Oakwood Electric & Generator

The electrician showed up on time. He had bootie covers for his shoes, which I loved. I hate when repairmen come to your house and look at you like you have three heads when you ask them to remover their dirty, muddy old boots. This was not necessary as he had the covers for his boots! He was very professional and nice and knew exactly what to do and did everything I needed. As we were chatting, he mentioned to me that they also installed/maintained generators. I told him I already had a house generator, but he mentioned that they also maintain them as well as install them. If you have a generator, they need to have the oil changed once a year etc. I will be calling them back to maintain my generator too. Great work at a great price.

Oakwaood in general, and Alex in specific, were absolutely terrific. They were able to come out to my house within 36 hours of my orginal call and Alex located the problem immediately (while another electrician I had out could not). After the problem was identified, Alex outlined possible solutions and helped me determine the best course of action and had the lamp post back up and running inside of two hours. I am very satisfied with both the quality of work and the price paid fo rthe service. Oakwood will be the first company I will call with my next electrical problem.

Alex came to the house. He arrived on time. Wore booties in the house. Went to check out the problem. Did all standard testing, then found no power coming to outlet. Rewired the outlet. Work was done in about 45 minutes. Did have a coupon, but said that it applied to services over $200.00, after he left I read coupon and seen that it had no minimum amount. But, all in all liked the worker, was very clean and polite. Have used this company in the past and will use in the future.

I called Oakwood Lighting (I researched and found them on Angie's List) and Alex Radulet came out and gave us a quote for the work. I had wanted to get more than one estimate but because of time constraints on our part we only got the one estimate, but Alex indicated that the work could be completed the followng week (two other electricians we called were unable to come and give an estimate within the time frame we needed and we felt that if we waited for their estimates our time frame would be severely impacted.) We called Oakwood Lighting back and told them we'd like to go ahead with the job on Monday, July 22. The crew showed up on Monday morning and were here for approximately 5-6 hours. The crew who did the work, were polite, professional, friendly and on time and on task. They did a beautiful job and cleaned up completey after finishing the job. I would highly recommend Oakwood Lighting and would definately use them again.

Scheduled an appointment to discuss our requirements for the generator on first visit. We were given a very thorough explanation of how these generators work, and also asked questions as to what we would like to have the generator power up during a power failure. Once we arrived at those decisions, we received a proposal for the total installed price. We opted for a whole house generator. Gave a deposit and received a call when the generator arrived at their shop and promptly was given a date for installation. This all occured in less than a three week period. The crew arrived right on schedule, and started the work of removing the landscape that was in the way of where the generator was to be placed. They kept me informed every step of the way throughout the process, when they had to turn the gas off, and when they needed to turn the electric off. Upon installation, they came in and relit the pilots on the furnace and hot water tank. They gave me a demonstration of the unit, and since we opted for the wireless mobile link, help me register it on line. After this was all completed, they showed me how the unit functioned outside, and shut the power off to the house to demonstrate the generator in action. The work was done timely, neatly, and the crew that performed the work were very polite, professional, and considerate of our home when having to enter, to prevent tracking dirt in.

We had a new chandelier fixture installed in our two-story foyer. Rob and his team were very punctual and courteous. They brought in and set up a huge ladder, and were able to quickly install the new light. They also made sure to double check that I was happy with the height of the fixture. The next day, I noticed that a part of the chandelier wasn't screwed in well and looked like it might fall out. I called back and spoke to Becky, and she was able to schedule an appointment later that day, and also called me to tell me when they would be coming. They said that there probably was no concern about safety, but they were very willing to come back and fix the problem. The second crew, Pedro and Arvey were very nice and were able to explain the situation and how they would be able to fix it and make it look better. I was happy with their customer service, and would choose to use them again.

Oakwood was a highly rated award winner on Angie's List which is why we intially chose them. From the first contact with Becky at the office to the last phone contact and everything in between, our dealings with Oakwood were A plus. Rob initially came to size the generator we needed, gave a presentation that explained every step in detail and answered all questions thoroughly, and worked up a reasonable quote for us. (We had gotten other quotes and researched prices on the internet. These generators are not cheap by any means but Oakwood's price was quite fair.) Rob's crew of three were knowledgeable, efficient, hard working and completed all the work in one day as we requested which was quite a challenge. Rob was present for quite a bit of the work done and he also handled the permits with our village. He even stopped by on a holiday weekend to double check the placement of the generator before he submitted the plans to the village! That spoke volumes. What set Oakwood apart was the feeling that Rob and his wife were personally concerned that everything be exactly as we wanted. He seemed genuinely sad that they had to chop part of a beloved bush out of the way of the generator (and he could identify what kind of bush it was! Our village rules dictated the placement so we really had no choice.) I could go on and on. Suffice it to say that we have found our forever electricians!

Their price was kind of expensive. I was not here the day that they came out. I had to have a friend meet and let them in. The end product looked fine. I have not had any trouble with it since that time.

Everything went well on the service they provided me. They're very professional, prompt and courteous they save me a lot of money on changing the breaker of my electrical system.

We called Oakwood Lighting when we were first looking to add a whole-house generator. We worked with Becky to get someone out to quote. Rob arrived on time and was extremely helpful in helping us pick the right generator. We agreed to a price and we were on the schedule. The install went extremely smooth, and Rob walked us through how the generator worked. We were so pleased by the way the generator install went, we used Oakwood Lighting when we remodeled the basement, just a few weeks later. Rob, Alex and the team were prompt, professional, friendly and had GREAT recommendations about our electrical set up, and our lighting placement and choices. We already have additional electrical projects that we plan to use Oakwood for. Highly recommended!

Oakwood Lighting arrived during the time window originally given. Alex replaced my low voltage ground lighting with fixtures that I provided. I was very pleased that he upgraded the connections between these new fixtures and the underground cable with better materials. He also replace an interior wall switch that was acting up. All of this work was completed within an hour. My bill was for the 1 hour of labor and the replacement wall switch. Next time I need any electrical work done, I will call Oakwood again.

This is the second time I've used Oakwood - a very satisfactory experience. Despite the snow coming down, Albert removed the remnants of the corroded bulbs from the lamp and after replacing them with with some I provided, he gave me a replacement "tutorial". Everything was nice and bright for a few days, then the light was out again. Upon his second visit, it was determined that one bulb was bad and he again replaced that - at no additional charge. Five stars in my book!!

Made appointment and it took a week to have someone come out to my house, but he arrived on time as scheduled. While here, the service tech was very professional and nice. Would have used them, but the quote for a generator was over $1000 higher than the vendor we chose to go with.

The work was done in a very professional manner and I was very satisfied with the job. Until I found Oakwood on Angie's List, I did not believe that it was possible to find an organization who had all the variety of skills necessary to do this job. Oakwood also supplied an estimate for a Generac generator, which I have not acted upon yet since I have to make decisions on the options that were included in the very complete estimate.

The Office Manager, Becky, responded immediately to my call and arranged for the owner, Robert, to come to my home, discuss the intallation I had in mind, offer some options, and provide an estimate for the labor. Although Oakwood Lighting installs whole-house, automatic generator systems, Robert agreed that my idea for a manual transfer switch connected to a portable generator was appropriate for my situation. He also agreed that the hardware I proposed to use was appropriate and priced competitively, and he would gladly provide the installation service. The estimate from Oakwook Lighting for labor cost was very similar to that of two other electrical service companies. The two electricians arrived on time, were courteous and patient with my questions, worked effectively together, and cleaned up the work area when finished. We tested the system before the electricians left, and the whole process took less than two hours. Oakwood Lighting also honored a $25 discount coupon available through Angie's List.

excellent experience from start to finish. The owner Robert was very hands-on and as he likes to be. Process went very smoothly with his office manager Becky keeping me in the loop by e-mail at every step of the ordering process ? this more complicated, larger scale triple phase generatorsare made on demand/just-in-time style by Generac-- they took care of all of the steps from the permit, pouring of the concrete pad for the generator, installation of the natural gas piping, the postinstallation city inspection, all elements of the delivery etc. Really couldn't be happier. Will be using for future work. If you have a more complicated, commercial installations like we had with higher amounts of amperage and more advanced voltage requirements as we did, do not hesitate to give Oakwood lighting a call.
