this is the worst experience with any contractor i have ever had. I have built several buildings at my other homes and NEVER had such a bad experience. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MORTON BUILDING TO ANYONE...
Description of Work: Please excuse the length of this review but you need to know what you are getting for your hard earned money... Pre contract signing was fantastic; they were tripping all over themselves. Contract signed Aug 2011, $14,500.00 deposit was put down, we were told that there would be approx 4 weeks for prints to be drawn, once the prints were ready they would come back and discuss color scheme. Prints were completed (5 weeks) and no call from the Morton sales rep (Mark Bowden). Week six I called him and he informed me that the garage doors were ordered (white). I asked how that happened without any discussions with me or my wife about building colors. He informed me this was an automatic thing that happens so the doors will be ready when the building materials were delivered. I responded to him that "white" was not the color of choice and was promptly told that any change orders would cost me additional money. After fighting with Bowden he relented and changed to color to the color we wanted. Order placed and another payment of $14,500.00 made. Materials delivered mid Nov 2011, third payment of $14,500 made. Excavation (ground build up, compaction and leveling was completed (different company) prior to material delivery. Elevation stakes were placed in the ground, discussion with Bowden took place with my excavator (owner of company) and my wife discussed the elevation with the job foreman (Morton crew) prior to leaving the property for several days. The foreman shook his head and told my wife he was aware of the elevation and not to worry. Elevation of building was to be 13" above the leveled pad to accommodate additional sand and concrete as well as provide a more level surface closer to the elevation of the main house driveway. When we returned home the building was flush with the ground (Morton completely ignored the elevation stakes and the instructions from my wife). Also during the digging of the post holes they cut the main electricity line to the house and crushed the propane supply line (was clearly visible and exposed), when I called and asked how they were going to rectify the spliced electric line and fix the propane line I was told it was my responsibility. i should have had the electric line marked so they could dig, even though the lines were marked prior to them digging (also by CO state law it is the responsibility of the digger to make sure the lines are marked). Morton sales guy (Bowden) then came to my house and essentially called me stupid, reminding me of what is in their 14 page, 8 font contract that I signed. Making sure to clarify that it is the homeowners responsibility to mark the lines. Then he proceeded to tell me they broke the propane line in a different place then what was exposed. This cost me having to get a new permit to have the line reburied so it would now meet code. At this point I contacted Morton Corporate offices and have been dealing with them since. Service has been extremely slow from corporate and they still have not addressed our elevation concerns. Because of the 13” difference have had to do additional excavation, additional cost and serious concern every time we park our RV in the building. The back of the RV only clears the concrete floor by 1/2”. To add to that Morton sales guy (Bowden) sent us a final bill before the project is complete. Keep in mind we started this project in August 2011 and it now April 2012. We chose Morton because of their outstanding reputation in the industry and were willing to pay for that reputation (approx $20,000.00 more than it competition). After this experience I would not recommend Morton to anyone.

They were very nice and professional. They were timely and I couldn't ask for anything better. I had a few small repairs that weren't under warranty and they fixed those as well. You don't get a lot of companies these days that will do that.
Description of Work: They honored a warranty and put a new roof on my riding arena which is 78 ft. by 175 ft. long.
