Oh wow. No wonder Dave Wisbrock and his crew are in such demand, they pay attention to every detail. First of all, no mess. They are constantly cleaning up as they go. Dave uses synthetic felt, and I was so impressed how this seals the surface. I was extremely impressed how he meticulously he nailed the shingles and explained how critical this is in getting a roof job to last the life of the materials. Most leaks are caused by faulty nailing. I was also impressed on his understanding of the importance of ventilating the attic space. I was in total agreement to eliminate the passive vents and replace them with Solar Star solar vents. Solar vents start circulating air when it is daylight and not wait until the air temperature is 100 degrees. As a result my attic stays cooler longer. He was the only contractor I talked to that understood that passive vents don't mix with power vents as the passive vents "short circuit" and pull outside air in and right out through the power vent; this does not help draw cool air in from the soffits. He also noted that my Kitchen and bathroom vans were not properly vented and installed roof vents using insulted ductwork. Oh and as a bonus, Dave painted all exposed metal to match the roof, nice touch! Dave took a full week to re-roof my 45 square roof. I saw other contractors rush in and complete jobs in 1 day. I cannot imagine how a 1 day roof job could be as good as one where the work crew focuses on quality and detail.

Very satisfied with all the work they did. Showed up in a timely manner each and every day of the five-day job, and cleaned up thoroughly every day. Dave was hands-on and easy to work with, making sure my wife and I knew what he was doing and why, and he did not hesitate to contact me with questions (such as when a large tree right next to the house made it tough to install a corner piece on the gutters). Dave has a very customer-friendly attitude and is easy to work with. He's the man to call if you need roof work.
Description of Work: Dave and his crew replaced two roofs (garage and main home), installed new soffits, fascia and gutters, and cut ventilation holes in the soffits to the attic crawl spaces that the home builder neglected to do. Also replaced several boards, cleaned off some mold on cross-beams and boards in our crawl spaces and sprayed insulation in both attic crawls.

Dave did our neighbors roof and they were completely happy. He came out to our home several times to discuss the project before we hired him. We have a 2 story Gallagher & Henry home with a mansard roof. Dave is very thorough, punctual, detailed, a person who tries to live up to his word and an all around nice guy. We shared with him the two serious areas of leakage (only in the winter from ice damning) that we had with the previous roof - 1) the area between the house and the garage and the small peaked overhang over the master bedroom. He committed to us that once it was done correctly it would never leak again. He and his crew did everything they committed to do and the roof looked fine. However, after 2 winters the leaks were back. Dave came out, did some minor repairs, cleaned off the roof and we would need to contact him again with the next heavy snow. Dave has been out to our home several times due to the same issues - leaking in the same two spots. Last year, I called him due to leaking and he recommended that we put roof heaters in those spots to melt the snow/ice off the roof so it wouldn't back up and leak into the house. He would not pay for the roof heaters, so we paid for the roof heaters and my husband and son did the installation. The heaters have been on since our first snow of the season. The roof was again leaking and Dave did not return my call this time. What would you do? I paid $16,500 for a brand new roof that has leaked off and on with each heavy snow (if we didn't have a snowy winter, we were good to go). We now have wet wood w/wet insulation in our garage attic from the leaking and dry wall and paint issues in the master bedroom from all the leaking. I'm done paying for his poor work. I'll be hiring someone else to fix his mess and send him the bill. Dave Wisbrock tried but he did not succeed in resolving the leaking problems with this roof installation. For that he gets an 'F'. If you have a complex project with any sort of issues, check out other roofers with more experience.
Description of Work: Wisbrock Roofing did a complete tear off of 2 roofs, repaired the underneath damage and installed a new roof complete with vents, repairs to the chimney and aluminum trim around the windows.

Response from WISBROCK ROOFING
I try to keep all my customers satisfied, but in this case it's not possible. I installed this roof above and beyond manufacture specs. We have had record breaking storms in recent years over 2 inches of rain in less than an hour and not one single leak. I have responded every time they have called me. I have shoveled snow off this roof multiple times without charging my customer a single dime. Average cost to shovel a roof s $250.09 to $500.00. I have explained to them multiple times that this is an insulation and ventilation issue. Her husband told me he believed I did a great job on the roofand the problem was with the house design. They had soffit work done before I did the roof. After we started have these issues in the winter I took out a vented soffit panel and it was solid wood behind it. I told her this needed to be addressed, but she wanted me to do it for free. I've been in this attic many times in the winter when it is freezing outside and it's over 40degrees in the attic. You need proper intake in your soffits to cool your attic. The biggest problem here is they didn't want to pay to fix anything just because I did the roof she expected free service on everything else. This attic needs to be cooled to solve this problem, there isn't anything wrong with the roof itself. With my customers not willing to pay to fix this issue I mentioned heat tape to try to melt all the ice away and that was what we tried. I installed the heat tape I believe 2 years ago and when I asked her to pay for the material she said no that this was my fault and I should pay for it. So instead of arguing I left and latter that evening her husband called me and said he would pay for the material and he understood this isn't my fault. I've always been willing to fix this problem, but I was only payed to do a roof not soffit vents or insulation. These houses are known for having major issues and unfortunately you don't always solve them by just replacing a roof. I have answered my phone at all hours of the night and early morning and have always had a fast response. I have 20years experience and my employee has over 44years of experience we both have tried to explain the problems here, if the insulation and ventilation issues aren't addressed this problem will keep happening. This time it took me 3 days to get back to them and next thing I know I'm reading stuff like this all over the Internet. I have been in business over 14 years and I try to make every customer happy.

Wisbrock did a great job. He inspected the attack for any mold (which there was none) when he arrived for the estimate. He was very helpful in selecting a color. The entire job took a couple of days, and each workday the area was clean. They installed all vents and replaced damper vents as needed. We were very happy with the result.
Description of Work: Removed two layers of roof and installed new Atlas Pinnacle roofing (shingles and hip/ridge), plus two new solar attack fans.

Dave Wisbrock Roofing is a local company that does extensive work in my neighborhood. A few years back, my neighbor contacted the firm and was extremely satisfied with their work. I contacted Dave for an estimate, but I never followed through until I developed a leak that ruined a section of my ceiling (my Bad-Lesson Learned). I called Dave and he responded within hours to inspect the damage to the roof. He applied a temporary fix (without charge), which he stated would hold the problem for several months (it worked). I wanted the roof replaced immediately and Dave worked it into his schedule to comply with my request. Dave and his crew arrived within two weeks to start the job. Dave is a hands-on owner with a hard working crew that completed the job from start to finish without interruption for other jobs. Dave was on site throughout the work and his crew arrived on time each day and worked well into the evening. Each workday ended with a thorough cleaning of the area and storage of materials. As with many tear-offs, my roof needed additional work to replace rotted wood that was caused by a lack of proper air circulation. Dave discovered that soffit vents were not cut into the attic as promised by a different fraudulent contractor 20 years ago. Dave thoroughly explained the problem and his proposed solution which included additional vents, an attic fan and blown in insulation. This work added a very reasonable increase to the estimate, but it was the right time to fix it. I didn't want to pass on the problems to the next owner of out house. Dave Wisbrock knows roofs and I was thrilled with the finished product. Dave saved a great deal of cost by using soffit and fascia only where needed. He fixed existing gutter problems by re-routing some of the water flow and adding larger down spouts. I was pleased with everything from the quality of the materials/workmanship to the look of the caulk seams. He even recommended a local garage door firm (Innovative Garage Door - Downers Grove, IL), that completed our exterior face lift with a replacement garage door. We are extremely satisfied with the work that was performed by Dave Wisbrock Roofing.
Description of Work: Complete tear-off and replacement of roof with blown in insulation added to attic space. The work also included installation of a new gutter system and replacement of soffit/fascia as needed.

He did an excellent job. He has regular employee that work for him and he does not sign people up for the event. They worked right through and efficiently and they cut the really clean situation. There was an unexpected weather situation and they covered the portion, so we were really pleased with all that they did. We spent about $7500 on that work.
Description of Work: We used Wisbrock Roofing in November and they came and did a tear off because the Certain Teed shingles were faulty and curling.
