The Blacktop Guy

I had these guys come out to do my driveway, the driveway came out good, but the guy broke a fence panel and left a mound of dirt in my front yard with bobcat tracks. After 6 months he calls me back claiming to have forgotten about me after I paid to get everything cleaned up and he claims to feel bad about how he left everything and offered to seal coat the driveway for free to make up for everything. Another 3 months go by and constantly reaching out and he never shows up and never sealed the driveway and never kept his word. After 10 grand for the driveway you would think they would keep their word but itâ s clear that they only want the money. Terrible customer service and would not recommend to anyone else.

My warranty runs out in less than a month. Still havenà  à ¢à  à  à  à  t returned to finish the job OR bothered to return a text or call. The work is pretty good but the customer service is awful & I even put in for a seal coating @ $ 800 before my warranty was up & was told it will look brand new for at least 3 years. 3 months later it looks just like it did before hand. I would not return.

The crew showed up just after nine A.M. We had given notice to residents that all cars must be off the lot by 8:00. The final car cleared the lot abou 15 minutes before the crew arrived so they were able to set up and begin. The area near the street was in deplorable condition. The areas near the building were cleaned up first, as they were filled they were tamped down so water did not flow into garages. We sent photos to all owners. All responses were very positive. I also sent those same photos to an area realtor. Before and after photos, brought back responses of "Amazing!! and "That's fantadtic!!"

They did the first layer and they were supposed to return for the final coating but never did. Also the driveway did not come out smooth. I do not recommend them.

Did a good job of updating us on when work would be done as weather was a factor. Came to job when he said he would and explained how best to do repairs. Work finished same day and it looks so much better that some of my neighbors stopped by to talk with owner. I believe at least one had their driveway done.

They did a capping instead of a tear out on our driveway, one side they went all the way to the street and on the other side they left about 2ft uncapped. We now have a situation that we have substantial cracks, we have standing water by the garage which discolors and sinks that part of the driveway down. We have a lot of gravel popping loose in several areas where they did not seal it. He was responsive at first and then stopped returning calls.

The guy I dealt with is Ken. Not a very honest guy. They left two trees in the yard which, as part of contract, they were supposed to take and dispose of. Then I had to pay $250 to a third party to come and take the trees because the association was not happy. Ken and his more dishonest partner, refused to come back. When initially I put a bad review for them, he called me and promised to give me free seal coating in Spring. When I contacted him about more work and potentially getting my seal coating, he again came up with some sob story. The driveway is now uneven and there are areas where water and ice pools. So, I wouldn't bother with this company and get somebody else.

Ken and his crew did an excellent job on our old driveway. It looks good and has withstood a season of heavy use, high heat, and rain. He was prompt and courteous.

I like these guys. Ken the Blacktop Guy was quick to follow up on the HomeAdvisor inquiry scheduled a quote meeting. Once we agreed to a price and scheduled the work they showed up at the time they said they would and got the job done in a day. I will follow up in a couple months once the driveway is sealed.

We have had ups and downs with The Black Top Guy, Mr. Ken Lee. Original driveway dug up and completely done on 06/05/18. Looked beautiful, until first rainfall. Driveway was not graded properly - so rain remained on the driveway. Mr. Ken Lee was called and verified the problem. Workers came back on several occasions. Unfortunately, workers tried to fix with different methods and our driveway looked terrible. Of course, winter set in and we were told it would be fixed in 2019. Did contact Mr. Ken Lee - and was told they would come back - I was loosing hope, because it was already Mid September and nothing. But, Mr. Ken Lee did come with full crew on September 25, 2019 and did a good job of repairing the problem. Driveway looks decent and much better. He might not do it immediately, but from my experience, he does keep his word. I believe he now has a better crew than the previous one , and it makes a big difference. Would recommend him for any driveway needs, after all he is called " The Blacktop Guy " Thank you Mr. Lee for keeping your word.

Ken is courteous and very customer oriented. When I discussed a bit of a delay between prep and laying down the asphalt so I could put in a gutter pipe underneath the driveway, he said that he would do it and not to worry about it. He even went out and purchased the pipe and fittings then his team dug the trench, laid the pipe down, backfilled, and then paved the driveway. Outstanding service. I highly recommend The Blacktop Guy!!!

We hired The Blacktop Guy to repair the culvert under the driveway and to repair and resurface the driveway. The entire crew was friendly and hard working. The job was done professionally and the result is excellent. The Blacktop Guy earned our highest recommendation.

Did a great job. Price was right. And quality of work was superb. Curb cutting was included and my driveway looks brand new. Thank you and would definitely recommend.
