Jim Nelligan (President) patiently answered my email questions over several days. The installers were Ron (lead) and Pete. They did a great job! Ron has worked for Thermalcraft for 25 years ---- and was very personable as well

The entire process went well from start to finish, which is why this is my third time using Thermalcraft. Pat measured the work to be done and explained the windows, door, colors, etc. and patiently answered my myriad of questions. The team, one of whom had worked on our jobs the last two times, came out promptly at 8am, worked steadily, consistently and quickly, leaving the areas immaculate as if no one had been there. We are very pleased with the products and work of Thermalcraft and would definitely use them again.

This is the second time we've used them and we plan on using them a third time to finish our five remaining windows. They are prompt, efficient, and thorough. The windows came within the two week time period as promised and all seven were installed on a Sat. morning (8-1pm). Couldn't be happier with their work.

Barry came out initially to give me an estimate. He arrived promptly and was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The day of the install, the men arrived right on time and were courteous and worked non-stop for the next four hours or so. There was only one small problem. The casement window that was installed included installing an entire trim and sill, and when the old window was cut out to make way for the new, they overcut by about 1/4" so that there was a space left between the trim and the wall. I didn't notice this until the workers had left and then I called ThermalCraft and notified them. One of the workers immediately returned and filled in the space with caulking. I'm not thrilled with the way it looks - you can see the white caulking beneath the window on the wall. I'm sure when I repaint the wall it will not be noticeable but until then, it's doesn't look too great. However, overall I'm very happy with the casement window as well as the other four and so I'm rating them A in all categories.

Went very well. Workers finished the job quickly and were neat and professional. My only suggestion is that Thermalcraft could have provided more help upfront with design choices such as color of siding and decorative options.

We chose them because of their price and value and we liked their pitch compared to the other ones?. They have great communication and they are very easy to work with. We had a lot of questions and they really took the time to answer them to the best of their abilities.

We had 3 estimates. Next Door and Window company wanted almost $9000 for cheap junkie windows with no grids. Gilkey was outragous and very unprofessional. They wanted almost $12000.00 for double pane and almost $ 14000.00 for triple pane without grids. Thank goodness for Angies List. Found Thermal Craft and called them. Owner came out he was very professional and nice. He quoted us $9800 for all vinyl double pane with grids. If we did not want the grids it would of been $1000 less. He showed us a sample window and a cut out. Very important info for all who want new windows. Be sure to ask and see a sample of the structure of the window. You want to see how it is constructed and all the chambers it has. Once he showed us the structure we were sold on them. Excellent window. They said 6 weeks to make the windows and thats what it took. Once the windows came in they were at our house a week later installing them. There were 2 very professional installers. They were on time and it only took a day and a half. These are Alside windows we had installed. You will not be dissapointed. The windows have only been in 3 weeks and so far no problems. Love my new windows!!!!

My overall experience was excellent! I will certainly use them in the future and recommend them to all. Barry Nelligan came to my home to select doors, measure, and provide the cost. He was prompt, polite, and professional. He estimated about 8 weeks for the doors to be delivered and installed. On week 7, I phoned and they scheduled the installation date 1 1/2 weeks later. I phoned the day before installation to confirm and the time to expect the installers - 7:30-8:00 am. Later in the evening, the installer phoned me to tell me that due to a rain delay on another job, they may arrive a few hours late to begin my door install. I asked if he could call me in the morning. He did and they arrived shortly before 8am. The 2 men that installed the doors were prompt, polite, professional, and cleaned up after the job. The installation work was done to perfection and completed in one full day. They communicated with me regarding reuse of wood trim, etc. As it turned out, the old trim no longer fit, so they purchased a matching style and installed the new wood trim. They took extra care with the walls and installed the new trim to eliminate any need for wall paint touch-up. The doors look beautiful! After the installers left, I compared my door color with the brochure color samples. Although I liked the color, I was certain it was wrong. I phoned Barry the next morning; he checked all the records and assured me that the color is correct. He said the brochure colors are not true to life and reminded me that I selected the color from his stain samples. Still in doubt, he offered to come to my home with the stain color samples. He took the long ride from St Charles to Chicago, just for my peace of mind. The color is not only correct, it is exactly as it appears on the stain sample. My experience with service providers rarely leaves me feeling that they went above and beyond, the Thermalcraft team did! I highly recommend them.

The owner/salesman, James Nelligan, arrived at our home to give an estimate with a laser measuring instrument, a computer, and a printer. He gave us the information we needed and an estimate in less than 40 minutes. He was a good salesman in that he provided information and did not use "hard sale" tactics. We liked his siding product, and we liked the windows he suggested. Also, we thought his price was fair and that the crew did good work. The crew was pleasant to work with, and when we had concerns, they took care of them. We are very pleased with the job.

Very good communication throughout the process. They actually brought the wrong set of windows, but discounted the job to make up for the mistake (we actually liked the mistake windows better). I would hire them again.

I had a very positive experience with Thermalcraft--no complaints

Thermalcraft was prompt in their callback and was able to set up a time that worked with my schedule. Barry was on time and went to work right away with discussing our options and taking measurements. He was able to produce a quote right there on the spot. Although Barry had handouts on the windows and doors, he did not go over the window brochure at all, instead skipping right to the door brochure. I found this strange since the contractor/estimate that came before him spent a lengthy time going over the windows, their construction, the U-Factor, etc. Right off the bat that sent red flags. As we talked more, Barry lacked the professionalism that previous contractors had and before the quote was even produced, I had a bad feeling and knew that we wouldn't be using Thermalcraft no matter what the price was. They were by far the cheapest quote, which made me question why they were so much cheaper. I then did some research on my own and talked with other contractors and came to the conclusion that the window they offered was of sub-par quality (the Sheffield model by Alside) compared to what others were offering for only a slightly higher price. In addition to this, they did not even mention the energy tax credit that would have saved us hundreds. Other contractors went into detail on this topic and provided documentation and resource guides. With the professionalism issue and the quality of the windows in question, we decided to go with another contractor who we felt more comfortable and who had a better window, even though the price was higher.

Very well. The installers showed up on time. Removed and took away the old door. Completed the installation of the new patio door. Cleaned up the area inside and out. Very professional!

I found this company on Angie's List and I understand why they have such favorable ratings. From the first call to schedule a consultation to the final installation everything was handled professionally. Jim was able to provide a printed out estimate on the spot and explained everything to me. I phoned back 2 weeks later to place the order and the windows were installed within 5 weeks. They were able to work with me on the installation date since I had to take a day off of work. The installers showed up on time and immediately began working. The windows were on the 2nd floor and the installation was completed in 4 hours. There was no mess to cleanup since they had taken care of it. I noticed a deep scratch in one of the windows when they were here and they immediately placed an order to get a replacement. No problems at all. The replacement should be here in 2 weeks. This was a first rate operation. I had gotten previous quotes and this was the lowest and also no pressure to purchase. The windows also qualify for the energy tax credit.

We really like this company and this is our second time working with them. They are easy to work, with responsive, and on time.

They were on time and they did a good job. They cleaned up well. As they just replaced the windows it?s very early to say anything about the quality of the windows. We recommend them to others.

The gentleman came out with all of the parts to do the repair to the storm door. While he was out he found another small problem, so he ordered the part and said that someone would call when the part came in so that they could come back out and complete the repair. He took the time to look another issue that we were having with a window while he was out, which I thought was nice. They are always prompt and pleasant when they come out. They employ people who I can always understand and who speak English. They always employ people who I am comfortable being home alone with.

They did a really nice job. They were very easy to work with. They came and looked at the place and gave an estimate. They were very apologetic when they found that the windows were not the right one that we wanted, though it was the mistake of the factory people. I would use them if needed in future.

I was very happy with the window that they put in and they also gave me a good price. Their workmanship was great and their punctuality and professionalism was absolutely first class. I will call them again to have the other windows replaced.

The team was timely, efficient, and professional, and worked a very long day (11 1/2 hours) to finish the job in one day. Their overall craftsmanship was first rate, particularly the aluminum trim. They also cleaned up thoroughly. One minor comment: in retrospect I wish I had asked them to run a thinner bead of caulk at the interior window/trim joint for a more minimal look, which is my aesthetic preference.

From start to finish, Thermalcraft, came through in a big way. The estimate was far below other big named window companies. The instalation went smoothly and was done on time (3 days). I will be using this company again for reframing of 1 window and 3 doors. If I could give higher than an A, I would. On what turned out to be one of the hottest day of the summer (temps were in the 90s), two workers from Thermalcraft arrived. They completed the job in one day and did a fabulous job.

Barry came out for our estimate and gave us a proposal on the spot. We later agreed to use Thermalcraft and signed a contract for him to order the door. Once it arrived we scheduled the installation and everything went very smoothly. The painters that were also working on the house at the time even commented on what an exceptionally clean and efficient job Thermalcraft had done. They completely cleaned up the area and hauled away all old debris and trash.

The representative came out to do an estimate for new gutters on our house. He called to indicate he would arrive earlier than I had anticipated, I was in a meeting so I couldn't take his call at the time. On retrieving his message, he said that he would arrive at my home early. I expected him to be there at 11:30, but he arrived before I got home.. Another company had come out earlier that morning, to give me an estimate for the same work (between 8:30 and 9:30). That first company called me to tell me they left the estimate wedged between the storm door and the storm door jamb. I could not locate that first estimate when I got home at 11:30 ? I just found Thermalcraft?s estimate. I had to call the first company back and they stopped by with a copy of their estimate. The next week called the ThermalCraft rep to ask if he saw that other estimate when they left their estimate, to which he replied ?no?. I found that odd and told him so, since Thermalcraft left their estimate in the same spot. He became extremely defensive about that and asked what I was accusing him of. I told him I wasn?t accusing him of anything ? it just seemed suspicious that the first company?s estimate would disappear from the same spot he left their estimate. He then started coming up with different possible excuses, like maybe a neighbor took it, or the wind blew it off. I don't think a neighbor would take something from a door when it was 20 feet from the sidewalk (and why would they want a gutter estimate?). As far as the wind goes, it wasn't windy that day and the door is sheltered on a covered porch ? and the Thermalcraft estimate was wedged in the storm door frame ? just as the prior estimate supposedly was. So, I then explained that I had decided to go with another company because of a better price and my being unsure of his business practices. He became even more defensive. He kept asking what I was accusing him of and I told him nothing, I can only speculate based on the information I had. He then said, and I will quote without including all the letters to demonstrate the jist of the comment, ?F*** off A**hole?. I then hung up, as this is no way to treat anyone, let alone someone that could have been a customer. It was highly unprofessional.
