Grant & Power Landscaping

Grant & Power Landscaping was pretty good. They did what they were supposed to do.

They were average. On the positive side, I would say that quality and the actual work was good. I am lacking on the actual side walk that they put in. So the actual quality of landscaping and the variety of flowers really creates a pretty picture and I think that was good. I was frustrated, at the very top of the list, was the financial question that they were in. With the snow business, having a lot of snow and those kind of stuff; they kept cutting corners on the blueprint that we agreed upon. It was clear what we agreed upon and I also had them finish what we agreed upon. The actual bid includes the backyard but when I saw what they were going to do with the backyard and it was not what we agreed upon, I decide that we’re not going to do it anymore and I will just do it myself. There is also front section in the yard that has not been done and they could not have done it if I did not check the blueprint that it is part of what they should do. So, that caused a frustration.

It was a very good experience. They were very professional. They were punctual. They were helpful. They did a fantastic job and i was very satisfied. Their price was competitive.

I've used them for probably 12 years. What stood out about them was attention to detail, but I felt that they started catering more to commercial business than residential business. I felt like they shifted their interest to larger commercial projects.

I had a good experience. They were very forthright with numbers and very forthright about when they would be here. They were here on time and did exactly what was asked them to do.

We used them for years. They always gave us good advice and provided us with good service at a fair price.

We didn't like what their plan was. We had a different landscaper. We wanted to have a drainage plan on our backyard. We wanted to have the downspouts connected to the underground drainage. We also had an area in the yard that tended to flood a lot. They had these plastic box-like things. They're all underground and they're connected by a corrugated kind of synthetic pipe. The designer who came out didn't really want to do it the way we felt would be the best. We had estimates from another company which was great and we had them do it. She really didn't want to put in that kind of a drainage system. She just wanted to take out some grass and fill it with mulch. That's not what we wanted.

They're a great company to work with. They made changes to the landscaping plan and they were very amenable to the changes that I wanted to make. Their plan was very creative and they listen to the customer as far as what my ideas were. I would use them again in the future.

They're fantastic. We've used them for eleven years. Their quality and professionalism stand out the most.

They did a good job. They were very reliable. They showed up. They were honest.

They were very professional, extremely expensive. I think from hearing about them from other people which is why we call them that they do a very good work we just couldn't afford them. The one thing was, we had to have a certain kind of stone and it was something he personally did not like and so he was trying to send us something else and we didn't like what he had suggested.

We've decided to go with somebody else. I would use this provider in the future.

When I called Grant and Power for an estimate the first thing I was told was if you're not going to spend over $5000 we are not your company we are expensive. I found that to to be kind of rude but I did think maybe this place is a high end professional landscape company. We budgeted for 3 times that amount but I thought it was odd that I needed to tell them that. The rep came out in mid May and looked over the job and said we can do this for you no problem. Then I was told that if I wanted a detailed artist rendering of what they were going to do it would cost me $1000. It would go towards the job cost. If not they keep your $1000. We saw some sample drawings and they were very elaborate but not worth $1000. A few days past and I sent them an email to see if they could give us some idea of what they were thinking and asked if they could just send us an overhead sketch so we could decide if we wanted to give them the work. The meeting with the rep didn't give us a clear idea of what he was thinking. What they sent was 3 lines drawn with a pencil on our survey. That was the last contact we had with them. No follow up or call. What did I even send the survey for? Something that took less 10 seconds to draw? We were going to spend up to $15,000 for this project and this response left us speechless. Other places took 10- 15 minutes SAT IN THEIR TRUCK and sketched out very nice rendering that showed us great detail and communicated their ideas to us. Some sent us drawings that they did on a computer that shows color of the pavers, cap stones, measurements of the path and seating area flag stone path around the retaining wall. Not an elaborate artist rendering but enough to make us say that they want our business and they seem to care and all of them did it for free. Grant and Power was a disappointing experience.

Everything was always good. They did a very nice job. I've been using them for 4 years.

It was very high so I didn't follow up with them.

Since our former house was on a city lot and our present one is on a marshland visited by many deer, the trees and plants that will thrive in each location are quite different. Grant and Power guided us toward the landscaping that would best fit each location. They also designed and built a lovely large brick patio that spans the back of our house. They stand behind all of their work; when a few bricks came loose on our patio step, they responded immediately and reset them at no charge.

They did a really good work. It was expensive but good. It was more than I expected but it was good.

We did not like them. They wasted a lot of our money. Half of the plants they put in the ground died within the first year that they planted them. We had signed something that said we had to spend at least $2,000 so they did something in the back of the house along the lot line.

Before starting any work, they ask what we want done or not done to make sure there are no surprises afterwards. They do a great job and we are always pleased with how our yard looks when they are finished. We have used their services for a number of years and are very satisfied.

They did a wonderful job. The front of the house looked beautiful, best on the block I thought. The price was reasonable and we worked with them for a few years. They replaced any bushes that didn't make it thru the winter and continued replacing mulch, etc. We had to discontinue the service because we retired and were on a fixed income. We still try to upkeep the original plan they did for us. Would rehire anytime. They were always on time and courteous and easy to work with.

Professional & on time Also had a person to contact directly throughout our project. We have sold this Illinois home & now live in a different state.

Very well done. Work was done as proposed.

Brick patio work was outstanding. Landscaping design and selection of plantings was poor

Terrible! They planted pine trees right in front of neighbors pine tress. Why? The added a very small mound we had to have removed because it looked so silly. They did not block two major sight lines that now show neighbors houses. It was the worst major money I spent in my life. Now after 10 years, many of the plants are far too crowded and many of the flowering bushes never survived even after they were replaced after the first year they died. So disappointed with their work and we chose them because they were the most expensive adn we thought they would do the best job.

Workers did a fantastic job. We had just put down new mulch the day before they came so I was a little worried it would be a mess when they left. But somehow you couldn't even tell they moved the mulch to fix the edging. They took out the old edging and replaced it with new edging. Looks beautiful !
