We had carpenter ants and we also had mice. We renewed with Orkin Pest Control for another year because they did a good job. We started with them last year. It was for 12 months and we pay a fee every month. They came out like they couldn't come out faster. We called them and they were out the next day, less than 24 hours. We went with them because of name association and many years ago, my husband used him for his mom's home and that was prior to 1984 so it was a long time ago and they did a good job for her. It was really just the name recognition and the history of working with them many years ago. Initially, they sit down with you and they assess "you definitely have carpenter ants" and they see signs of mice in our storage closet downstairs and they explain to you what they're going to do, what kind of products they are going to use, what we can expect to see, how often they're going to come for follow up initially, it's more frequently and eventually you get to once a month and once a quarter but the caveat to all of that is if you see or you hear a mouse or whatever, you can call them and they can come any time. They come routinely for what you can call a "follow-up" appointment but if you have any kind of pests, you see the carpenter ants are gone and you see one back, you call them and they come right away. If they can't come that day, they're here the next day. They not only take care of the inside of your house, they take care of the outside. They tell you straight out that we're not here just for the ants and the mice, if you have any other kind of problems, we'll take care of them just tell us. When the ground is not covered with 5 feet of snow, they walk around the house and they strategically place things and spray things but because of the snow they couldn't do that. We talked about continuing for one more year at a lesser cost. We're retired and we didn't want to continue to pay every month so they have a lesser expensive agreement. They still give you the exact same service but they come quarterly and you pay quarterly so we took that for another year but there's no pressure to do it, it's entirely up to you They just tell you about it and then you decide if you want it or not. Initially it was the same young man was coming all the time and then they switched to a different person so not a problem. They're very good on their punctuality because they call you ahead of time to remind you that they're coming. I know that's a benefit to them too just in case you're not going to be available, the don't waste a trip here but the fact of the matter is it's nice to have that reminder call even though I have it on my calendar and my husband has it on his, it's still a nice touch.

We researched the price for the service done and feel we got a fair price. Everyone we talked to either in person or on the phone were polite and informative. We had lots of questions because we had never dealt with this sort of thing before.We researched the bugs on line and what Orkin told us matched what we had found out. h.We had originally contacted a firm in Antioch which was given very high recomendation on Angies list. They did not deal with our particular pest and strongly recomended this particular Orkin group. We have had to change several dates when the technician was to come without any problem at all. Explained well the problem and the process of how they would fix it. Time spent and amount paid were accurately estimated and strictly adhered to. Professional and Trustworthy, experts at what they were doing. Manager came and signed off work at each step. Cleaned everything up after the job. I definitely recommend them and would use them again.

They came when they said they were going to come. They are accommodating and very nice to work with. We are very pleased with their work.

Because of all the rain the company was really booked, but they were willing to squeeze me in. From the time I called until the time the technician left, everything was professional and as promised. I was told the technician would arrive between 9-11 and that the whole treatment should be about 30 minutes. He arrived at 9:25 and offered to take off his shoes which I found to be very respectful. He listened to my story, did his job and left.

Orkin does a great job of taking care of my building and ensuring that no little minnie or micky critters live there. No one likes them! Eh?
