CARLSON BROTHERS MOVERS

We hired Carlson Brothers Movers because they moved my mother-in-law into a retirement home. They were awesome then and they did an awesome job for us today. They showed up to our old house 10 minutes early. They walked us through the house to make sure they understood our requirements. These hulking young men were each and every one unfailingly courteous (they asked if they could use the bathroom, they asked if they could take a break, etc.). The move went quickly even though we left behind some furniture for our buyers, some furniture had to be dropped off at Good Will, and yet another drop off of an antique desk was made to a consignment shop. They asked questions throughout the move to make sure they got it right. They happily moved a few junky yet heavy items to our curb that we will have the city haul away. They made sure we understood that they were there to serve us and that we were the boss. When we arrived at our new house they again walked through each room so they understood the destination of our possessions. These guys are amazingly patient. We're going to tell our real estate agent to recommend their services. I'm a 57 year old less than athletic guy. The Carlson Brothers crew were like a group of muscular pals who had my best interest at heart. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat.

After reading so many good reviews here, my wife hired Carlson Brothers to move her mother to a new apartment. With a tight time frame, Carlson Brothers was able to accommodate. Josh and his crew were fantastic, so fast and efficient. My wife couldn't believe how quickly they got everything moved in. They were very professional and respectful. Moving can be stressful, but Carlson Brothers made this move stress-free for our family.

In the time promised and under the estimated cost

Amazing! The movers were awesome! I had been very concerned about possible damage to the custom home we just had built and I voiced that concern a couple times prior to the move and boy did Carlson Brothers deliver! The movers worked extremely well together and were extremely careful... they put down runners everywhere and were meticulous about not touching walls or door ways while moving big boxes and furniture. I was truly amazed... I could not have done it without doing some damage, but no problem for these guys... and they were moving a lot of heavy items without any issues or complaints. The guys were super courteous and friendly... they were fast too! Only taking a couple short breaks after a truck had been fully packed or unpacked. The cost was below their reasonable estimates. My only complaint was with the packers in the old house. They didn't seem to take as much care while packing. They walked in and out of the house without runners/booties/etc and one guy in boots stood in one place on a nice Room & Board tufted rug while packing boxes causing the rug to shed significantly). The packing was good (they used insane amount of paper... to wrap every item in the box regardless of what it was... I think this is standard practice though). They also finished packing inside and then left even though my wife asked them to check with me in the garage which was a bit of a mess. In the end, it was okay, but I would have preferred to have a little help in the garage. I wouldn't let the packing experience keep me from using Carlson again for moving or packing... I would just be more clear on my expectations. Again... the movers were EXCEPTIONAL! I was very pleased with the end result! Highly recommended!

EXCELLENT!! A giant THANK YOU to the strong, talented staff of Carlson Brothers Movers in Addison!! They showed up on time, with moving blankets aplenty, and made quick work of protecting our floors and emptying our 5 bedroom house. All the guys were respectful and polite and so careful with our stuff - I was so IMPRESSED! They made what would've normally been a stressful day a breeze, no worries for me! (DH thanks you for that too!) The motto on their truck reads, "Everything in your home is a treasure and we'll treat it that way!" It was true - all the way! Thank you, guys!! *I have to mention that when we originally had the moving job quoted, it was around $2000, which I thought was very reasonable for a 5 BR 3 BA home, and we had planned to pack ourselves up. In the weeks leading up to the move, we sold our house and our buyers ended up purchasing several pieces of our furniture - which meant there was less to move! I contacted Bob and told him they were going to have a lighter job, and he told me that's OK - their fee is determined by the actual time their crew needs to execute the move, and if they finished earlier, the bill would be less. He said, the more ready you are when we show up, the faster it goes, and he wasn't kidding. They worked quickly and efficiently. What a huge relief!! I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone moving, no matter how big or small the job was.

The movers were great! I was very stressed over this move and the young men moving my things were kind and patient. And there was only one small piece damaged. I would highly recommend Carlson Brothers Movers

These guys were the best! They arrived on time, moved quickly but extremely carefully and were happy to do anything we asked, including returning furniture we didn't need back to the original location. Not a single thing damaged and wonderful crew. I highly, highly recommend them.

They were clean, polite, and fast. I under-estimated the amount of time and CJ was dead on for the time of the job. I do think that when a quote is given the possibilities of incidentals should be noted: cost of shrink wrap, mileage, etc...Just a couple of surprises that made the company seem a little cheap. The quality of their work was NOT cheap, but the impression of the "add ons" made the ending a little sour, only slightly. A new neighbor drove by, asked for their card, and I let him know their work was awesome. All in all, GREAT Job!!!!!!!!!

Came out to the condo the look at how much stuff we had and then gave us a quote based on that in person visit. This was important compared to the bigger, name brand movers who want to do this all online or over the phone. I didn't want any surprises to the bill on the day of the move. The three movers arrived on time and went to work immediately. They worked quickly and carefully. We needed some things moved from a storage unit on the way to the new house and they accommodated this request. It was looking like the move might start to take longer than planned as the unloading began,and I was worried about how much the cost could go up. Rather than add on to the bill, they brought in two extra men to help finish up unloading at no extra cost! Everything ended up being done on time and on budget. I was very impressed by the service of this small business.

It went great. I was very happy with their service. They came out to give me an estimate. I thought it was better than doing it over the phone. He spent a lot of time and went over everything. We wanted to take take some wine and originally they said they couldn't because they didn't want to be responsible if something should happen to it, but they talked to the driver. Since I understood the risk involved, they were happy to do it.

Highly recommend these movers. So polite, very efficient. With both moves, I was so very grateful for their professionalism. No worries on either end of the moves. I knew they would make it all work And, they did. Thank You.

I don't have the names of the 3 movers at the moment; all 3 were wonderful - very professional and responsive; prompt, careful and fast. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Carlson and these individuals to others and to use them again myself.

A representative from the company came to look at the office to review the items we were moving. They asked us to put stickers on the items to denote where they were to be moved as we were moving furniture to 3 locations in our new building: Offices, warehouse and basement storage. They called with an estimate, and we agreed to schedule the work. On the moving date, they arrived on time and immediately began working the plan they had prepared. They systematically moved all the furniture by color coded sticker into their two trucks. We needed to move a desk to a separate location and pick up a replacement desk and credenza (from a basement crawlspace) to go to the new office location. They happily accommodated this request. Next, they unloaded all the furniture, placed the items as directed by our staff into the final destinations. There were a couple items that we changed our minds about where we wanted the furniture located, and Carlson Brothers Movers assured us it was no problem at all to move the furniture to a different location in the building. Some items designated to go to the offices were ultimately moved to the basement storage as we over estimated the amount of furniture that would fit in the office space. The movers were very polite, patient and professional. The price quoted did not increase with a few added items to be relocated in the new office.

They did a fantastic job- punctual, careful with every item, neat coming in and out of the house. I would definitely use them again.

The move went very well from start to finish including the initial quote. They were very courteous, prompt, thorough and careful. I would use them again without hesitation.

They were great. They were very professional and the price was good and we were happy with it. They were a pleasure to do business with. We liked them so much that we recommended them to my parents and they used them for their move as well.

The above price included a tip. I can not recommend them more highly. They were remarkably professional and incredibly quick and efficient. They were very, very cost effective and a pleasure to work with. I have moved 3 or 4 times and they were by far the best moving experience I have had. They were phenomenal.

They started off by removing the fresh snow from the sidewalk and salted it. They also used lots of floor covering to protect my floors. They moved swiftly and with determination. they were very cordial and careful. Only 1 item got broken and they notified me immediately. It was nothing of value and i already expected it to break during the move so no harm done. Ultimately they finished the job in less time than they planned for saving me about $300 from the estimate.

When John Carlson, the owner, came to give me an estimate he explained exactly what to expect, how they charged for their service and offered several tips on how best to pack and what I could do to prepare for the move to make it efficient and reduce my out of pocket expense. The 3 young men who came to do the work arrived right on time. They were obviously experienced and went about the move very methodically, carefully and quickly. Each piece of furniture was carefully wrapped and I couldn't help but notice that as they carried things they place their hands so that their hands would rub against a wall and not the furniture. Fortunately I had a beautiful, DRY day for the move. Yet these movers made sure they layed down runners to protect the carpet in both homes. They were very polite, professional and friendly. I used Carlson Brothers for my last move 8 years ago...and although I dread the thought of moving again, I know I can count on them to get the job done right and for a fair price.

GAVE US IDEAS ON HOW WE COULD REDUCE THE COST OF THEIR JOB. COURTEOUS GUYS. DROPPED A LAMP ON THE SIDEWALK, REPAIRED IT AT THEIR EXPENSE AND DELIVERED IT BACK TO US.
