I paid in full to have my irrigation system set up for summer in March. Last year they had my irrigation system up and running by end of April. This year I’ve called three times and have been told that they are running behind. My schedule date is June 7th…in the meantime we’re experiencing a drought and I can’t use my sprinkler system because they’re 6 weeks behind. Their excuse is a late start due to weather and having 3000 customers. I’d suggest finding an irrigation company that is not inundated with too many customers so you can get quality and timely service. Update: Keep in mind I prepaid for this service back in March. I took the day off work to finally get the irrigation system opened up and I made afternoon plans as I was given a window from 8-12 that the technician would show up. Of course they didn’t come on time! Technician didn’t arrive until almost an hour late. This company doesn’t appear to be BBB accredited, has shown horrible punctuality, and lacks adequate customer service. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere

I would avoid. They are super aggressive each spring and fall to get you to pay the fee to turn on and off your system. However, when I need service for my system, I cannot get anyone to return my calls. I have spoken with Regina and Laura multiple times asking to schedule service and get put off each time with a promise of a return call. Each time I have spoken with the women, it is like the first time they have ever heard of me. Either they are dumb or just really bad at their jobs. Buyer beware.
Description of Work: Had a spring "turn-on" completed. They identified 2 leaks that needed repair and I requested movement of 4 sprinkler heads.

I have used them for 5+ years for system maintenance. This year they came out and said the backflow needed to be replaced. He showed me how the water was pouring out of the valve and then told me it was the third one that failed this week. He told me the cost would be $400-$600. I found the part on-line for $200 and called them back to install. It was two plus weeks. I thought something was fishy so I told them I would hire someone else. The new company came out and they showed me that the valve worked and did not need to be replaced. I called Western Irrigation back and told them what happened and that I did not yet receive my refund. They told me that the new company was mistaken. I told them that there was no need to fake a working system and that there guy was either bad or trying to steal from me. They did not apologize and claimed my refund was sent out 10 days ago. Beware!

A lawn contractor that I used to use, used them and since they have been here previously under that contract, I just continued with them. They seem to be knowledgeable, reliable and reasonable.
Description of Work: We used Western Irrigation. It was for my sprinkler system opening and repair of two sprinkler heads and I also paid $80 for a plumber to come out and certify my RPZ backflow valves.

The worker from Western Irrigation came out as scheduled and performed the the turn on and also fixed some heads that needed repairing. The only reason I gave them a "C" in terms of responsiveness is because Wheaton requires an RPZ to be submitted and the employee said that they'd send out a plumber to do that and thus far I've not heard anything in terms of scheduling the plumber.

This is the company that installed the irrigation system in my home prior to my owning it. Since it is their system, I thought it best that they do the service. Last fall, they shut down my system just fine, and I noted it system wasn't working. The installer at the time told me they would look at it in the spring and get it working then. I told him it would be fine. I called to have my system started up for the year near the beginning of May. The person who answered the phone told me the schedulers were out and they would call me to set up an appointment. About a week later, I called again since no one had contacted me. The woman who answered the phone didn't even ask for my name or number, she just told me they would call me when they had a scheduled time. Another week later and I finally get a call with a set-in-stone time I needed to be home for the installer to come. I mentioned to the scheduler that I needed a Backflow Inspection and that the system needed repairs. She told me to just tell the installer. When the installec came, he reinstalled the valve and manually got some of the system running. Eventually, though, he ran out of his work window and had to leave the project unfinished. Furthermore, he wasn't even certified to do the Backflow Inspection and another technician would have to come out and work on it. I got another call a few days later from the scheduler who had a date for me to get on the schedule, but I would be out of town on vacation. Instead of trying to set up an appointment when I would be back, she said she would "note it" and I would be called again when I was back. Now that I'm back from vacation, and my deadline is looming for the Backflow Certification, I called to see if I could get on the schedule. Again, I was given the rigamarole about the scheduling department calling me back. I expressed my concern about the deadline, but was giving a pat answer. The technicians seem knowledgeable, but dealing with the back office and scheduling departments are a nightmare. UPDATE: I have called every day or two since I initially submitted this report. It is now the middle of July and I have finally been given a date for a technician to come back out and finish the job they started. They still have not scheduled the backflow testing because the system is not running. Who knows how long this will go on and whether or not my water will be shut down by the city for not having my certification completed on time.
