David is prompt and professional. He did an amazing job gutting and remodeling our bathroom. He built a custom vanity and added beautiful oak trim throughout. His prices are fair and he is honest about what you need and don't need. He is a perfectionist so the end result is beautiful work! Going forward he will be the first person we call for any remodeling work.

Dave was very professional, prompt, and courteous. There was a problem with one section of the granite in one of the kitchens not matching the color or grain of the rest of the counter top. We are not sure what happened, but it was a very big variation and we did not observe the problem until after the counter top was installed. Dave agreed that the counter top did not look up to par, and that portion of the counter top was replaced with a closer match, at Dave's expense. We really appreciated Dave stepping up to the plate to make the job an A+. Everything else was absolutely beautiful on the first round, and Dave's helpers were neat and cleaned up appropriately. I would recommend Dave, as his workmanship and ethics take him up a notch from many other contractors who we have worked with on a whole-house renovation process.

David did an outstanding job for us. Not only did he help us to select the right moldings for installation, but completed the job in a very timely, and highly professional manner. While he was at it, for no extra change he realigned the doors on all of our cabinets. All in all we were quite pleased with the work David perform for us and would gladly recommend his services.

The installation was absolutely amazing. The workmanship was outstanding and the installers were very professional. They kept the area clean and didn't stop until the job was done. The final details that make the installation complete were well done including the caulking and the 1 seam that my wife could not even find. Great job and I am sure I will have David back for other Projects in our home.

From the start, David was great to work with. He had some helpful suggestions of what could be done with our old kitchen. He had great communication throughout the project, always getting back to us promptly when we had questions. David showed great attention to detail. Since our house is old, not every wall and corner is perfectly straight. David spent a lot of time making sure the new cabinets and crown molding looked great, and everything fits perfectly. David was also very good about keeping the kitchen space clean. The kitchen was mostly functional during the entire project, which allowed us to use the kitchen in the evenings. Working on this project with David was a joy. He was great with giving me ideas and troubleshooting various challenges with the existing space. The quality of the materials and the work is excellent. David's attention to detail and perfectionism were much appreciated. The finished product exceeded my most optimistic expectations. David was punctual, professional, and worked very hard on this project to get it just right. We constantly communicated as the project progressed. Each day he left the work space in good order. Matching the wood to the existing entertainment center and selecting a unique piece of granite did add to the price, but I feel this is a fixed asset to my home that definitely increases its value and my pleasure in looking at it! If you want something of high quality and lasting value, Winchell Woodworking is an excellent choice. I will have David back to remodel my master bath next year.

David was one of the woodworkers we contacted to build a breakfast nook. I was very impressed with David - his punctuality in returning my calls and emails; his professionalism; and his obvious knowledge of building a nook. While his company was not our final selection, due to time constraints, I was still very happy with David.

From start to finish it went perfectly. They were very well organized, cleaned up after themselves as they went along, knew what they were doing and I am very pleased with the results. I would employ them and recommend them to others. They are very easy to contact; very responsive; easy to work with. Overall they are excellent!

Dave is a professional and takes pride in an excellent finished product. This was a large project for us and Dave helped by explaining step by step how we should proceed, what would occur, and how we could minimize household disruption. David is a perfectionist! He has an eye for design and suggested placing the floor tiles on a diagonal. He was also able to find some marble for the small plant shelves around the perimeter of the sunroom that coordinated beautifully with the floor tile. The floor looks terrific! I know that I can count on David to give me an accurate estimate for any work that may need to be done in my home - bathrooms, kitchens, cabinetry or floors. He has made my home a place I'm proud of.

Checked it all over and did an inspection and they repaired the chip at no fee to me. Still in perfect condition from 2 years ago.

David completed our kitchen remodel after having done two smaller jobs for us. We needed design input, and David was very helpful in understanding our tastes and budget. David's workmanship is impeccable as was the work of his associates. He was a pleasure to have in our home for the duration of the project and was very accommodating with our schedules. We are extremely pleased with the final look of our kitchen and would highly recommend David. We will be using him for future projects in our home.

David is professional, kind, trustworthy and talented. I have never redesigned a kitchen, and did not exactly know what I wanted and he was beyond patient with me. David Winchell is a knowledgeable guy who has tons of experience. He is polite, calm, and very professional. David makes excellent suggestions and, most importantly, does high quality work. The counter tops arrived beautifully made and with the help of an expert crew, fit perfectly in place. During the installation, David saw that some of the drawer rails in the kitchen were coming loose. On his own initiative, he refastened all of the drawer rails in the kitchen, not just the loose ones. After the all the work was finished, the crew cleaned up nicely.

Our church in Warrenville, Illinois, contracted Winchell Woodworking and Remodeling to create a custom built-in cabinet that would fit into a recessed space we were formerly using as a bookshelf. They created the most beautiful cabinet that complements our church's existing furniture perfectly! Not only is the cabinet a stunning artistic focal point for our gathering area, it serves as a highly functional storage place, keeping Sunday morning items out of view during the week when our building is used for a variety of purposes. David Winchell worked with us in a detailed manner to create a piece that perfectly suited our needs, and was completed in a timely fashion according to our budget. The cabinet is even more wonderful than we pictured it could be!

The work was excellent as usual. This was the last step in a bathroom remodel project which included granite counters, new faucets and lighting. David was extremely accommodating while I searched for the mirrors I wanted, and then worked with my busy schedule. He returned when I was ready and mounted them, and took great care in doing so. The whole project came together very well and the bathrooms look fresh and updated. If I have future projects I will definitely use Winchell Woodworking.

This was the second job David did for us. This was for a complete entertainment center, fireplace and bookshelves project. He was able to take our vision and make it a reality and it looks incredible. He is a perfectionist and it shows in his work!! While he does work slow at times, the work speaks for itself. He even made a few return trips for a few very minor things that needed changing, this is something that is hard to come by with a majority of the contractors and is one of the little things that we appreciate. He did our kitchen remodel a few years ago which still looks great. I recommend David!!!

David did an excellent job.He brought samples and worked with me on the planning. He previously remodeled our kitchen, and he was definitely our first choice to do some upgrades in the bathrooms. He is very careful and thorough in his work. Everything looks and functions very well.

The backsplash is beautiful! David and this associate Ludek did an excellent job! David was very easy to work with and took great care in doing the job correctly. David had many ideas and suggests on how to improve the design and layout of the backsplash. David also helped us with installing a new refrigerator: the cabinet above the refrigerator needed to have 1/4 inch taken off and the copper water line into the refrigerator was leaking. David took the time to trim the cabinet and fix the leak. I would highly recommend Winchell Woodworking and Remodeling!

I was able to select the finishes and style of the piece. He constructed models of the furniture to provide me with how the piece would fit in proportion to the room. David is a perfectionist who works in his shop and brings the finished pieces for installation. He is very conscious of limiting dust and if he cannot complete his work in one day, he always cleans the room. David also suggested light fixtures with a dimmer switch that he hard wired and installed. He designed discreet openings in the cabinets for charging stations on both sides of the bed. He also replaced the old slider wood closet doors with new panelled doors. Beautiful!

Dave Winchell is an angel! He rescued my basement project that has been going on for over a year. Everything that he has done turned out beautifully. Just as expected. Working with him is easy. He communicates promptly and is very professional. His prices are very fair. Dave will not overcharge you, ever!!! He has done a couple things, that other contractors should have done, and was very gracious about it. He has also given me great advice in order to help me wrap up this project and move on. I will definitely recommend and use Winchell Woodworking again. In fact, he is quoting me on another project! Thanks, Dave for being the light at the end of this project tunnel!!!

We had Dave and his team install granite countertops in our kitchen. He did a great job! He provided the estimate in a timely manner and set up a convenient time to install. He and his team were on time and professional while doing the install. He definitely went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with everything. I appreciated his attention to detail and cleanliness while in our home. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

I cannot say enough about David Winchell and Winchell Woodworking- this company is the best of the best!! I located Winchell Woodworking on Angie's List back in August, searching for someone to build custom storage for a large collection of compact discs. I wanted something with very clean lines, simple yet elegant, to get rid of the clutter we were living with previously, while taking minimum space from the living area. My husband wanted to fit as many CD's in the space as possible, with easy access to view the titles. I emailed David, and he responded the next day. From the beginning, and all throughout the process, David was patient and attentive. He stopped by multiple times to measure the space and discuss our vision. He brought over wood samples; I sent photos of various units to show what we liked and did not like, and we came to a solution together and agreed on the price and timeframe. We settled on 7 24"-wide units in maple with a clear finish, The units would be hung to appear as a single unit across a 14 foot wall. Each shelf is just slightly taller than the biggest CD case, for room to pull them out, but for maximum storage. To break up the view just a little, we created some larger spaces at approximately eye level for display. These are tall enough to stand up record album covers. The very base of the shelves are recessed with a "toe kick" so you can stand close to the unit without stubbing toes, and can fit the vacuum under the ledge. David actually built a full-size model in cardboard of one of the units, so we could really get a feel for the scale Then, he even brought a small test version in the wood/finish we chose, to be sure everything was to our liking before the real shelves were produced. I'm sure this is beneficial for him as well, so that customers don't have a change of heart or misunderstanding of what they are getting, but I found it super reassuring, and was impressed that he would put in the extra time up front to be sure we'd love the final product! For the installation, David brought an assistant. The two spent over six hours, removing a strip of carpet so the base for the units would sit on firm floor; carefully measuring and leveling; and making sure the shelves were straight, and secure. Sadly, I'd come to accept work that turns out nice but could have been outstanding with a little extra effort. Winchell Woodworking and David Winchell are by far the best service providers I have worked with EVER. What makes them so great? Attention to detail, and a commitment to amaze. It is very difficult to find a craftsman of any sort who also has business and people skills, or one who cares as much about creating a final product that pleases and delights. David works hard to provide an exceptional product AND exceptional customer service, all within realistic pricing. David considered our list of wants and needs all through the process, and was as excited with the project as we were! I recommend Winchell Woodworking for any home project. Thank you David!! :)
