They promptly provided an estimate. They applied for the permit required by the village on my behalf. They were out the day after I notified them that I received the permit to perform the work. Couldn't ask for better service.

They did a very fine job. They cleaned up all of the tree limbs and branches. They sent a team of people to cut down the dead tree and expertly trim the dead branches on the honey locust. The honey locust now looks healthy.

Rivas Tree Service did an excellent job removing and grinding of two pine trees. They also pruned a number of other trees on the property that look awesome! The team was prompt and fast. I will definitely have them back later this summer to remove additional trees.

Excellent! Crew was on time, and quickly finished the work. Everything was picked up/swept up--no debris left behind.

The first time I called to schedule, he blew me off, the second time I got a hold of him and he stated that he didn't understand what I was wanting. He randomly showed up on a Sunday morning without making an appointment, which I didn't want. I tried to make another appointment but then I never heard back from him.

Al came out the day after we called; we appreciated the quick response. He seems to be very knowledgeable about the various types of trees we have, and he made recommendations appropriate for each. The estimate was higher than what we've seen/paid in the past, but Al is a certified arborist and we wanted that expertise. We did feel the estimate was fair. It took longer than I'd assumed for them to come and do the work (about 5 weeks), but he'd never promised a date, and it's not like we called and asked them to come sooner (in fact, I think they may have been trying to call us). When the crew arrived, they worked quickly and professionally. We're happy with their work and definitely will call Al again.

Rivas did a great job, in spite of a couple of snags with the village/permit that were beyond anyone's control. Liz was fantastic at keeping me informed and communicating throughout the process. It was an easy job for them, and once the permit was approved, they got the tree down quickly.

Al showed up to give me an estimate. On time and very professional. Gave me the impression he knew his stuff. While inspecting the job, I mentioned to Al that my neighbors may be interested in some work as well, and asked if we could get a price break if we all decided to use his company. Al was receptive to the suggestion. It was 3/11, a Saturday, and I received an e-mail that afternoon with a very detailed quote for $1,500. I e-mailed back and asked Liz about the price break for our group. I did not receive a reply, so I waited until Monday and called. Liz said there may have been a "mistake" about the price break for our group, so I politely asked her to check into it and give me a call back. She did not. I e-mailed once again on 3/17 with no reply. I gave them one last chance on 4/5 - called and left a voicemail and followed it up with an e-mail that stated I wanted to schedule their work for the original $1,500 and to disregard the group discount as I would accept their original quote. No e-mail or phone call back. Alejandre's Tree Service gave me a quote that was less than Riva's, but I still would have originially preferred to go with Riva's due to their professionalism and first impression, even though they were more expensive. Unfortunately, without a return call from them, there was no way to schedule it. Alejandre's answered my call on the first ring and immediately scheduled my work to be done within 2 days. That's too bad, I really wanted to use this company.

Other than a delay in scheduling the visit, everything went very smoothly. The work was performed safely and professionally.

Work done as planned and things cleaned out afterward. Very satisfied with their work and plan to use them again if needed.

It went very well. Al Rivas supervises all work and does some work directly. It is obvious his first priorities are the health, longevity and aesthetics of the trees he handles but he is also practical. He consulted when choices were involved and gave advice helpfully. The price was fair considering the amount of tree climbing required. The yard was cleaned up very well. Highly recommended.

Rivas Tree service offered a very reasonable estimate. They kept in close contact with me and answered all questions and concerns. We scheduled the work. They removed all dead/dying trees and cleaned up the yard as well. We also had another tree trimmed so we didn't have any issues this winter. I am going to hire them again for some tree work on another property. They did a great job!

Great work! The team works hard, does all the work above our satisfaction and cleans up the area well. We plan to call them again this coming spring.

Great work and great service. They came to cut down a 40 foot pine and from hello handshake to trucks driving away it took one hour. They ground the stumps of the tree and the bush down and found another bush stump just a foot away that was hiding in the bush they removed and they ground that down, too, without charging extra. It only took them a few extra minutes since the machinery was there so it just seemed like the good service oriented thing to do - and they did it without batting an eye. The price was very competitive. Fantastic job, very happy.

The price seemed reasonable and they came out and were able to perform the job right away. There were multiple big dead limbs that they removed. They did it quickly, efficiently and I was impressed with how they cleaned up so well afterwards, right away and not leaving any debris. They were very careful to make sure no limbs hit my home and were expert in removing safely. Didn't leave a mess, wasted no time and did a great job.

Rivas Tree Service was great to work with. I would use them when the need arises. Al at Rivas is very passionate about his work and his company, and he cares about your trees, and he cares about your satisfaction. It shows in the results, and I am very happy with their service. The crew that worked on my trees was efficient, quick, and despite the amount of work that was done, everything was left as clean (or cleaner) as before they started. A++!

FROM GLENVIEW: These guys were GREAT throughout the entire process. They did everything we asked and were cordial, worked carefully (one tree was around power lines), cleaned up with hardly a trace of knowing trees were cut. The owner was working with his men and after a few conversations with him it can easily be understood why he, his men and entire company are top-notch. Even the lady who I was in communication with at the office was a very wonderful person to deal with. Very reasonable price for the work that was done. They even did tree stump removal. YOU WILL DEFINITELY BE OVERLY SATISFIED WITH THIS COMPANY!
