These guys are GREAT!!! I wasn't thrilled with my other provider (DRF Irrigation) and decided to try Salinas & Sons. I called on a Friday afternoon. They were over on Saturday afternoon to troubleshoot and quote and on Monday they were here and fixed everything!! They were pleasant, knowledgeable, and very reasonable with pricing. And communication was great - I knew exactly what was going on when. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! I would definitely recommend these guys. It is a family run organization (I met two brothers and dad) and they focus purely on sprinklers. The price for replacing the head was literally one third of what DRF charged.

We have been using Salinas and Sons since the Spring of 2014 after moving into a new home with a front and backyard lawn sprinkler system. This business is family run and we have been pleasantly surprised that they have their act together and are both professional and friendly. During late Fall 2014 they made an unscheduled visit to our home. They rang the doorbell and I stepped out to find them waiting. They told me that a cold front was going to bring the temperature way down below freezing that week and if it was okay for them to flush out and shut down our sprinkler for the winter. Now it is critical to flush out a sprinkler system and shut it down before temperatures reach the freezing point as pipes (and sprinkler heads) will break with freezing and thawing. We were thrilled that they were proactive about coming out before the freeze and potentially saving us a lot of money the following Spring/Summer. This Spring 2015 I had a note on my calendar to contact them for a visit to prepare and test our lawn system. Before I could shoot off the email to schedule the visit, Salinas and Sons sent me an email asking when it would be convenient to stop by for the Spring maintenance work. That's being on top of things. Would recommend using this business without reservation.

They were great! I called them on a monday and they were putting in the sprinklers in under a week! They go the permits from the city that we needed and took care of all the details. Very professional, courteous and did a fantastic job. Our yard has never looked so green! They were very detail-oriented and asked if we had plans to place patio/other structures in the yard in the future and mapped out the irrigation lines accordingly. Highly recommend!

We had our system installed nearly one year ago. The Salinas family patriarch and crew were able to get everything installed in one day. They were very meticulous about the placement of the sprinklers making sure each area in every zone was covered. Since installation, any question or minor issue that I have had has either been answered via text right away or by Fabian coming by to make the adjustment. We have lived in our home for eleven years, and our yard has never looked better. I cannot say enough about Salinas and Sons skill, professionalism, and most of all their customer service. If you are considering an irrigation system, and you want a top quality system installed by a family owned and operated company, Call Salinas and Sons!

Fabian and his crew were great. He was very prompt in getting back to me with my intial request. He showed up on the date scheduled and on time. He and his crew started up the system and identified 3 broken heads as well as a hole in our main line. They worked quickly to fix all the problems with hardley any damage to our lawn. We will have them come back in fall to shut down our system

Hire these guys! They are amazing! My wife and I purchased a new home in Wheaton in December with a sprinkler system. We've never had one before. The previous owners used a different company for all services which, when sold to a new owner, apparently went way downhill in service and responsiveness. So I checked Angie's list and found Salinas & Sons. From the very start, I have been thrilled with every aspect of working with them. I travel a lot for work, my wife also works full time, and we have three young children, so responsiveness is imperative. So is a no BS way of doing business. I contacted Salinas in March and they responded within an hour and told me everything I needed to know. This included timing of setup, for which it was waaaay too early, so they offered to call me back when it was more appropriate to turn things on. They did just that, were flexible in scheduling a time when I knew I'd be in town, texted the day of to see when I'd be free, texted when they were 45 minutes away, arrived promptly, and went straight to work. They turned things on, tested the whole system, showed me a handful of defective heads, told me what they'd cost to replace, were extremely reasonable for the replacement and start up costs, and did it all within about an hour. Fabian even tutored me on the system controller and the best practices associated with programming, including to pay attention to local ordinances. A few weeks later we had 2,600 sq. ft. of sod installed. I turned on the system to ensure that the sod would be watered when I was out of town for 10 consecutive days, and the coverage was all wrong. Even though Fabian patiently showed me how to re-aim the heads when they did the setup, I obviously wasn't paying enough attention because I couldn't figure it out in the short time I had. So I texted Fabian as I was about to leave for O'Hare. They came the next day and did everything I asked for with perfect results. Finally, I recently learned that Wheaton requires backflow testing. I texted Fabian, he responded in 10 minutes, and they'll come out and get it down for $120. All in all, a truly delightful experience working with these guys. Professional, pleasant, honest, reliable, responsive, thorough, you name it. If everyone provide service like Salinas & Sons, there wouldn't be a need for Angie's List. A+ across the board. Hire these guys!

Being new to lawn irrigation I wanted to make sure I chose a customer-friendly company that I could trust. When Fabian and Mr. Salinas Sr. came out to look at the lawn for a quote I could tell Mr. Salinas knew what he was doing. He mapped out where things could go, asked what I wanted and made suggestions for the best solution. (Afterwards, I found out that he has 30+ years experience in lawn irrigation.) After the walkthrough, Fabian said he would have a quote to me that evening. I didn't get the quote but thought since it was spring they were busy so I waited a few days and then called for a status. Fabian had sent the quote the day he said he would but I didn't get the email. We figured out what the problem was and I got the quote right away. Everything looked good so we started moving toward installation. Throughout, Fabian was very responsive to my questions and always got back to me whenever I contacted him. Even when I didn't leave a voicemail message he would call me back very soon after I called. I have to complete an association application where I live so I emailed a plat of survey to Fabian and he indicated how the system would be laid out and emailed it back to me. Fabian was available for anything else the association might need and kept in contact with me while the application was being reviewed and JULIE did their survey. I was surprised it only took one week between accepting the quote and installation. On the day of installation, everyone was friendly and ready to work. I was glad to see Mr. Salinas Sr. was there and felt comfortable things would go smoothly. The guys knew what they were doing and everyone worked fast and well together. Fabian was there to make sure everything was started and as customer service to me. I asked a lot of questions and watched the installation to see how it was done. Everyone was very nice and answered any question I asked, showing me what they were doing and why. Even though I had new sod laid and it came up very easily when cutting in to lay the piping, the guys made sure everything was laid back down so disruption to the lawn was kept at a minimum. After installation, the system was fully tested and tweaked to make sure coverage was correct. We walked through the sequence and timing of each section and everything worked great. Fabian gave me a detailed explanation and setup of the control box which is very easy to use. I can just let the system run through it's schedule or manually run any section whenever I want. It also has a rain sensor so the system doesn't run when it's raining. I'm very pleased with Salinas and Sons and will enjoy working with them for support and maintenance of the system. The system works great, is exactly what I wanted and I couldn't have asked for a better company to work with.

Very responsive to IMs through Angie's List app. They came right out at the next available appointment. They were professional and quick about the work.

I called Fabian on 4-17-14 in the morning and his schedule allow for him to come to my house immediately. Fabian started up my irrigation system and went through all the zones and checked each and every sprinkler head. We were able to schedule the project for this Monday. Great service.

The first visit was fine. However, I never the received the written estimate I was promised.

The entire process went extremely well. Fabian Salinas (older son) was my primary contact. He was unbelievably responsive through email and phone. He visited the house to take measurements and to understand our plans for the lawn (e.g., plans for new flower beds, etc.). During that time, he explained the process and the equipment. On the day of installation, Fabian, Ismael Salinas (father), and Richard Salinas (younger son) arrived with all the necessary equipment. We walked around and Fabian provided details to Ismael and Richard. Afterwards, Ismael and Richard proceeded with the installation. They arranged for the plumber who installed the plumbing for the backflow preventer. We have been in our home for 20 years and have lots of trees. They were very careful to manually dig around the major roots to ensure no damage to the trees. The entire installation took a little over two days, with the last day being the day they turned on, tested, and demonstrated the system. It was somewhat late in the season, but I was able to run the system several times and it works very well. I am very pleased with the work and gladly recommend them.

Left message and they called me back right away (unlike several other companies out there of whom I did not receive a call back!). Once they called back, I was able to make an appointment that fit very conveniently (and short term) with my schedule, which was very important in my decision to select a company...too many other companies attempt to do it based on THEIR schedule and convenience. Arrived on time...Called to confirm day or so prior to appointment and also called again approximately 1 hour before appointment to inform me they were coming. Timely, very professional, customer service. Exceptional service, and will definitely use them again!

As weather getting colder sooner than expected, left message to come and close system sooner than anticipated. Promptly returned my call and closed system the following morning; came at expected time; completed work quickly for a reasonable price. Yes, I will call them again.

Called them late on Saturday, they called me on Sunday and arrived about 30 minutes later. They did all the appropriate work and were very pleasant. Answered all questions. Would definitely use them again.

I am so impressed! I emailed at 9pm the night before and they scheduled me for 1-3pm the next day. They arrived at 2pm, and were professional and courteous. They diagnosed the problem with my sprinkler system and estimated an hour to fix. They gave me the option of fixing the existing valve, or replacing it with a new one. I decided to replace the valve for piece of mind. They finished in 45 minutes, and did a complete diagnostic on the irrigation system and found the missing head. While they only had to replace the head, they also lowered it so the same thing wouldn't happen again. The crew was very friendly, professional, and explained things thoroughly. So within 24 hours of contacting them, my sprinkler system was up and working! I will definitely contact them again for our winter blow-out and any other servicing of our irritation system. I couldn't be happier with the experience!

Salinas & Sons was extremely punctual and quick. They were also very responsive and the most reasonably priced company I came across. I would definitely recommend them and trust that if we have any problems they will come out and fix it because that is the type of people they are - honest and operate with a high level of integrity. I received several quotes for the job, but decided to go with Salinas and Sons due to their responsiveness, professionalism, and courtesy... from the time they came to give us a quote to the explanation of how the system functioned (and all the various phone calls/e-mails in-between), each member of the staff was courteous and professional. Other quotes took much longer to finalize (or were difficult to reach to answer questions)... Fabian was always willing to answer a question with a quick e-mail or phone call. After the first day of the 2-day install, we had to move several of the water lines/sprinkler heads after I received the (much-delayed) landscaping plan from my builder. Even though it meant more work on their part, they were happy to oblige and do the extra work.

Not good. Fabian good to respond however at the end of the day it was bait and switch. Asked for RPZ testing. Fathers and brother showed up and the price changed three times in 5 minutes for what I wanted done. Told them to leave (took the am from work) and have Fabian call me. No call. Txt him and told him would not like to continue . His comment, " sorry I could not help you". Not would I would call a good service provider. Did call back but not able to live up to what was committed. Get everything in writing with this type of service. Plumber that does RPZ is third party. Shows up when he feels like it so I was told.

They completed the job in 3 days. They came back a week later and made some additional adjustmenst to the system including an additional sprinkler head at no charge.
