We had a bit of trouble getting in contact with each other at first. But once we connected, it went smoothly. They were on time and brought plenty of workers. They were here for about an hour. They trimmed off all the deadwood and pruned back branches that were too close to the house and deck on the ash tree. They had a lot of lower limbs to trim on the linden tree as they were hanging very low and the tree needed reshaping. They asked my permission to trim a couple of limbs that were not too low, but would have made the tree look odd if they had been left as is. Their work really made a difference in the look and shape of the tree, and I can now see across the street and down the street with the tree trimmed up. I was pleased with the work they did.

Mr. Rivas did a great job explaining what needed to be done to each tree and why. He and his men did a good job trimming everything as well as cleaning up after. My trees look great!

Rivas did a fabulous job. We needed 7 trees trimmed. Al gave a very reasonable quote. He is a licensed arborist and was able to give suggestions. His crew came out and did a fantastic job. He was able to reshape the trees so that they are once again under control and look completely natural. I have seen the jobs other companies did on my neighbor's trees and am so glad I went with Rivas. I have since recommended him to two others who also went with him and are thrilled with their results.

I have had Rivas Tree Service trim my trees twice and both times the work was excellent and very reasonably priced. Most recently, they did a very thorough job pruning 2 very large trees and removing a medium sized tree and its stump on a brutally hot day and cleaned up every twig afterwards. Absolutely top notch.

This is a third or fourth time I hired Rivas Tree Service and as usual they exceeded my expectations. I already had young trees planed in the area where the two trees were being removed and I assumed some damage will be done to either trees or the fence. Well there was zero damage. The smaller tree was dropped precisely in the middle between two young trees and the larger tree was taken down piece by piece and each piece carefully dropped with down with ropes. The whole job was done quick and with no issues. Price was very competitive. In addition to being able to take down trees with surgical precision Rivas Tree Service can trim trees with artistic imagination to keep them shaped correctly and keep them healthy.

This is the third time we have used Rivas Tree Service. They came out once to trim branches and twice to take down dead trees. Obviously, they impressed us. We have a small lot and a lot of trees and we live along a highway. In order to protect the other trees and the house, they had to take down a tree right across the highway. They safely stopped the traffic, brought down the tree, and had the road cleared of the tree and ALL the debris in a matter of minutes! Al is very knowledgeable and has given us good advice about our trees. His crew knows just what needs to be done and works efficiently. When the job is finished there is nothing left to be cleaned up. They sure know what they are doing! We highly recommend them.

Company representative showed up the next day after I had requested a quote. He explained what they would do and quoted me a price that was much more competitive than the one I had received the day before. Since Rivas was also Award of Excellence provider, I decided to go with them. I asked them to do the work within a specific week and they showed up with 5 guys and handled the job in little over an hour. They made sure to protect our ground plants from the falling branches and completely cleaned up the yard when they were done. They were a great team! I would definitely hire them again and recommend them to others. .

Rivas was a pleasure to work with. They are very passionate about their work and do an A+ job. I felt well taken care of as they also handled permits with the village. Will certainly be using this team again.

I called for an estimate and was told they would be here 3/17-18/2018 weekend. I didn't need to be home and they would, I assume, email me the estimate. No one came and when I called back on Monday, I got the answering machine and did NOT receive a call back. WOULD NOT HIRE THEM!!!!!

These guys were amazing! They coordinated taking a power line down with Com Ed because our large tree was right next to the line. The tree also had a crack so they had to fortify the cracked area so the tree wouldn't fall when they were working on it. They worked nonstop and were done with their work in about three hours. They were meticulous, professional and hardworking. Their price was reasonable too. I would definitely hire them again.

Al came out early one weekend to give me an estimate; work was performed within a few weeks. Trees were trimmed as we discussed; cleanup was spotless. Very happy with service.

I called them about the night before. They responded about 6:30 am. Came out very quickly and gave me an estimate within about two hours. The crew showed up about noon. The crew chief knew it was a tough job. The crew dug, went at it with an axe below grade. Then they tied a rope around the stump and backed up the truck. Sometimes they stopped and use the axe a little more. They got all of them out! I was a huge Phew for me and the crew chief. Rivas was the best. I could not asked for anything better. Quick, professional, experienced and a great price.

He came before gave me an estimate. His crew came by that afternoon. I was in the middle of fence construction project with time constraints. The crew was just great. They showed up on time. They worked hard. I was watching them sometimes. I could tell it challenging them. They used axes shovels and chain around the bumper of the truck to get these bad boys out of out the ground.. They got all of them. I was super happy.

They were very responsive. Did the project very quickly and much more affordably than others. Would definitely use them again.

We were extremely pleased with the quality of work performed. The quoted price was very competitive. The clean-up of the site was absolutely fantastic. Zero complaints. We will contact Rivas Tree Service for any future work needing to be done. We absolutely recommend them for anyone else needing tree removal and stump grinding.

I contacted Rivas, and they were quick to respond and come to my house to assess the damage... HOWEVER, they NEVER provided a quote for the services needed nor did they EVER contact me again! I chose another service provider (non-Angies List company) to do the cleanup needed!

I can't say enough good things about Rivas Tree Service. The absolute best customer service we've had from anyone in years! First of all Al came out to give us a quote the day after I called, around 7pm, after putting in a full day. Liz called before he arrived to give us the heads up. Al explained how they would go about removing the massive tree, and all that was included in his price. My husband was very impressed. Next I worked with Liz to schedule a day. The bottom line is they ended up rearranged their schedule in order to accommodate us (we were going out of town), and they were even short one guy who was out ill. The removal was a sight to behold. It took five men all day, but was carefully done. They had to remove a portion of our fence (which they put back together) to transport the sections of tree to the front of the house for chipping and haul away. They left the yard completely clean. We highly recommend Rivas Tree Service, and will definitely use them again.
