The repairman was very thorough, took about an hour, to find the problem. Tested everything. Told me that my Angie's List HVAC check purchase would cover his work. He contacted the main office to have them set up a schedule with the sales person. Sales person came out first thing the next day. He was very open and honest about the different types of air conditioners and which have fewer repairs and better service agreements than others. Purchased an air conditioner. He called the office to have the air conditioner installed the next day. I called the office to pay for the air conditioner. They subtracted the Angie's List HVAC check purchase from the air conditioner purchase plus gave me a discount because I went through Angie's List. Installers arrived late because their first job took longer than expected. But they called me to let me know. When the arrived they worked efficiently and quietly and minimized walking back and forth to the thermostat. They were very friendly. When done they took away the old air conditioner.

First, the company didn't contact me for 10 days after I requested the HVAC inspection, then they asked to come the same day. The service technician didn't like being scheduled so late in the day (he said), and he definitely cut a few corners. He didn't do the full inspection because there was a lattice "fence" around the outside unit (my regular a/c serviceman does it, though). He told me I needed a new unit (not true). He lied about some of the things he said he did (I had another inspection 5 days later, which is how I know). He charged me $65/pound for refrigerant, plus labor (my normal serviceman charges $25/pound and that includes labor). He admitted that he didn't do three of the things on the inspection list, one of which was to wash the coil (although he criticized me for not having the coil washed regularly); he did claim to have checked the compressor amps and the condenser fan amps, but when I had it reinspected the service technician said that the door to do those checks was painted shut (he broke it open). In short, this $50 special ended up costing me a total of $637 (including the cost of a new inspection that was thorough), although there was nothing seriously wrong with the unit.

There was a communication problem early on. Their Service Manager was off, so there was a delay in scheduling an appointment. However, they responded promptly and professionally once the problem was brought to their attention. Their office staff was very helpful. The technician was prompt and friendly. He showed me the significant problem which was a very dirty condenser and gave me some helpful advice. They were not "pushy" and trying to sell me something. My impression of this company was positive and I would use them again.

It turned out very well. It only took them an hour to do, and they found that all of our vents were closed which lead to the A/C seizing up.

The new system is working is fine. I just left them a key to my house to do the work, while I was on vacation.

They did fine, but not really outstanding. They did what they said they would, and their pricing was good.

Rc’s did a great job! They first provided us with an estimate that included several options. They then removed the old unit, hauled it away, and installed the new system. I really liked how well they cleaned up after themselves. Their technician took the time to explain the new unit thoroughly and how it operates. Overall, we experienced no negative issues with this company.

It was as good an experience as could be expected considering the scope and length of the work. They gave us a discount because of our long and previous relationship and purchase of various equipment from them in the past. That was greatly appreciated.
