Mike called me back after about an hour after I called him. 15 minutes later he was here. The repair went very well. He was courteous and knew exactly what to do.

The power went out on my 5 yr old Kenmore Fridge. I called S&S after hours last night and he returned my call first thing in the morning, and was on-site in the afternoon exactly when he said he would. After checking the obvious things the first time...everything seemed fine. After closer inspection, a fuse that was soldered onto the circuit board was burned out somehow. Many repair shops would just say you need a new board, and they're pretty expensive ($150-$200+ + service call), and put that in. But Mike got out his solder gun and repaired it in about 10 min. Total cost for the service call....$85. He did a nice job, was prompt, fast, and didn't take the easy route (and more expensive by making me buy a new controller circuit board) to fixing the problem if he didn't have to. I would use him again.

Mike was very credible. He's been repairing appliances for over 30 years and apparently is experienced with a wide range of brands. While he waited for the freezer to run for a few minutes, I mentioned that we had a mysterious sound in our dryer. He took the lid off and found that a couple of coins had fallen through and one was sitting on a surface that caused it to buzz when the dryer was operating. Problem solved. He only charged a single service fee for addressing both problems. We plan to call him whenever we have an appliance problem in the future.

I CALLED S&S BECAUSE I HAD USED THEM IN THE PAST. THEY HAVE BEEN IN BUSINESS IN THIS AREA FOR MANY, MANY YEARS. THE REPAIRMAN ARRIVED ON TIME. HE WAS VERY POLITE AND DID A VERY PROFESSIONAL JOB. Everything went smoothly and he was very easy to deal with.

Yesterday (Sunday), our dryer stopped drying. No heat. Panic set in thinking that the old girl (Kenmore dryer) had decided that she had enough. We talked about having to begin the awful process of reading dryer reviews...in a hurry! And, if we buy a dryer, we should probably also buy a washing machine. An expensive undertaking, to be sure. Then, in a moment of clarity, I remembered...MIKE at S&S Home Appliance! He would surely know what to do. If the dryer was truly a goner, maybe he could suggest a brand to purchase. I called and left him a message. Mike returned my call early on Monday morning saying that he would be able to come out and take a look between 10 and 11 AM. He arrived at 10 AM. Within minutes, he had the problem identified...a part...thermo something or other...broke. I don't know what the name of the part is and the best part is I don't need to know. Mike fixed the dryer and told me that, in his opinion, the dryer has some life in her yet. Happy, happy, happy. We have relied on Mike several times in the past for dryer, refrigerator and freezer repairs. He is highly responsive, punctual, professional and just a really nice guy. A++++ Thanks, Mike!

Mike owns and operates the company. He fixes high-end appliances. We have a bar with a U-Line refrigerator downstairs. The U-Line refrigerator could be tricky because a new compressor for the refrigerator is about $1400. He came out and fixed it for about $210. He is so honest and wonderful. He is very knowledgeable. He isn’t going to rip his customer’s off. He does charge a trip charge like $55. He charges to come out if doesn’t do the repair. But if he does the work, then he just deducts it from the cost of item. That is pretty fair. He is just great.

Nick came out on time as requested, and fixed my dryer right away.... he was very pleasant and gave me a lot of good information... I would hire him again to fix my stove, fridge or other large kitchen appliances.

I called Mike on Monday morning and he was at my home within four hours. He knew exactly what the problem was and fixed it within 1/2 hour.

My gas oven would no longer light, so I called S & S. When I explained the problem, Mike said he was pretty sure he knew what the problem was and that he had the parts. He arranged to stop by the same day. When he arrived, he was professional and got right to work. He explained the problem when he found it and made the repair in less than 20 minutes. This was an ideal experience!

Mike came out same day. He determined the problem was a water leak at bottom of tub. The seal was bad and the water leak caused bearings to go bad. He explained he had not seen this occur with another washer and has not replaced this part. He would call us on 5th or 7th with estimate of parts and labor. He did not call back on 5th or 7th. I left message asking if he had an estimate. I called again on 8th and Mike explained he was getting ready to call me. The parts and labor (with 90 day warranty) would be approx. $120. We did some more research and got a second opinion. The 2nd repairman explained he has had experience with this repair and the bearings are part of the transmission. Therefore, the entire transmission would need to be replaced. We called Mike back and canceled our repair appointment. I provided a C "fair" rating for responsiveness. He was very timely and quick to our first call but not timely with the follow up to our repair estimate. I provided a C rating for quality due to the contradictory information we have since received from other repairman about this repair. Mike is a very nice and polite man. I was impressed with his responsiveness to our original call. He was upfront about not replacing this part before and I appreciated this greatly. I would not use this company again due to the 90 day labor warranty. Others offer 1 year labor warranty.

Mike arrived promptly at 12:15 and immediately got to work. He checked out the starter relay on the fridge and then checked the compressor. He then diagnosed it as a bad compressor problem and advised that I check with Amana since the compressor warranty was still on. He then started to work on the dishwasher door and after removing a cover found that a "silencor" cover inside the machine was obstructing the hinge. He removed it and fixed the dishwasher door. Since I had him I also asked if he could investigate why the dryer was not drying efficiently. He then went and looked at it, cleaned the dryer vent (with a leafblower) and replaced the flexible pipe from the dryer to the vent (which I had previously purchased). Very methodically he took it out, and repaired it. Excellent experience with Mike.

Mike was able to diagnose the problem quickly, he had the needed parts and he also repaired the washer quickly. He was personable and answered the questions I had. I would certainly call his company again.

My washing machine was leaking. On a Monday, I called S&S and left a message. Mike returned my call with an hour. He gave me an estimate and said that he could come out Wednesday morning between 10-12. He arrived a little after 10, completed the work in about an hour. He also adjusted my refrigerator freezer door for me and he charged me $10 less than his estimate. He was very professional. I would call him again.

Everything went well. Mike was quick and professional.

He was very good. He came when he said he would. My husband took care of this with him. His charge was in the ballpark of what we expected to pay. We would hire him again.

Great, can't imagine a better experience. Mike arrived on time, worked diligently, had parts on hand and his pricing was reasonable.

He was punctual and came two days after I called. He replaced a part in the ice maker. It immediately starting making ice. The refrigerator was running warm and he noticed some ice buildup on the back wall near the bottom shelves and used a hairdryer to melt it. He also showed my daughter(I was out of town), how to do preventive maintenance by vacuuming the top area to remove the dust. When I returned, I noticed the temp in the refrigerator was still warm and called him back. He came over two days later and moved a sensor and that fixed the temp problem. I would definitely call him again.

He knew exactly what was wrong, and he fixed it quickly. It still works just fine, and we're pleased with his work.

Not satisfied with customer service. Will stick with the "pro's" next time and not try and save a few bucks with the small guys. Same service call cost with GE, 85.00.

They seemed to know what they were doing. They were nice. They arrived very promptly. They cleaned up fairly well after themselves. They did good work.

My relatively new Kitchenaid dishwasher did not clean at all on the top rack. I am handy so I called the manufacturer and asked if there were any parts or filters that might need to be cleaned. I was told there wasn't any. I used Angie's List for the first time and found this company. Mike scheduled an appointment within a day or two of calling. He came on time. He cleaned a metal screen of food debris and charged me the quoted $75 for the service call. He was clean, neat and polite.
