JUAN & RON LANDSCAPING

This was a bad experience and I should have seen it coming. Juan's wife, who answers the phone, does the scheduling and handles the billing, hardly speaks English. It took me 10 minutes to give her my address when he was coming by to provide the estimate. I met Juan and he gave me an estimate. His English is not great either and perhaps worse than I thought. At that time, I told him I wanted to think about it, and that I would call to discuss or schedule the work. Because these hedges border the neighbor's yard, I emphasized that my husband or I needed to be there on the day they came to work. I called Juan a few days later (a Monday) to inquire about scheduling. At first, he told me that he could not do the work until 1 week later, then he said he could come by Thursday. I told him that I would call him by Tuesday morning if my husband or I could be there on Thursday when he and the crew were working. Well, I talked with another lawn service on Monday evening, and I was re-evaluating what to do with these hedges. For that reason, and scheduling, I did not call Juan back since I had not decided to have the work done. I did not think about it again until I arrived home from work on Thursday evening. The work had been done without my authorization! I am not sure if this was truly a misunderstanding due to language barrier, or just a ploy to charge me for the work. Regardless, it's bad service and I will not use Juan again.

I was glad they came out, however I have been trying to get a hold of them for the last 2 weeks and have decided to take my business elsewhere. The price they quoted was great, however they never did the work. The quote was for $650 plus sodding costs for spring clean up and leveling.

I was very satisfied with them. I may use them this summer.

Juan did an excellent job and will continue to provide weekly lawn service.

Juan came out, gave me what I considered a very fair proposal, and did the work in a timely manner. Wow! What a great job he did - mowing, blowing, trimming and taking away all the leaves and other debris. My yard has never looked this great going into winter.

Juan did what no other landscaper did - he checked out my lawn during the day, then came back to meet me face-to-face, explain what should take place including a watering schedule and shake my hand after regular working hours. What an excellent impression he left! Although his price was higher than the other companies contacted, he won the bid. Juan and his team did a nice job of raking, aerating and reseeding, but they had also been hired to maintain the lawn (in part to ensure the new grass survived) and fertilize throughout the growing season. Unfortunately, after the initial meeting and the work was completely, both of which I was completely satisfied, I have not seen Juan or his team again and phone calls have gone unanswered. This is an unfortunately end to what promised to be a great experience. Unfortunate, too, since much of the reseeded lawn died off quickly. I am sure if they were maintaining it they would have had been able to save it, or had advice about the problem.

Responsive. Excellent quality. I called to find a new lawn care service. After interviewing some providers, I chose Juan. First visit was a very positive experience. Very good quality at a competitive price. Price listed is for weekly mowing and clean-up. Additional work will be extra. Have not received any bills yet for extras.

I took a chunk of time to be home for them. When I called, more than a half hour after the appointment, the owner hadn't even left to come over. He said he couldn't figure out how to get from his place in Waukeegan to my house in Gurnee. (Anyone ever hear of calling on the phone for directions or using Mapquest)? How about calling the customer if you're running late? I told Juan to stay home. No longer interested in giving him a job. He showed up anyway! I sent him home again. I don't give work to those who disrespect me and my time.

I CALLED THIS COMPANY TO GET A QUOTE FOR FALL CLEAN-UP WORK. I TALKED TO 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE NONE OF WHOM SPOKE ENGLISH THAT I COULD UNDERSTAND. EACH ONE SAID SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME BACK. I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK.

MY PHONE CALL WAS RETURNED AND I WAS TOLD SOMEONE WOULD SURVEY THE WORK AND GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE. I NEVER HEARD FROM THEM CONCERNING THE SURVEY OR THE ESTIMATE.
