Since 1979, our small family-owned business has been committed to providing customers with the best possible HVAC experience. We provide in-home service for residential furnaces, air conditioning systems, boilers, whole-house humidifiers, and air cleaners. Lennox products available for installation. Emergency on-call services available daily until 9 PM. (NOTE: DIY parts no longer available, effective September 1, 2018.)

Excellent work! Would absolutely recommend and have to others in the area. The people that have used Econotemp based on my recommendation have all come back with nothing but praise. They are consistently honest, fair, skillful, and professional. After working with them a handful of times now, I wouldn't even consider calling any one else.

We are looking to replace a very old A/C and water heater. We called several companies for estimates. We are looking for the best value for our money. 
The company was quick to respond and schedule an appointment with us. They arrived on time and the technician was professional and seemed thorough in his inspection as well as knowledgeable. He provided a quote on site and it seemed perfectly fine. 
A day or two later, we contacted the company about expanding the estimate. We were interested in taking advantage of the Nicor/Comed rebates available for High Efficiency A/C, Furnace, and Water Heater installations and wanted to see what that would cost. They relied on notes from the original visit. They sent a quote by email for ONLY a high efficiency furnace. They did not address the issue of HE water heater or A/C. I do not know if the original quoted units were HE or not, but they only mentioned the furnace rebate in the email, not the rebates available for the other two items, so I think not. Not only that, but they didn't alter the previous estimate at all, just sent us the furnace as a separate estimate. We were very disappointed in this response, expecting better customer service. We were left feeling like they didn't really care if they had our business or not.

It went well. The provider met me and picked me up so we could get a permit for the work. He got the measurements, went to home depot, and purchased the hot water heater. It took about an hour and a half- two hours all together.

Called Econotemp at 8:00am in the morning to replace a 19 year old water heater that was leaking lots of water. They said someone would be out between 11am-1pm to replace it. They quoted an all inclusive price over the phone of $816. The repair man showed up at exactly 11am and by 1pm he was completely finished. He was very professional and also showed me how to light the water heater. He also shared some other great advice. The quoted price was the actual price.
All in all a perfect repair call!!!

For a month or two there had been a noise occasionally coming from the furnace.  It was hard to hear over the main blower but sometimes it was audible while the furnace was starting up.
Called Econotemp on a Monday morning, describing the problem and saying it wasn't an emergency. Technician came out later the same morning.  Really nice and professional guy. Showed me everything.

I called several heating and cooling companies last week, and Econotemp was the only one that could send a service technician out within a reasonable period of time (i.e., one week).  Jason arrived at the appointed time, looked at the home inspection report provided by the home buyers, and went right to work.  He called me down after half an hour to show me the very corroded humidifier, and gave me the option of (a) removing it altogether, (b) attempting to repair it, or (c) replacing it with a new one.  He warned me that he wasn't certain that he could repair it, and he would have to bill me for the time / labor involved. But he was willing to try.  I called my realtor to ask for her opinion, and she suggested another option -- re-installing the corroded humidifier and offering the buyers a credit to replace it at their leisure. Jason quoted me a price of $550 for parts and labor, but he explained that most of the cost would be in the labor (i.e., having to add new sheet metal to repair the rusted and corroded portions underneath). All in all, I was pleased with Econotemp's responsiveness, as well as Jason's punctuality, candor, and professionalism.  The cost of their standard furnace cleaning and check is higher than that of most other companies that I contacted. But good luck scheduling an appointment with some of those other companies. In this instance, I think you get what you pay for.

Econotemp Inc did work for me in January.  It cost us approximately $400.  They did furnace repair for me.  They are very prompt, very efficient, the call was made in an evening and then sent out a tech, a service repair guy within about an hour.  Everything was in and out within twenty minutes.  Very professional, very thorough, very quick.  He showed me exactly what was going on and showed me it should look like versus was looking like, there was no confusion on my part as to what happened.  It was nice.  It was comforting to know, he was very specific about what he was doing.  And he was in and out very quickly.  Clearly he knew what he was doing.

We called after the exiting water heater sprung a leak.They quoted me a price on the phone and were out that morning. It took a little longer than I would have expected. But they did a great job and were very conscious of keeping everything clean. Best of all there was no surprises

The EconoTemp technician was polite and professional.  He explained how to read the furnace error codes and clean the flame sensor, as well as inspecting, disassembling, and cleaning the furnace.

EconoTemp does not usually have cheap cleaning specials like some companies, but they do a more thorough job.  And they sell parts and give expert advice, too.

We've used Econotemp in the past and have always been pleased. They again met our expectations for professionalism but I was disappointed that we had to call them the day after the service call because of water around our furnace. When they came back, they said a pipe was clogged. They unclogged it and everything has been fine since. When I asked, though, why the pipe had not been cleaned as part of the general maintenance, they said a clog like this only happens "about once every seven years." Our previous AC/heating servicer had checked this pipe each time, though, and we never had a problem. Overall opinion? They still do good work but missed, in my mind, a key component this time.
