The job took less than a week. The pricing is based upon the perimeter of the area where drain tile is installed and the pump/battery backup I chose. I most appreciated the way that Stoyan worked with me. He made two separate visits to my home and spent more than an hour each time talking me through the science and the job itself in great detail, answering my many questions. He also answered questions via email promptly in an understandable way. When he came out for his final visit after the job was finished, he demonstrated how it works, again staying for as long as it took to answer my questions. He also took extra time before leaving to fix the leaky connections beneath our utility sink - something that he had not caused but that I asked for his help with. We had our first heavy storm last week, the neighbor's yard filled up like a pond as usual, and the pump worked just as he had demonstrated, so I was pleased and feel confident that this will be a good investment.

Stoyan was recommended to me and I would recommend him to others. He responded quickly to my inquiry and made time to meet with me on short notice to assess basement water issues in my new home (new to me but built in 1897). He was the first of four companies that provided quotes, and they all recommended drain tiles. Stoyan's quote was competitive and I appreciated his communication style--clear, direct, and not salesy. In the end, we went with a different company, which had installed drain tiles along one wall in the basement for the previous owner, so that the warranty would still be valid and apply to the entire basement floor. But if we had no drain tiles to begin with, we would have gone with Stoyan and ULB.

Stoyan has been my water proofing trouble shooter for over 20 years. He picks up his phone immediately and does his best to come quickly. His work is guaranteed. His solution’s are right on. He is accommodating. I've grown to feel he is like family, it doesn’t get any better than that especially when both pumps stop working due to a power surge.

I had a outside sump pump fail. Called them on a Saturday, and even though he was busy he scheduled me in for the replacement. He was timely, professional, did great work, and a reasonable price for the day and urgency of the job. Excellent service.

I've had great luck with Robert Bair in the past. I called them out after my sump pump failed. They charged me around $50 to come out and then quoted me $800+ to replace the sump pump. I checked for a Big Deal and found one for $450 for the EXACT SAME model that Robert Bair quoted me. The guy was out the next day and replaced the sump pump quickly.

The installation went great, getting them there was a bit more of a challenge. There were a few hiccups with regards to scheduling, and getting the installers there. That is the only challenge, and my only gripe. The installers were great, efficient and cleaned up after they were done.

I spoke with a gentleman on 11/20, learned the information above, and scheduled an appointment to receive a complete, detailed estimate on Friday, December 4, 2015 between 8 and 9 am. No call, no show. I will not use this provider and encourage others to pass over as well due to the lack of clarity in the deals and the obvious lack of appreciation for potential customers. The service man was on time and extremely professional. He did a very thorough job and was willing to answer any questions I had. While he was working, he pointed out other cracks in our foundation that we hadn't noticed. He made honest recommendations about what our house needed without trying to persuade us to contract more work.

The crew was hardworking and professional. We have had only two heavy rains so I can't really judge the effectiveness of the work but so far everything has been dry. I will update my comments next Spring if anything changes.

The rep was on time. He looked a the crack plus other parts of my home, not only in the basement but also outside. He gave advice on avoiding additional water damage. He was thorough and honest. I would do business with them in the future but for now I think their a bit too expensive for me at this time.

They once provided an estimate for the installation of a membrane around my brick foundation that was seeing mild seepage. It was later determined that installing a membrane would be an unwise investment given the very mild nature of the seepage we were experiencing. We also learned from multiple people, including people from the city, that a membrane was unlikely to address our problem. I messaged back in May to obtain an estimate for the inspection and perhaps replacement/repair of two drain tiles. I did not receive a reply until late July, with the author of the message explaining that there was a change of management, and subsequently they lacked access to their messages, etc. The tone was cordial, but this second experience coupled with what I perceived to be some dishonesty during our first interaction, makes me hesitant to contract with them.

Great response, very honest and gives guidance. I will be working with them in the future for the remainder of my property.

It is rare to find someone who is genuinely concerned about the consumer rather than the paycheck; Chris with ULB is one of those individuals. Chris, an owner, was thorough, thoughtful, and considerate with his evaluation of our property. He explained our options and advised us to take certain actions before continuing with the waterproofing solutions we thought we needed (whether we decided to go with him or someone else). The insights he provided will take a few weekends to implement, but will probably end up saving us thousands of dollars in the long run. If we still need services after implementing his suggestions, we will definately be using ULB Dry!

Stoyan visited our home within two hours of our placing a service request. He was on-site for less than ten minutes, which was the time it took to diagnose the problem, and determine that his services were not required. He was polite, punctual and knowledgeable. Although he did not perform the services we'd hired him for, he conducted himself in a friendly and professional manner.

Guys showed up promptly and worked hard to waterproof the front of our house. We have had many large rainstorms and water issues since and have not had any water. Basement was completely finished and we are pleased to be dry.

The foundation of our house is 100+ years old and made of large stone blocks. As such, it has developed some cracks to the point that with heavy rains, we were getting consistent seepage into our basement. With this type of a foundation, only external waterproofing is an option. ULB-Dry came an gave a quote that while a substantial amount of money, was a good value given the amount of work involved. In particular, the excavation was difficult as it is in a gangway between our house and the neighbors, preventing any mechanical digging. The entire excavation was done manually, with the dirt and sediment carried out by hand to a trailer parked in the street. The ground was not easy to dig, as it was all clay soil. Stoyan and the ULB-Dry team put in a LOT of work to get the foundation dug out (60 liner feet and 2-3 feet deep and wide). This work alone was worth the money. They then did all the waterproofing work (patching cracks, sealing, membrane, drain tile, etc.). They were also able to accommodate a last-minute request to install foam core insulation. The drain tile was routed to an existing sump pump. However, it was discovered that the pit was not deep enough to accommodate the pitch of the pipe. Stoyan and team dug out the pit to the required depth and made all the connections - a lot of additional and unexpected work. After everything was completed, they manually carried back all the dirt and soil to backfill the excavated area. We have now had the new drain tile and waterproofing in place for 2 months, and have had some fair amounts of rain during this time. Most recently, 2-3 inches of rain fell overnight and flooded the alley behind our garage. However, we have not had any water or seepage in the basement. Had ULB-Dry not done the waterproofing, this would not have been the case. All the work and cost was worth it for the peace of mind we now have.

Stoyan returned my call the Friday I had left a message and came to check out my problem on Monday morning. He worked with a hose for over an hour to determine the cause of the seepage I was having in a difficult-to-get-to place in the basement - paneling covered the wall and heavy bookcases were built on the wall that divided this office space from the utility area. A crack that was visible from the exterior had been diagnosed as the culprit by another estimator (turns out that was at the other end of the office and had been corrected from the interior several years ago). After much hosing and checking walls on both side of the divider, it was determined that the water was running in from the window well via a plexiglass-covered window, down behind the paneling, and running under that wall where the floor sloped toward the sump pump and, farther on, the drain. He recommended replacing and sealing the window well as well as removing any debris and checking the draining into the existing tile, covering that area with stone and affixing a cover that we did not have. I also decided to have the other 3 basement window wells cleaned and checked and stone added along with covers for those windows. Stoyan called later that day to say that the materials were available and scheduled the installation for 2 days later - they arrived promptly and worked all morning, first having to remove a bush that was blocking their progress (that had been anticipated) and very professionally did their work and cleaned up nicely. How glad I was to get this second opinion and not had structural repairs made and paid for that I did not need!

The owner Walter came to my house and gave me an estimate for the epoxy crack repair and chimney patch work. He also explained to me that he will perform a water leakage test in two spots on my north wall that has had seepage in recent history. This testing would be done at the same time as the crack repair. Walter arrived promptly as scheduled to perform the crack and chimney repair. The seepage testing was done at the same time, and demonstrated where the water was seeping in. One location was lower in the foundation and one was over the spillover. Thus he gave me a price for an exterior barrier - one 8 foot across and 4 feet down, and another 12 feet across and one foot down. This exterior foundation work was done at a later date by a 3 man crew led by Petar, who was very polite and professional. The work was stopped by the city of Berwyn due to no permit, while this type of exterior work never needed a permit in the past. Anyway, they handled the permit requirements and came back on another day to finish the work. I am very happy with the work and would highly recommend this company.
