was right. I think other people would not have done this extra work, but John would not do anything halfway. Overall I was very pleased. Our problems have all been fixed and I would not hesitate to use DFC again.

I purchased a big deal for this company. It took two men three hours to do it. They left the walls torn open where they have put the conduit in. I don't know why it took three hours to get it done. They charged me an extra hour. They were prompt. They had the fan and he was installing the fan. Then he had a pipe that it hangs from and it was obvious that the pipe that the ceiling fan was hanging from was too long for my living room. I needed a shorter pipe. I literally live across the street from Home Depot. The guy said I will take care of it for $20 and he left. And he came back with the shorter down thing and finished up. Then charged me more money saying it took more than two hours to do. I guess sometimes it's the small things. He didn't give me change for my $20 or a receipt. And I called and asked for a receipt. He goes I can't find the receipt right now. I'm sure it was about $18. You don't want $2.00 and change back do you? By that time I was like I want my $2 back. I never got a cent back. I went over to Home Depot and it cost less than $10 to get that little pipe. I'm sorry you are a low human being to rip $20 off a customer. I don't understand about people who would chisel you out of that kind of money. You can't even be true and faithful over $20, that's why I said I don't know if it takes three hours to install a junction box in the ceiling because I'm feeling that you are not truthful.

An electrician was to come out to install ceiling fans in bedrooms. We set a date and time and he never showed up. He called me late in the day and said he would try to make it to my house the next day. He said he would call me. He never called and never showed up. I asked him how to go about getting refund on Angie's List for this deal I purchased. He said he did not know but he would find out and call me back in 10 minutes. It has been several days and I have yet to hear back.

It worked out very well. There was an additional cost of $500. The guy who came out had a can do attitude. It seemed like it took longer and it was more complicated than I thought it would be. It seemed like he was very honest. I just do not know why it took him so long to wire some of the fixtures but I am not an electrician so I do know but it was all worth it.

Only glitch was that the generator did not arrive. It was not the company's fault - rather hold up at rail yard. The company they get it from didn't deliver - that was Friday- wS delivered on Tuesday - then due to problems with my schedule I couldn't get time off so- had to wait for me the following week . They always responded to my call and email. I would recommend.
