About 2 years ago we listed with Debbie. We were looking for someone with real experience in our area and noticed a lot of signs for Gobber Real Estate. When we called, of course it was Debbie who answered, because she's always willing to take the calls to get new clients. She made the process really easy. She got every detail about the house, took pictures, and prepared a marketing brochure for the house. She came to us on our schedule, had all the paperwork ready, and had the house on the market the next day. She kept us updated throughout the process. We had a few serious buyers, and she worked them as diligently and doggedly as possible. She gave us great advice and helped us initiate the short sale process when it was clear we weren't going to sell the property any other way. When we finally got a serious offer, she was on it. This short sale process has taken about 8 months, and she did everything possible to keep it moving. When we had problems with the original attorney, she got the problem resolved. She made sure the buyer and his realtor stayed current, and continued to resolve questions as they arose. There's so much that can go wrong with a short sale and she did everything in her power to make sure none of those things happened. We're closing this week and I couldn't be happier about it. There's no question that almost any other realtor would have given up or not bothered to really do the work necessary to make this happen.
Description of Work: I cannot say enough good things about Debbie Toscano. I have had a house on the market for over 6 years. After a number of realtors and failed attempts, Debbie sold the house. More than anything, this is due to Debbie's incredible work ethic, tenaciousness, reliability, and complete honesty. No one ever tried as hard, stayed as focused, and made sure to address every detail as thoroughly as her. Debbie is a very modest person. In a field full of pretentious, phony, dishonest people, who all present themselves as God's gift to real estate, you might tend to overlook or underestimate Debbie. That would be your mistake. She does what she says. She *always* calls you back. I've never known anyone in any field who makes themselves so available to their clients. Debbie is not a "team" realtor, where you're always getting passed off to someone else. She does the work herself. And boy does she work. Every showing, she doggedly pursues feedback from the buyers' realtors, to try and figure out what she can do better. Any paperwork that is needed, she takes care of immediately (I mean every time, it was less than 24 hours that she had the paperwork done). I doubt I ever waited more than 2 hours for a callback. She markets the home in every available avenue, leaving no stone unturned. When there is an issue to work through with the other party, she keeps at it until it is resolved. On a personal level, Debbie is one of the most caring and compassionate people I have ever met. While this isn't an absolutely necessary character trait for a good realtor, the fact is, buying or selling your house is often very stressful. Working with Debbie made a terrible situation actually enjoyable at times. This can be all the difference when trying to see through what is often a long and draining process. For me, this was true, and Debbie was truly concerned about my situation and cared for my family with love and compassion. She wanted to sell the house, not just because it is her profession, but because she genuinely wanted to help me. She's been doing real estate in the near Western suburbs of Chicago for years. She knows the area and has real knowledge about the neighborhoods, the market, and what works in buying or selling. Her fees are pretty typical, and worth every penny. In my case, it was a short sale, and there was a ton of work involved. Debbie gave my case her full attention even though her reward wasn't going to be as high as on other clients. This may sound melodramatic, but Debbie is the kind of person who puts your faith back in humanity. Call her. You will not be disappointed.
