Thermalcraft is our go-to company for windows and doors. We found out about them with an Angie's List Deal years ago and found a wonderful family-owned company where they do beautiful, quality work and really care about their customers. From sale to installation, everyone at Thermalcraft is committed to it going well and the final product being perfect. The doors they installed this past week have upgraded and improved the look of our home tremendously and also improved the heat efficiency. The positive difference is amazing. The men who came to install the doors were meticulous, expert and did a beautiful job even though for much of it they were out in frigid temps. The final result is beautiful. If you are looking for windows and doors, no need to look anywhere else but here. Many thanks to Thermalcraft!

We are very happy with the the end result. Barry came out and gave us several suggestions and an estimate on the spot. and was very easy to work with. His installation team came out on time and worked 7 hours straight until they got the job done. They knew what they were doing and were able to make modifications when issues came up. The windows and doors were very high quality and look great. They were very patient and polite answering all my basic questions. Cleanup was excellent. It didn't look like we had any major work done at all. Overall, we would use them again without hesitation.

Workers were prompt, professional and thorough in clean up. Windows and necessary wood replacement excellently installed. Storm door installed and sealed and has proven to be air tight. Very satisfied the product and workmanship of Thermalcraft.

Measurement for the window went well. But as a first timer on window installation, I lacked the knowledge or "insight" as to how the final product would look. It would have been more advantageous if I had received a little more guidance as now I see the window was installed off center. However, the job was completed in a couple of days without incident. Brickwork repair around the window is close to perfection. The window size is perfect & the window quality is great. Thick caulking on the outside for weatherproofing and clean lines adds to my satisfaction with the work performed. I will definitely use them again. Great job!

It took us awhile to figure out all the details and the team at the store was patient with us while we tested all the different combinations. I priced out 3 other providers and price was the best. A few people I called showed up and then never got back to me. I think it was because of the sizes of the doors they did not want the job. But Thermalcraft's experience allowed them to comfortably price it out and do the work. Team was punctual with the appointments to both measure and install the doors. The doors look great installed and work well. The team was EPA Lead safe because the doors were over 75 years old. I asked the installation team lots of questions and they answered all of them and made adjustments as I requested. The only reason for the B was that the garage door was measured wrong and needed to be re-cut. So for a week I had no door. Luckily it was to the garage and the team boarded up. The owner was very communicative, apologized and worked hard to correct the issue in less than a week. Would use them again.

I love Angie's list! I wanted to know if my 34 year old casement windows needed to be replaced. I knew it would be a huge expense, because we have a two story five bedroom home. I had two different Angie's list providers come out and they both told me that the windows were in great shape and only needed minor hardware repairs. Phewww! Barry was right on time and very friendly and helpful. Obviously this company has a lot of integrity, because they could have easily told me that the windows needed replacing and taken my $25,000.

Great experience from start to finish. Scheduling over the phone was a breeze. Receptionist has the schedule in front of her so all set in one call. Mr. Nelligan arrived to the appointment early and went right into measuring the windows. Printed out the quote and answered all the questions my wife and I have. They followed up in a week and I felt no pressure or rush at all. Mr. Nelligan is extremely professional and a gentleman. None of the usual salesman nonsense. I was very pleased with the quote he provided. Thermalcraft really takes care of Angie's List members! However, I didn't go with them because I wanted a different brand of windows. This is because I am picky more than anything else. Thermalcraft is top on my list for my door project next year.

Overall, satisfied with product and service. After receiving a cracked and an improper window, the problem was researched and corrected with a $200 credit. The stabilization arms from my awning was removed, but new ones installed when the corrected windows were installed.

We contacted several window companies for estimates for our home. The range of responses was from high-pressure and arrogant to friendly, reasonable and reputable. Thermalcraft was definitely the latter and we decided to choose them. Barry Nelligan was extremely up front with us and we were sure this was the company for us. He wrote a detailed estimate (unlike others), did not try to wow us with the "thermal measuring demo" (unlike others), did not overstate the company's reputation (unlike others) and gave us a price that repesented fairness and quality. This is where I can't say enough. Imagine someone coming to you house, completely talking down to you and then playing the used-car buying game with you. Getting an estimate written on a piece of paper, folded over and then pushed across the kitchen table towards you. This went on and on with another estimator after a 90 minute presentation and then telling me that this price was good only right now if I signed a contract. If he had to come back, his time would have to be factored into a higher price. Enough red flags for me? I would say so. Barry did none of these shenanigans. We felt certain we were making a good choice. And we had no idea just how far over and above Thermalcraft would perform at when doing this project. Communication prior and during was excellent. I didn't have to initiate anything. The windows arrived and Frank and Peter did an incredibly professional installation over 2 days. My wife was so thrilled she went and got them lunch. They walked through everything with us when they were finished and the cleanup was perfect. This is as professional as it gets. We couldn't have been happier. I would say I will use them again soon, but I would have to move! The quality job Thermalcraft did was excellent and the way they stand behind their products and services is excellent. So the next best thing I could say is that I highly recommend them.

I was able to get an appointment for an estimate with Jim. He was very helpful explaining a lot about the product & warranty. I ended up going with another company in the end because I liked their product more. They were definitely very helpful though!

I received three estimates for my job from companies on Angie's List. Thermalcraft was the low bidder but that was not the primary reason I chose them. Having been in my own small business for more than forty years, it was the nature of the company that impressed me most. The owner, Jim Nelligan, came out to do the estimate. His company is small, family owned and operated with only six employees including his two sons. They operate out of a small but very nice showroom in Villa Park where I was able to see samples of the windows that would be used in our town home. They are very attentive to detail and very personable in their interaction with the customer. Jim and his son, Barry, patiently and thoroughly answered every question I asked and even explained some other key points about which I hadn't thought to inquire. The two installers arrived five minutes before the scheduled time and worked quickly and efficiently. They laid drop cloths to protect the floors and carpeting where they would be walking. The entire job took about eight hours and the men thoroughly cleaned up after they were finished and hauled away the old windows and all the debris that was left. I was impressed with the care that they took while installing the new windows to make sure all openings were properly sealed and the sealant was smoothly applied. The finished appearance was perfect both inside and out. I recommended Thermalcraft to two of my neighbors who have gotten estimates. One of them has already contracted with them for a window replacement job. After some very unimpressive contacts with other companies culled from the internet, I decided to join Angie's List to see if I could do better. That turned out to be terrific decision. The information I got here helped me find three high quality providers for estimates and I was able to make an informed choice for my project. I highly recommend Thermalcraft.

Overall the job is very professional, and the whole team was cooperative. We talked about the window frame cost, and that was time and material as the amount of damage was not known until removing the frames. Nine windows were serviced, and all had the need for replacement of sill, and then shimming and insulating. The sliders are working better than when new. The job was clean, and although rain delayed from seven day estimate to 13 days overall, the crew stayed in contact, and several times just waited in the vans for clear weather. In the end, we were very pleased, and had trouble finding any suggestions how the crew could improve. They could have swept the drive better, because I found two small trim nails that were the color of cement, and that could have been a flat tire. My advice, sweep the area before driving on it, no matter who does your work. A few minutes could save a big hassle later. I would recommend Thermalcraft, and if we had any exterior work, would call them again.

Barry is a no pressure salesperson and the price was within a reasonable range of our lowest quote. The response time on questions is quick and overall it was a good experience. The installation people were scheduled for 7:30am and showed up sometime after 8am. And there was a small hole the size of a quarter in the wall near our light switch that occurred during the installation process. It's not a big deal, but I had to ask them to fix it. The plaster fill was pretty sloppy/watery and there were gloopy drops that had fallen below the wall. So this part wasn't the best way of addressing the issue. The actual door installation appears solid so far and cleanup aside from the plaster patch was great. We have an old house and things can be challenging. Despite the minor things mentioned above, it's still a good overall experience.

Everything went very well from start to finish. From initial analysis and pricing to installation service was exemplary and results were fantastic. Had one small issue with Door but that was taken care of expeditiously. In fact I loves results so much that I will be calling them for more windows to be installed along with additional estimates. Definitely a top shelf company.

We've worked with Thermalcraft on three separate occasions. They do great work. In particular, they are expert window installers -- very meticulous and detail oriented. Also, their prices are reasonable. We enthusiastically recommend this company.

This experience was easy from the beginning! The owner came out and quoted me and I was very happy with the quote. He just knew what I wanted and it was easy for me! We finalized the order that week, they quoted me 4-5 weeks for parts. I got a call 3.5 weeks later and they scheduled the installation. The two men who installed (who are not contracted, but actually work for Thermalcraft) were professional, did amazing work and worked well with me! The initial time quote was 1.5- 2 days and they were done in 1.5 days and my house looks incredible! Everything is done to perfection. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone. For any future exterior work, I will be using this company! One tip, the installers need business cards, we had 4 people stop by for your information while they were working on my house. Thank you for making my house look great!

Excellent service, from beginning to end. Very professional and the quality of work was great. Was worried there would be issues with this old house, but worked out very well.

It went extremely smoothly. It became a ball of whacks when they pulled the windows only to reveal windows issues-leakage, etc. That consistently occurred before we moved in. It's unfortunate that someone would be so dishonest in a sale. They were fast, courteous, and thoughtful in their approach. And you get a great a feeling that you did not over pay.

Barry provided a very competitive quote after receiving multiple estimates from other installers. He was very knowledgeable and courteous and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. No pressure or long sales pitch. I can't say enough good things about the way the work was performed. They were on time and installed the doors perfectly. I was very happy with the finished result. The installation crew were very professional, cleaned up when completed, and were also friendly and courteous. I would highly recommend Thermalcraft to anyone wanting to purchase a new entry door for their home. Will use again for future projects!

John and Barry were great! We researched and had appointments with several companies with the help of Angie's list and Thermalcraft had the best price and best quality window! They had 2 crews complete our job and we're done in 2 1/2 days! We had 30 windows and a double hung replaced with a bay window. The install was great- no drafts and work inside and outside around the windows was excellent. Huge difference in our home now! Only one small hiccup with the wrong window ordered for one but since it was not that big of deal we let it go and they knocked off $100. I highly recommend these guys!!

After having 2 other "A" rated Angie's List contractors come ap out and give me the old song and dance about how this was a difficult job with lots of complications and giving me 2 quotes-$5000 (plus I would have to buy my own windows at Menards!) and $4500, it was such a relief to have the Thermalcraft guy (forgot his name) come out, look at the window, measure it, and give me a quote for $2200. I really appreciate the take it or leave it attitude with the quote and the straightforward explanation of what he would do without the pressure, without the "oh this is difficult, I was afraid of this" line that so many people use The day of installation went well, clean up good, both exterior and interior. Windows are tight, no air leaks, was waiting for the winter to evaluate. Will use again for future projects!

Plenty of pro's and con's with our experience with Thermalcraft INC Starting with the pro's... Scheduling and coming out to measure went really smooth, we paid 1/3 up front and the windows were ordered. We were told they would be about 8-9 weeks and they were pretty close to that. Everyone we spoke to on the phone was very friendly and professional. The prices were very competitive and we were happy with what we were quoted. We made the appointment 2 weeks in advance for a Saturday and were told they would arrive between 7:30-8am and they showed up at 7:30am right on time! The two installers put out tarps on the floor so they don't track mud in the house and that was very nice to see. Installers were friendly and listened to our needs. The installer who did the exterior was fantastic. The flashing and caulk job looks amazing. We couldn't be happier. We had a couple of holes in the screens and a latch on 1 window was broken but they sent out a different guy a few days later to fix all the issues, so that was great. Now for the con's.... The interior installer did a very poor job on caulking. It's smeared on the window, fingerprints in the bead line, and just very sloppy overall. The installers started putting the window in over the vinyl window sill that we had put in years back instead of removing the sill and making it flush with the wall to match the other newer windows in the house. I would have figured they would ask before installing a window and having a little bit of sill sticking out under the new window. The cleanup job by both installers was very poor as well. There are nails laying by the windows, plastic and debris laying in our yard, and drywall from sanding all over the floors. I would think 15 mins with a shopvac isn't too much to ask. Overall Thermalcraft seems like a very solid company and i would recommend them to friends and family. Hopefully our windows last a really long time.

The owner was polite. No sales pitch like others we have received a quote from. Plus, he has very reasonable prices. I did not hesitate and put the 1/3 deposit down right away. Services have not been provided yet because it takes 6-8 weeks to build door. I will due an update once services has been provided.

Jim came out, measured, quoted a price, & took a deposit. He said 6-8 weeks. In 6 weeks I was called to set-up a date. The guys came out & installed later that week. The door was removed, opening prepped, & window installed in a couple of hours. Then they cleaned up and showed us how to open & clean the window. Payment was collected and they were on their way. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM !! VERY PERSONABLE AND VERY PROFESSIONAL!!
