 + 0 moreProblem assessed and made recommendations, but never offered to preformed the task. Was charged a triple digit fee for one hour of service for 30 minutes of advice on how to do it ourselves. Was billed for supplies used, but only unscrewed a faucet with an Allen wrench. I was in need of service, but response time was long (8 days) and we endured the wait hoping for the best service. It was obvious that the associate assumed, as a female, I couldn’t make a decision to give him the permission he needed to do the work without my husband present. At the end it was a very unprofessional experience.

My wife were in a bind because we want to replace our refrigerator, which when we bought six years ago during a complete kitchen remodel fit nicely into the designated spot including a nice wooden frame that was built to give the refrigerator a "built-in" look. But now that we want to replace the refrigerator we found that virtually none available today would fit in that spot. We hired Mr. Handyman of Wheaton-Hinsdale to come out and remove the frame for us which was a fairly complicated remodel. Steven arrived on time and did a spectacular job! He explained to strategy for making the modification and kept us included in the work as it progressed. He was meticulous about the work and wanted to make us super happy which we are! We would hire Mr. Handyman of Wheaton-Hinsdale again in an instant!

He cleaned up the area and secured the electrical wiring and affected plumbing. We were amazed at how proficient he was.

From the moment I contacted them they were so friendly and responsive (email, and text confirmations). Frank did a fantastic job and was friendly and talkative. We have an older house with plaster ceilings and it seemed like the first person we hired was not used to working with those materials and quickly got in over his head. Al from Mr. Handyman assessed the situation and completed the work responsibly and professionally. He was easy to work with and clearly explained the steps that he was taking to finish the project. Al even offered to adjust his schedule in order to come out on a Saturday so that the project could be finished quickly. We're glad that we called Mr. Handyman because we ended up being much more confident in the work that was completed than we were with what the first contractor had done.

We'll have them back out in the spring when they can replace and cement the post and strengthen any other sections as preventive maintenance for the future. Forgot to ask about the senior discount, but maybe they can take care of me in the spring with the quote on the full repair...
