Based on reviews here, we called Thermalcraft. They were prompt in scheduling time to come to our house, and very efficient in measuring the windows / door and providing a quote. It took a couple of months for the door to arrive (windows came sooner), and we scheduled an installation time shortly after to do arrived. The work crew showed up on time (actually, a few minute early). They were conscientious about their work, and did an excellent job with the installation, and even went what looked to be some extra distance to get the back door installed properly. We are very happy with the new windows and door, and the great workmanship. We will definitely use them again to upgrade the other windows around the house.

I was very impressed with Thermalcraft's responsiveness. The President himself came out to give me an estimate a couple days after I called. He was able to print out an estimate right there in my home. I went ahead and ordered the new door, which had a 6 week lead time. The door did arrive after 6 weeks and they were out to install it the week after that. Installation took a few hours, and it seemed to go quite well. They replaced the door frame and lock/handle as well as the door itself. I didn't realize when getting the estimate that I had to specify I wanted a lever handle, comparable to the existing one. As a result, the new handle they installed was round door knob. I also didn't realize that in order to have the door keyed to my existing lock, I needed to mail them my key ahead of time (I guess I thought they might have a keying machine in the van...). In any case, I contacted them to let them know I was disappointed about these two surprises. They assured me they would take care of it. As I'm writing this, I am awaiting the arrival and installation of the replacement handle and lock. UPDATE: Thermalcraft promptly replaced the door handle/hardware with an appropriate design and keyed the lock at no charge. Great service to address my issue.

Amazing work. I've never had such a low maintenance appointment. They called ahead, showed up right on time and were extremely professional. After a brief walkthrough, I was never asked for a single moment of my time until it was time to inspect the results. We could not be happier and are excited to contact them soon about their exterior services

The sales person who was the President I believe or owner or whatever was great! He came out to the house and was super nice. He helped me out a lot. So that was great! They did it on a Saturday morning. That was wonderful! It took exactly as long as they said it was going to take. Well, I left my husband in-charge to get it installed and the only problem is that it doesn't latch! I have to lock it for it to latch. So I got off the phone with them two seconds ago. They're going to have somebody call me back and come out and fix it. So far it's fine really. Little snafu, but as long as they take care of it, nothing huge. I have every confidence that they're going to take care of it just fine. There is no big deal. Two people came out for the installation. It was easy to select the doors that I wanted. They gave me a bunch of brochures when I went in. They sent someone to come out to my house to measure and everything and then I had the brochures to kind of get an idea and then talk about it and it was great! He was not out there very long. It was very easy. I compared the pricing with others and it was the same.

My call was answered by a real-live person and I explained what needed to be done and I was looking for the best price for the job. An appointment was made at that time. They came promptly, explained what they would do, gave me brochures, got the prices, and I told them I would call within a couple of days to acknowledge whether they got the job or not. They got the job and I had to wait several weeks for the door and components to be made. The door was as ordered and I was very pleased on how quickly the work was completed and how neat and professional they were. But I was especially surprised how they did the outside trim--it was beautiful. They really went out of their way to "finish" the white trim work around the door on the outside. I don't even remember talking about how I hated how the outside trim looked and what they could do about it. I would definitely ask them to do any of my windows when I need that work.

Excellent. The windows are wonderful and easy to use. They followed all of the association requirements.

Decided to go with a different window and provider after researching the brand of window.

They were fine, but their price was a little bit more than the other estimates we've got.

Barry arrived promptly, assessed the problem, and recommended we hire a handyman to recap and caulk the window. I am so appreciative of his kindness and professionalism. If I needed new windows or siding, I would definitely call them.

We needed to replace our kitchen slider, a dining room casement and 4 basement windows which were the jalousie kind. I called many vendors and had used another vendor recently to replace the bedroom windows. Barry came out to give us a quote, and I was familiar with the kind of windows that he carried. He was very straight forward and took the measurements and gave us a quote. We had an issue with the basement windows as they were very small and there weren't very many vendors who could accommodate the size. Thermalcraft had no issues with the size and said they could even work with the existing drop ceiling and drywall. On installation, they worked to maneuver the basement windows into the space with very little room and were prompt, professional and cleaned up after themselves. Thermalcraft was very reasonably priced.

It was a good experience. I was satisfied with their timeliness. They were clean. I liked the product overall. The product itself was what I was looking for. I did a ton of research and literally had 7 different vendors come to the house to take a look at the work I needed done. They had the quality and the price was in line. I am very happy overall. I would absolutely use them again.

All went very smooth. If you are looking for a company that is not playing a game and is straight forward with price and product this is the one. The installers were professional and got the job done in a timely manor.

I called three window companies that I saw on Angie's List to give us an estimate of the cost to replace some windows.. All the companies had great reviews and they all gave me comparable bids for installing new windows. However when Thermalcraft came they sat down with a calculator and gave me a quote to do the work while they were there. I appreciated their quick response. The other two companies took a few weeks to get back to me. The owner of the company was the one who came out, Jim Nelligan. That might be one reason why I got a quote right away. He was very nice and very professional. We will definitely go with Thermalcraft when we install the windows.

We had used them before. We were pleased with their services so we definitely went back to them. They were very cost-effective. We had gotten other quotes that were quite a bit higher. It seemed like the products were comparable. Barry was the salesperson and he was very easy to work with.

My initial conversation was a bit rough with the office staff at first. My kitchen sink was clogged due to food stopping up the flow from the use of the garbage disposal. Before I could make the appointment I was lectured on why I should never use the garbage disposal and how awful they are for the plumbing. I decided to make the appointment because I needed the sink unclogged and did not have time to deal with more calls to plumbers before work. After the appointment was set they handled everything in a professional, timely manner. The plumbing bill seemed high but the plumber indicated that he had to clear the line several times. Overall I was happy with how responsive they were and they got my kitchen sink working again so it is all good.

Barry came out to give us a quote; it was competitive with two other companies we interviewed. He was professional, friendly, punctual and detail oriented. He measured our old windows during his initial visit and repeated the process prior to placing the order for new windows. Thermal Craft is a family-owned business and they've been around for a long time. The window installers arrived on-time and stayed all day. Their work ethic was phenomenal! They worked non-stop (with no side chatter to each other or me), only taking a 20 minute lunch break. The new windows fit well. The installers seem to be very knowledgeable and pay close attention to details. They trimmed out my new windows with oak and it looks gorgeous! I have two cats with claws who were running around the house during the work. Near the end of the job, I noticed our new screen door had a tiny 1 inch tear in it. I assumed it was from my cats. Before I could even mention it to the contractors, Pete (one of the installers) removed the screen door to begin repairing it. He said he had accidentally made the tear. Many other contractors would have left and hoped we didn't notice it, or tried to blame it on our cats. I was impressed they had enough integrity to fix their mistake. When the work was done, the installers cleaned and vacuumed all their mess, leaving nothing behind.

Visited the Thermal Craft showroom and arranged for a visit to our home to provide an estimate for replacement of two older windows that I felt needed to be repaired or replaced. Jim Nelligan, the President and founder of the company, scheduled a visit and gave us an estimate that was very competitive to another estimate that I had received from a large national window company. Jim gave us a time specific date and $ estimate that fit our requirements. His crew showed up exactly as he promised and completed the installation just as we had been told it would be done. We have been very satisfied with the results and would recommend Thermal Craft to anyone in the western suburban area of the Chicago market that are looking for excellent personal service in the window, door or siding market.

Barry from Thermalcraft came out and gave us quotations on two separate occasions. He was very courteous, professiona and thourough in his evaluation and estimate. Even though we decided to use another vendor, I would suggest Thermalcraft and a possible vendor for getting your house re-sided or getting your windows replaced.

I contacted Thermalcraft via email to set up an appointment for a quote and was shocked when I received a call less than an hour later to set up an appointment. James came out and provided a quote on the spot. The quote appeared to be in line with others. l not be making a decision any time soon but wanted to take the time to review the excellent service Thermalcraft provided in the quote process.

It went really well. The owner came to the house and gave us an estimate and demo of the new windows. He was friendly, courteous and very professional. We had previously gotten an estimate from another company we had seen on Angie's List and Thermalcraft was about $500 less. Not to mention much more pleasant to work with. Windows were done in one afternoon. The installers were clean, friendly, and efficient. They did a great job.

They gave us a realistic timeline in terms of ordering the windows and installation. The installation was very fast once the storms arrived. One of the windows was measured incorrectly (it was difficult to measure), but they gave us a discount on that window for our troubles. Also, one of the screens arrived broken, but they replaced the broken screen. They were easy to work with and answered our questions. The windows look great - we're really happy with the outcome. I would recommend Thermalcraft for this type of work.

Jim, the owner, was very professional, friendly and patient with my wife and myself as it took three separate visits to define the work to be performed. We kept adding to the job a door at a time. Jim made sure that we understood the lead times involved in ordering the custom windows and doors. He estimated that the work would take a day and a half to complete once all the windows and doors were received. Jims installation team arrived on time on the scheduled installation day and went right to work. These two guys were a wonder to watch as they worked together and orchestrated the work in a manner that left little, if any, wasted time. They removed the existing doors and windows and installed the new doors and windows in a single day. That was great but the best part was that when they left, you could not tell that they had ever been there. And I mean it! We had had the inside of the house painted within the last few months and I had brought up stored paint to do touchups that I was sure would be necessary due to the removal of the old doors and windows. The paint cans were never opened and are back down in the basement. I completely recommend Thermal Craft, Inc. and plan to use them again in the future to replace our remaining windows.

Emailed the company for an estimate. I needed a large glass block window replaced. 71x38, wanted to change it to a double hung window, probably would have been a job over $1000. Got an email back saying they wont take a job less than 3 windows. Business must be really good for them to turn down a job worth a grand. Guess i need to get into the window business.
