A sales rep came right out after we called. He gave us a competitive quote. We gave them the job for the furnace in Aug 2017. They arrived when they said they would. The two installers were very efficient, polite, quiet and totally cleaned up after the job. Furnace worked fine all winter. Come spring we needed a new A/C unit. Everything was the same as for the furnace. That was two months ago, and unlike other people, we've run our air a lot because we like it nice and cool. The A/C's been working fine. We highly recommend this company.

They said they would be there tomorrow by 8:00 AM and were actually a little early. We were up and running in about four hours.

It was just fine. They did an excellent job. They’ve come out and serviced them both, just normal checkup and did a super job. I have the stuff serviced annually to keep on top of it. I would use them again without hesitation.

I bought a new furnace and air conditioner from them 2 years ago. They are prompt efficient, neat.

excellent work at a reasonable price

I have used this company for repairs and maintenance for a number of years with good results. I had already gone to the manufacturer's website to check their recommendation for a new unit which, of course, was the top of the line. The owner took into consideration my needs and budget constraints when estimating the cost in addition to the size of my house and explained the pluses and minuses for each type of product that was offered. He also made sure I received all possible rebates and discounts. The company applied for most rebates in my name; therefore, the discounts came off the bottom line - so no waiting! They also took care of registering my unit with the manufacturer. Although the price was higher than some competitors; it was because I chose to have the Trane brand for which they are specialists and not the low end model. Old units were hauled away and everything was cleaned up on the inside and outside. Instructions were given before they left and differences between my old furnace and the new high efficiency were explained.

They're excellent. They don't try to sell you things you don't need. Their price is good. I haven't had a ounce of trouble since they started servicing my units. I was pleased, they were clean and neat. They explained things to me. They were refereed to me by a neighbor, it turned out that I was his leader in Cub Scouts.

Their very good. I would definitely recommend them. Very consistently excellent service. They had actually put in at one time a whole our air conditioner and another time heating. they are the real McCoy for us.

The air conditioning unit was working, but the fan was not blowing on "auto" and also on "on". Since we purchased our furnace from K & J, we decided to call them. I was able to schedule a time window for them to come out that was most convenient for me. Jim came out on the 22nd and said that we needed a new ECM module. He said the part had to be ordered from Trane and programmed for the size of our furnace. He said it was a $500 part, but that the installation was no more than 5 minutes, so the 1/4 hour rate of $35 would be charged. He showed me the part and explained that to install the part, he would need to undo 2 screws and 2 plugs. He said it was so easy, even I could do it. We scheduled the follow-up appointment for the 24th, at 7am. Another technician, Vince, showed up as promised at 7am and after 15 minutes of banging I asked him if there was a problem. He said that the ECM module was difficult to install and that he had to pull everything apart (there were parts on the floor that were not there on the 22nd when Jim showed me the ECM module in his hand). He said that he was now working on lining up the ECM module within this other part and it was off about an inch. He proceeded to bang against these parts to get it to line up. I'm not a technician and don't know the first thing about "parts", but I would guess that parts are designed to click into place, and noisy banging indicates a bigger problem: you have the wrong part or you're doing it wrong. When I told him how the first technician said it would only take 5 minutes, he said that the first technician didn't know what he was talking about. In any case, after 45 minutes (in total) the banging stopped and he said he was done and everything was put back together. I turned the air on, and it worked. At this point he gives me the bill. The $500 part was actually $536, and the labor was $105 for 45 minutes, so the total with the "10% off parts" coupon was $588. This was $100 more than I expected. I expected the part to be $500 (actually $450 with the coupon) and labor to be $35 for a total of $485. I'm disappointed that the install took longer than was promised and that the part cost more than I expected. But most importantly, I am so disappointed that the technicians contradicted each other and that one would actually put down the other technician as "he doesn't know what he was talking about".

Our regular repair company diagnosed bad motor, frozen coil, etc. on 20 plus year old furnace and we decided to get a new one. We found this company on Angie's list and we were ready to call them when saw the truck in neighbors driveway.asked if they'd come over. Kip, one of the owners, was patient and spent over an hour with me on a a call he didn't even have. We bought a high efficiency furnace. They were great about accommodating my vacation schedule and explained all our options and explained what another company had told us in error about size of furnace, diameter of duct work, etc. Their price was higher than the other 2 companies but we trusted them as both our neighbors have used them in the past. They are now our go to furnace and a/c company.

We have used K&J in the past and were impressed by their honesty and willingness to repair only what was needed. Compared to other heating companies who were more eager to upsell, this response was very important to us. So when our air conditioner didn't work very well on the first hot day this year, we knew who tho call. The technician (I'm afraid I don't have his name) came out and, speaking with my husband, determined what the issue was and was able to replace the fan as he had the one we needed in his truck. He had no problems answering all the questions my husband had. Our HVAC system is aging, but with K&J's help, we hope we can keep it running efficiently for some years to come!

K&J did a great job installing our new Trane A/C unit. The quality of their work is excellent, and their pricing is fair. We highly recommend them.

I can do business with them with confidence because the job will be done right. One other thing I liked about them is they are a union shop. Their employees are members of the sheet metal workers union. They are a little better paid, they get some benefits, like retirement and health insurance. As a matter of fact, as it dries up the labor cost a little bit, the sheet metal workers union is trying to get into the residential market because they focus primarily on commercial and industrial. One of the rebates was $350 from the union which neutralized the difference in the prices so I thought that was pretty good that the employer would employ union people like that. They do cost more but for the most part, trained better.

I was glad to have an inspection and resolution of my problem without suggestions of additional work that could be done. My house is on the market and the technician acknowledged that and only performed the work that was necessary.

We have had the same guy since we started using them. It says a lot about the company if the employees stay there that long. We will use them again in the future until we move.

I called for emergency repair and due to the age of our unit over 26 years old and the cost of the repair, Jeff suggested putting a new unit in instead of a bandage on an old one. I knew we were due for one as we had limped along 9 years since its twin unit for our first floor was replace. The units he recommended were Trane products which had a great review. The Angies list rating for K&J Heating really helped with our decision to call them. Once they quoted they put us on priority for the install and it was done on the day after the quote. Their workmanship was outstanding. Their pricing was very good. They also gave us the utility rebate, the Sheet Metal Workers Union rebate etc. We were pleased how they took care of our problem. Kip and Jeff who are the owners of K&J worked extremely well as a team to make the tear out and install completely finished in less than 7 hours. The last furnace CREW FROM A DIFFERENT HEATING AND AC INSTALLER that put in my other Lennox unit in 9 years ago took over 2 days to do the same work. What a difference K&J made. I would highly recommend K&J Heating and AC in Villa Park, Il for installation or service. Their price, quality of workmanship and the way they cleaner up after the install left us with a very satisfied. My brother in law used them 2 weeks prior for an emergency repair and they were out quickly and took care of his problem as well. His was just a repair. He was quite happy with them as well

Other than one occasion over the years we have had the same employee come to the house. Whether it's just a checkup or a problem we called about we can trust that it will be handled and at a fair price. This company is what you want and expect. K and J in addition to having great employees and providing great service have gone above and beyond. I contacted them a few weeks ago with a problem. My brother who used to have his own heating and cooling business was diagnosed with ALS and as part of a garage sale fundraiser for the Les Turner ALS Foundation I had some of his tools and equipment that I asked if they could use. Linda from the office called me and said the guys were interested and could come to the house. I didn't realize that the guys were the owners! Not only did K and J look at everything and purchased some of the tools, they gave me advice on how to handle those items they could not use. Like the kindness of some of the people at the garage sale, K and J were in danger of getting a big hug, so to everyone at K and J here is my virtual hug!

I have thought about writing this review for a long time. We woke up on Christmas morning with no heat. Since they were local, I contacted them for service. The price to show up on a holiday was $198. They showed up in the time promised and confirmed the problem that my husband thought was the cause of our malfunctioning furnace. The technician told us that we wouldn't be able to get a new blower motor for our furnace since it was so old. We had a blower motor from my brother-in-law (who used to be in the business) but since it wasn't exactly the same, it needed some and quot;tweakingand quot;. The tech couldn't put it in but said he could put in a different blower for $700. He suggested that we get a new furnace installed since ours was so old. We said that we probably wouldn't get a new one. Our old furnace has outlasted many newer ones. My husband and sons installed the new blower motor and we fixed it ourselves. It has worked just fine ever since. The next morning at 7:30 a girl called from the office and asked if we had made a decision yet on if we were going to purchase a new furnace. I told her no and said that the tech didn't fix our furnace but that my husband and sons did. She said that it worked for now but wouldn't last and then abruptly ended the call. I wasn't going to write a review until I received the call the next morning. I feel that they were just interested in selling a new unit instead of doing what they could to get it running for us since it was Christmas. I realize it was a holiday and there was not a whole lot that could be done,. The call the next morning was not very professional and the girl needs some training in customer service.. I realize that all the other reviews on this company are very good. All of this could have been because it was Christmas.

They were great. On time and very professional. I asked them to check my humidifier upon arrival. Even through they were only supposed to work on my furnace. The tech told me it would be a $52.00 add and once I gave permission he proceed to clean, check and repair every thing.

They did an excellent job friendly and professional. Also, feel like I received a good price for services provided.

We have used K and J for regular clean and checks of our furnace and air conditioner for several years and always had good service. This clean and check experience was no different. The technicians offer professional, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly service. They are always punctual and answer any questions. They do not push unneeded work. Jim pointed out (only after I asked a question) that one part showed signs of wear, but would still last for some time. We decided to replace it (better safe than sorry) and received a substantial discount because of installing the part during the cleaning. When we noticed a whistling noise after we had the service, the office promptly arranged a follow-up visit and agreed to call when the technician was on the way (which she did). The technician could not find a mechanical reason, and made a diagnosis at no charge. We have also used K and J when we moved our outside air conditioner unit to a different location. This company provides reliable, quality service. They always have a clean and check coupon, so look for the ads.

I decided that I wanted to replace my 20 year old heater instead of repairing the blower when it died. Since we have two furnaces, I figured that I would have both done if it made financial sense. I decided to have 4 companies come out to quote. Three companies had and quot;Aand quot; ratings from Angie's list and I had the company aligned with Costco come out. I don't want to be heartless, but two of the companies missed their appointments and called with some incredible sob stories about why they missed the appointment. (Coincidence?) I had met with Kand J first and felt good about them, so I told those companies not to worry about coming out, but when they heard that...they figured out a way to get someone out to quote. Those two companies upsold and didn't come in with great quotes. The last company of the 4, from Elmhurst, spent two hours and himmed and hawed about how tough the job would be...almost impossible. They seemed to know what they were doing, but ended up quoting double what I paid with Kand J. Kand J got me top of the line furnaces and got me rebates from all over the place...like Nicor and a union...and the manufacturer...that were way better than others had quoted. To top it off, I was suckered in by some of the upsell items that the other companies had pitched, and I went to Kand J about them and they actually talked me OUT of them...saying that I didn't need them. So, in a nutshell...a great price and the integrity is there with Kand J. But I guess the more important part came next. Would they do a good job installing the furnaces? (Especially since this was an and quot;almost impossible joband quot; according to the other company). First, Kand J moved their install schedule around to make sure that I would qualify for one of the rebates that was expiring that week. Then they showed up on time, were extremely professional, and just worked through the difficult issues to get the systems installed. (Oh and I should say that I got high efficiency furnaces and the exterior fittings used by Kand J were A LOT cleaner looking than what the other 3 companies said they would use). When the install was over, they went over everything and made sure I knew how to use it all. I didn't want to write this up immediately in case there was something wrong...but I've had them for a month and there's nothing wrong. In fact I love the furnaces. They are extremely quiet...and I even heard my wife telling someone how much she liked the furnaces....and we wouldn't really think about having furnace discussions with people. Last thing that I would say is that Kand J even did little things like putting in a drip pan and a rubber base in my upstairs unit...that nobody else brought up. They did those things to keep the humidifier from leaking to the ground floor in an emergency...and eliminate the ratttle that I had with my old furnaces. So anyway, price, integrity, quality of product, professional installation and willingness to accomodate me... You can tell that I'm really pleased.

We've had our share of bad experiences with HVAC contractors--wrong diagnoses, taking off with major parts and never returning, and more. We are very happy with the grade A work this firm performed. They are extremely professional, on-time, courteous, and competent. That's a rarity these days. What more can you ask for?
