Lawn care happens every second week. They do it on weekends. It costs $40 every time they do it. They're pretty good, we've been working with them for years. The price is competitive, it's good. Actually they're charging me less than my neighbors. They do a great job. They're professional. They're fast, they're done in 15-20 minutes. They've got four people for each lawn, one is doing lawn mowing on a ride-on lawn mower and then another one is doing the edging, the third person who comes in with a blower is blowing the grass from your patio, from your deck, cleaning up stuff, moving the lawn furniture back to where it was before. I don't have too big of a yard.

Sometimes I ask them to do some more stuff. Sometimes they do aeration, every second year dethatching; extra services, which I pay extra. Aeration, dethatching and overseeding is separate. They charge whenever I ask for that and it varies. It's average around $150 for all three services.

I've been using Alvarez for several months to cut grass. They do a nice job at a reasonable price. This is our first Summer in the house, and we hadn't hired anyone at the start of the season, so we missed out on a spring cleanup. I called Alvarez in the morning to ask about removing the tall weeds that had overwhelmed our front-yard planting bed. They appeared the same day and shook their heads ruefully at the density and height of the weeds. I gave them a budget that I thought might be enough to get the weeds out. When I went outside after they were done, I was thrilled to see how much they had accomplished. Yes, they had cleaned out the weeds. They had also trimmed and shaped all of our hedges and removed invasive plants that had been in the hedges. They had even attacked a severely overgrown area on the side of the house and removed a clump of unwanted foliage about as big as our shed! They stuck to the budget and I couldn't have been happier with the result. Our neighbors gave a big thumbs up for the new look.
