+ -1 moreWent very well. I called Sunday night and was able to talk to a human being who told me that they'd call me first thing in the morning. True to their word I got a call at 8:50 am to schedule my appointment. The serviceman was friendly and fixed the problem quickly and even gave my dog the attention she apparently needed quite desperately. I felt a little silly paying $125 for what amounted to 5 minutes worth of actual work, but hey my furnace works so it's all good. Also, to be fair, as he pointed out, it's something that would be caught in an annual furnace checkup which would have been cheaper. He tried to up sell me on a maintenance agreement, which I declined, and he didn't try to push at all so that was good.
Description of Work: We were having some problems with our furnace where it would not stay lit. It had been sporadic, but by the time we called them it wouldn't stay lit at all. The repairman quickly identified the source of the problem, residue on the flame sensor, cleaned it up, and got the furnace working fine.

+ -1 moreCalled All Temp for an appointment at my mother's house, (mom is 84 yrs old), they came next day looked at unit and called in the order. They came out the following day with the new boiler and did the work. The workers were very friendly and did their job. Unit seems to be working fine, but a little disappointed in the Bryant boiler unit. It has loose wires on the side of the boiler motor and electronic parts, not a good design by the Bryant company, looks unfinished. Happy with All Temp work though.

+ -1 moreOverall experience was good. All Temp was there when they said they would be, and did go above and beyond what was expected for the installation. The cost was good as well. My only issue is that their 5-year warranty requires that they do a service check-up every year of the warranty, which costs about $400 if you pay for it all at once. It should have been included in the price. If I were to do it again, I would get a Bryant furnace. Though I havent had any problems with the Lennox so far, Lennox does not have as good a record as Bryant and you can not get parts for Lennox furnaces without going through one of their dealers. A good company to do business with and they do go the extra mile to make a customer happy, but the warranty contingency is disappointing.
Description of Work: Replaced 13 year old rusty furnace and humidifier with new Lennox Variable Speed furnace and Aprilaire humidifier.

+ -1 moreTHE MECHANIC WAS ON TIME & POLITE. HE WAS NOT PUSHY ABOUT TRYING TO GET ME TO REPLACE THE MOTOR OR BUY A NEW FURNACE. I HAVE BEEN DOING BUSINESS WITH ALL TEMP FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS & HAVE BEEN SATISFIED WITH THEIR SERVICE.
Description of Work: I SCHEDULED AN ANNUAL SERVICE FOR MY NATURAL GAS FURNACE. THE MECHANIC POINTED OUT THAT THE BLOWER MOTOR WAS LOUD & HE SUGGESTED THAT I MIGHT WANT TO HAVE IT CLEANED & POSSIBLY REPLACED. HE ALSO POINTED OUT THAT THE FURNACE WAS ABOUT 15 YEARS OLD & THAT THE AVERAGE LIFE OF A FURNACE IS 15 TO 20 YEARS, SO I MIGHT WANT TO CONSIDER REPLACING THE WHOLE FURNACE INSTEAD OF JUST THE MOTOR. AN 80% EFFICIENT REPLACEMENT FURNACE WOULD COST ABOUT $1800. AFTER REMOVING THE MOTOR, HE CONFIRMED THAT THE BEARINGS WERE BAD. I DECIDED TO HAVE THE MOTOR REPLACED WHICH COST ABOUT $266 (THE REST OF THE 350.95 WAS FOR THE ANNUAL SERVICE).

+ -1 moreI WOULD NOT USE THEM AGAIN. I BELIEVE TECH'S ARE ON COMMISSIONS AND THE TECH I HAD WAS EXTREMELY POOR IN PROMOTING HIS SERVICES. I HAD A FRIEND IN THE BUSINESS COME THE NEXT DAY TO CONFIRM IF I NEEDED A NEW COMPRESSOR, ETC. AS I WAS OPEN TO BUYING ONE IF NEEDED, BUT DID NOT TRUST MY TECH'S RECOMMENDATION. THE FRIEND WAS FLOORED ALL THIS WAS RECOMMENDED BEFORE THE UNIT WAS FIRST CLEANED, ETC. ALSO, HE DISCOVERED THE CAP THAT WAS REMOVED BY THE TECH TO ADD 4.5 POUNDS OF FREON (OR WHATEVER IT'S CALLED) WAS NOT PUT BACK ON TIGHTLY. BASED ON ME BEING TOLD THE PRESSURE WAS AT 70 WHEN THE TECH FINISHED, THE NEXT DAY'S READING WAS 60. AT THIS POINT WE DO NOT KNOW IF I REALLY HAVE A LEAK OR IF SOME ESCAPED DUE TO LOOSE CAP. THE FRIEND IS GOING TO PERIODICALLY CHECK THE PRESSURE NOW TO SEE IF IT REMAINS STABLE OR IF, IN FACT, I DO HAVE A LEAK. IF I NEED A NEW UNIT, I WILL NOT CONSIDER BUYING FROM ALL-TEMP.
Description of Work: THEY CALLED ME TO PERFORM SPRING SERVICE AS THEY APPARENTLY BOUGHT OUT MY PREVIOUS SERVICE COMPANY. I FELT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP HAD A "SNIPPY" ATTITUDE. THE DAY OF APPOINTMENT WAS OUR SECOND DAY OF HOT WEATHER SO I HAD TURNED ON A/C THE PRIOR DAY. I REALIZED ON THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT THAT MY SYSTEM WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND ADVISED THE TECHNICIAN WHEN HE CALLED TO TELL ME HE'D BE A FEW MINUTES LATE. WITHIN TEN MINUTES OF ARRIVING, BEFORE CLEANING PERMANENT METAL FILTERS OR COMPRESSOR OUTSIDE, HE SAID I NEEDED A NEW COMPRESSOR AND A COIL AND THAT MY METAL FILTERS SHOULD BE REPLACED WITH A BETTER TYPE. IMMEDIATELY MY GUARD WENT UP SINCE HE HAD DONE NOTHING, BUT ADVISE ME OF ALL I NEEDED TO BUY. HE WAS HERE TWO HOURS WHICH INCLUDED TIME TO MEASURE THE BASEMENT FOR NEW UNIT. I WAS HIS LAST APPOINTMENT OF THE DAY SO WAS CHARGED OVERTIME WHICH I FELT WAS WRONG, ESPECIALLY SINCE SOME OF THE TIME WAS USED TO QUOTE A NEW UNIT.

+ -1 moreTHEY CAME OUT, REPLACED A FLAME SENSOR. INDICATED A POSSIBLE OBSTRUCTION WHICH I DIDN'T FIND. THE FURNACE STOPPED THE NEXT MORNING, AND WHEN I CALLED, THEY TOLD ME TO RESET IT. IT CONTINUED TO FAIL, CAUSING ME TO RESET IT REPEATEDLY. A PHONE CALL WITH THE COMPANY LED TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THE IGNITION BLOCK WAS BAD. EVEN THOUGH THE INITIAL SERVICE WASN'T EFFECTIVE, THEY WANTED TIME AND A HALF TO COME BACK ON THE WEEKEND THAT I CALLED BACK. I WAITED AND DEALT WITH THE PROBLEM TILL THE FOLLOWING MONDAY, AND THEY CAME OUT AGAIN, WITH A SERVICE FEE, BUT STILL DIDN'T FIX IT. THEY FINALLY HAD TO RETURN A THIRD TIME, THIS RESULTED IN A HUGE INCONVENIENCE, A LARGE BILL, AND A COMPLETE LACK OF CONFIDENCE IN THE COMPANY.

AFTER HE LOOKED AT IT, I ASKED HIM AND HE SAID "I'M NOT SAYING YOU NEED A NEW BOILER", BUT YOU ARE GOING TO CONTINUE TO HAVE PROBLEMS.
