We contracted with Ignacio to install epoxy on our new basement floor after receiving a recommendation from Angie’s List. After talking to him on the phone and other contractors, we decided to move forward as he seemed knowledgeable, responsive, polite and eager to get started. As he requested, we paid half upfront, and funny enough, that’s when things started to change. He was very flaky in communicating with us, late to appointments and never delivered on floor samples he promised us. He also told us he would sand before applying the top coat, then made an excuse on why he skipped sanding altogether. Ignacio completed the work and we paid him the other half of the project. After the floors cured, we went downstairs to enjoy our new floors and were very disappointed with the quality of his workmanship. There was loose sediment that he didn’t bother to vacuum and just epoxied over it. Some of the epoxy was disturbed before curing and left permanent imperfections in the finish. Multiple of Ignacio’s hairs were left visibly sealed into the floor. Multiple bubbles were scattered throughout. Some of the epoxy was mixed incorrectly leaving parts of the floor permanently sticky. I called Ignacio asking him to come back and repair his poor workmanship. He became extremely defensive and belligerent, making excuses for his shoddy work. He eventually agreed to return and make repairs but refused to schedule a time. He kept repeating, “I’m busy. I’ll let you know when I can come back”. Weeks pass with no word from him. I contacted him again asking when he is going to come back. He continued on with his belligerent responses saying he’ll let me know but refused to actually schedule a time for him to come back, then hung up on me. It was at this point it occurred to me that he wasn’t going to come back. Funny enough, there are two other reviews on Angies List that pretty much mirror my experience. Shame on Angie’s list for recommending Ignacio and shame on me for not doing my due diligence. Stay away from Ignacio. He’s a fraud contractor that does not stand behind his work.

When project was finished I accepted the result and the business was paid in full. Subsequently after evaluating everything I tried to contact IGV floor coating via phone and emails numerous time and even talked to the owner and explained the problem. It is now year and a half later and the company and owner has ignored my request and refused to come back to take care of issue related to their workmanship. Extremely disappointed and upset and frustrated. Please do not use this company.

IGV [IGV Flooring] did not complete work as described to us. IGV told us the cracks in our basement floor are to be repaired before laying down the epoxy; none of the cracks or cement seams were filled or fixed. In addition, they tracked down debris (rock salt) and epoxied right over it leaving numerous bumps in the epoxy. After IGV left the job in the incomplete state, I brought in multiple vendors to ask them how to fix the issues with the quality of the job. Per the other vendors, the only option we have to fix the cracks and cement seams is to regrind the floor back down and start over. In addition the vendors also commented on the top coat not setting properly and is still tacky. Per the vendors the epoxy appears to have been mixed incorrectly and will remain as is never fully curing. A basement closet was included in the quote that is not completed. IGV said it was to cold in the room to epoxy it so IGV did not do any prep and told us we could finish it ourselves in spring when it warms up. Per the other vendors, the closet door should have been removed from the frame to balance out the temperatures enabling IGV to complete the job. IGV has yet to provide any paperwork for completed job and is unwilling to honor warranties. I followed up with epoxy supplier to provide us invoice for our credit card records as I paid for the epoxy with my credit card under IGV’s account. IGV was given the invoice for the sale but refused to give it to me after multiple requests for it thankfully no credit card information was on the invoice and I called the card number in to the vendor directly. We are extremely unhappy with the quality of the job and the only good thing that was done was the swirl pattern of the floor.

I thought it went very well. They showed up on time and were clean. Iggy returned a few days later to make sure everything was done well and that we were 100% for the work that was done. There was one little spot that he did end up fixing. We're also thinking of having back to reseal and do the exterior patio brick and also the sidewalk bricks.
Description of Work: They did an epoxy coating of a two and half car garage floor and an annex room.
