+ -1 moreONCE AGAIN, THE LIST OF CONTRACTORS THAT HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF HOW TO PICK UP A PHONE AND RETURN A CALL CONTINUES TO GROW. I MET WITH MIKE BALMER AND HE GAVE ME A BID (WHICH I ACCEPTED). HE WAS ALL SET TO DO THE WORK BUT FIRST I NEEDED TO GET A PERMIT. AS I HAD NEVER GOTTEN A BUILDING PERMIT BEFORE, I CALLED BALMER TO ASK HIM HOW TO DO THIS. NEVER HEARD BACK FROM HIM. CALLED AGAIN. NOTHING. AT THAT POINT, I REALIZED THAT IF I WAS HAVING THIS MUCH TROUBLE GETTING A PHONE CALL RETURNED, IT WOULD BE A REAL NIGHTMARE IF BALMER DID THE WORK AND SOMETHING WENT WRONG. I DON'T UNDERSTAND THESE GUYS. ARE THEY SO INDEPENDENTLY WEALTHY THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO ADHERE TO STANDARD BUSINESS PRACTICES? OR EVEN COMMON COURTESY? PS, I FOUND OUT LATER THAT HIS PRICE WAS MUCH HIGHER THAN THE PERSON I FINALLY GOT TO DO THE JOB.
