+ -1 moreThey were in line with everyone else with their price. I had pretty good response when they did the install, but then afterward, it was very poor. I would have to average it. In the beginning, I would say it was a B, and afterward I would say it was a D and now would say it’s a C for responsiveness. Punctuality once they have an appointment, I would say that’s an A.

They were right on time every time they had to come out, they did what they said they would do, and though they weren't able to perform the final check-up for quite some time, they were willing to wait on the final payment of $2700 until we could meet at a mutually-acceptable time.

+ -1 moreThey were excellent. Their prices were very competitive. Their service was very good. They came out just recently when we had an issue and fixed it very quickly. I would recommend them for boilers. I got probably eight or nine quotes and they were the best. They got back to me very quickly every time I called them.

+ -1 moreReplaced all parts with quality parts. Work done previously by "friend" less than quality work, but it did last for 10 years, but degraded to a point that it needed replacement. The location of problem were difficult to reach so a professional was needed. Berwyn-Western had done work for me before and I knew them as being reliable. He was late due to the service call before mine being a problem, but I was kept in the loop at all times. They offered to reschedule if I needed to be elsewhere. I waited, no problem and he showed up within two hours of the scheduled time.
Description of Work: Repaired leak and replaced plunger on toilet.

Finding nothing, he listened to my explanation of how the morning had gone, and realized the problem might be the gas meter. Going outside in below zero temperatures, he discovered that it was the meter that was frozen. He gave me his direct phone number and detailed explanation of what he found for the gas company in case there were any questions.
Description of Work: I woke up with no heat. They came out within a few hours and found that the gas meter was frozen. The technician tried to get it to thaw, but couldn't.

+ 0 moreBerwyn Western was recommended by someone who was very satisfied with the work that was done for them. We were happy with the time that the owner took to explain in detail what was going to take place. He spent a couple of hours with us on two occasions and then came back a third time to fine tune it. The workmen did their jobs in a professional manner and cleaned up after the job was done to our satisfaction. I appreciated that those doing the job did not bring along their rap or rock music.
Description of Work: Berwyn Western installed two sump pumps and a backup pump with a battery backup.

In the bathroom, I also had new mirror, sink and cabinates installed. I had new cabinets installed in my kitchen. I have new cabinets, sink, fridge, and stove. The flooring was replaced in my bathroom and kitchen; they installed new ceramic tiles. I had new lights and switches installed in my kitchen and bathroom. The sevice was excelent, They purchased everything needed for the job in the included price. I am very satisfied with the work they done in the time frame they done it in.

Took nearly 8 hours to install, but they paid great attention to detail, double checked everything and walked me through the operation of my new furnace and humidifier. Cleaned up as if they weren't even there. With the rebates from manufacturer and gas company, plus tax credit, I will end up getting a portion of the $3200 I spent back in my pocket. Berwyn Western will assist you in the rebate process, also. Knowledgeable installers who pay attention to detail. With heating and air conditioning proper installation is paramount. I highly recommend this company

+ 1 moreThey were fine when they were here. They weren't able to solve the problems, but they were going to investigate and get back in touch with me. Then, I called the office back three or four times and they kept telling me they would get back with me and never did. So, I have actually given up on using them. They weren't able to fix the toilets, nor were they able to find the parts for the faucets. They said they would get back in touch with me and didn't, plus it took them a long time to get me the estimate on the waterproofing. Overall, I didn't find their communication to be very good. They didn't really do much, so I can't rate their quality. They came the one time when they said they would, since then, I haven't even been able to schedule an appointment.
Description of Work: Berwyn Western Plumbing & Heating came out in mid-December. They are investigating 2 leaking faucets, a leaking toilet, a clogged drain, and an exterior drain. They also gave me an estimate for basement waterproofing.

+ 0 moreThey may be a bit pricey, but their service is defiantly worth it.
Description of Work: We did a complete over haul of our kitchen. It was the original in a pre 1945 bungalow, so this meant that Berwyn Western had to redo the plumbing as well as electrical so that the space was up to code. This also was a very tiny kitchen that they were working in. The coordination of the project was excellent and they were finished in month total time Rita, our designer came up with a great plan for the space and stuck to the budget. The work men that they used were friendly and courteous. We are extremely pleased with the final results. We have almost triple the storage space we had and the kitchen is beautiful! During the kitchen redo our A/C went out. Berwyn Western was already on site so they quickly evaluated the problem and had us fixed up with a new Carrier unit. Their knowledge of the current tax breaks available for energy efficient appliances was very helpful in deciding whether or not to replace out 20 plus year-old furnace.

+ -1 moreDue to the annual maintenance we have never had any problems with our ancient gas furnace. While the technicians rarely volunteer any information they are responsive when we pose questions. On their last visit I asked about carbon monoxide leakage and they used a meter to determine the amounts of any coming from the old furnace and made recommendations concerning preventive steps we could take to make sure we don't have any serious carbon monoxide leaks. The amount of time needed to clean and check the furnace seems brief compared to the $89 service charge but the quality of the staff seems to justify that to some extent.
Description of Work: They come out every fall to service my heating unit. They clean and check our furnace.

While they've always been a little on the high side, we've always been satisfied with the quality of their work. This time, we were not. We were charged an outrageous sum for a simple sink rodding. To boot, the plumber did a poor job of cleaning up after himself. I had to spend half an hour doing the job myself. We definitely will be going elsewhere from now on.

WE WILL GET A SECOND OPINION FROM A RECOMMENDED ANGIE'S LIST PROVIDER. BERWYN WESTERN PROVED TO BE A WASTE OF OUR TIME AND MONEY.
Description of Work: WE HAVE A 2-ZONE STEAM HEAT BOILER IN THE HOUSE WE RECENTLY PURCHASED. THE BOILER STOPPED WORKING. WE CALLED BERWYN WESTERN, SINCE WE NOTICED THEY DID THE INSTALLATION AND SERVICE ON THE ORIGINAL BOILER. THEY CAME OUT ON A MONDAY AND SAID IT WAS A COMPUTER CHIP PART THEY HAD TO ORDER FROM A COMPANY IN R.I., AND THEY WOULD GET BACK TO US IN A COUPLE DAYS WHEN THE PART CAME IN. THEY TOOK THE PART COVER WITH ALL OF THE INFORMATION WITH THEM. ONE WEEK LATER, WE HAD TO CALL THEM TO FIND OUT THAT THE COMPANY THAT MADE THE ORIGINAL PART WAS OUT OF BUSINESS. THEY WOULD NOT DROP OFF THE PART THEY TOOK FROM US, SO WE HAD TO GO OUT OF OUR WAY TO THEIR OFFICE TO PICK IT UP!
