the water went down through the floor to basement. Had area of 3x3 feet wet on carpet and stains on ceiling in basement. This happened on weekend. Call servpro on Mon. They called right back and set appt.. They came in and went right away to the basement... Came up and said they ripped the carpet and took the wet pad out.. Even before giving me an idea of what they are doing or estimate of the cost... When asked about estimate of cost, they said to put down $1,000 deposit and then they will come every day to check if more drying needs to be done.. Then after that, reconstruction with replacing carpet and painting will be additional charge... Felt this is very unprofessional. They should explain what they are doing and give estimate before they start ripping out the carpet.. Told them to stop and leave...

Description of Work: We used Servpro. They removed carpeting and dried the basement. They removed the nails from the carpeting, and the trim work that was down under the carpet. They brought in fans and dehumidifier, and then sealed it after it was dry.

I was very grateful for how responsive and helpful they were throughout the whole process. It was very stressful to have this happen but they helped reduce the stress! They were responsive and helpful and did quality work in a very timely manner. I was lucky that my insurance covered all but a $1,000 deductible (that's what I listed for the cost). The only suggestion for improvement I have is to provide a name/number for a point person to contact with questions and updates. Various different people were in charge of different repairs etc. and I often didn't know who was the right person to contact with questions. This was a minor issue though. I am hiring them to do some additional work on my house because I was impressed with their service.
Description of Work: I accidentally left a sink on in my second floor bathroom. Water went through the floor all the way down to the basement. Servpro dried out the floors/ceilings, removed and replaced the floor and vanity in the bathroom, replaced and painted the base boards in the bathroom, repaired and painted the ceiling on the first floor, and cleaned the carpet. They will also be refinishing the hard wood floors on the first floor.

They responded promptly to my call. Did an inspection of an area where there is a small patch of mold on the corner of the ceiling of the basement stairway. Said I had a mold problem, that the ceiling and the walls down approx 2 feet would need to be removed. Would need to investigate further in the attic area to see if the problem was there also. Estimate $10,000 - $15,000. Left me with their information to contact them when I had talked to my insurance company to see if my problem was covered. They do not repair the area that is removed and treated. You have the further expense of hiring a contractor to repair the ceiling and walls. I had called another company Adrian Environmental. His inspection was that I didn't have a mold mediation problem. Just one small area that was likely caused from humidity rising from the basement up the staircase. Running a dehumidifer was a proposed solution for future problems.

Most of the repair was covered by insurance. They moved everything out, put fans in, aired out the basement, and got out the moisture. I give them A's across the board and I will continue to use them in the future.

 + -1 moreWe had seen problems in rental property during a visit and contacted company based on Angie's List entries after returning home out of state. Company was very professional and easy to deal with by phone and email; was prompt doing inspection and formulating list of tasks with estimates; did very detailed estimate with very good breakdown of each step and what it would cost; found that the black mold was not the really bad kind, so repair estimate for that part of it was lower than we feared. They worked with us quite cheerfully to remove some nonessential items from estimate and answered all our questions. They did everything they said they would do, and we found no problem with anything they had done on our next visit. Overall, they were very professional, direct, detailed, helpful, and reassuring. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: Checked external and internal wall with black mold, replaced plasterboard and baseboard, painted wall and stained baseboard; cleaned damp moldy carpet spot and checked type of mold; cleaned dirty carpet elsewhere in home; checked and cleared dryer vent; got plumber to check nonfunctioning dishwasher with standing water, remove dishwasher and cap line, haul away dishwasher.

 + -1 moreRecovering after a flooded basement is tense at best but the Servpro crew made the process a whole lot less painful. We will be able to go back and fix the floors when the crew has dried out the basement. Everyone who was working there was very professional and courteous to us and the homeowner. They kept in constant contact about what was going on and what was going to happen. Mike, the foreman, let us know where we could do the work to help save the home owner money. He had her best interests in mind and we liked that. The whole process will take a few days but in that time we should have a dry basement that we can put back together. I would highly recommend Servpro for any type of disaster restoration.
Description of Work: After water had damaged my client's basement, the insurance company called Servpro and they showed up within the hour of us arriving. We were there to make sure the sump pump would work properly and there was water everywhere. The friendly staff at Servpro helped us to soothe the customer and her worries. They were able to save the carpet but not the pad and to keep the homeowner's cost down, allowed us to help with the moving of the objects and the baseboards. They consulted us as to where they could cut the carpet so that later we could re-seam it and put her basement back together. They were very helpful and communicative and worked with us to make sure that the price stayed below the homeowner's insurance cap. This is a home we had done a lot of work in previously and these clients are practically family so we wanted to help out in any way we could. They continued to communicate with both the homeowner and us to make sure that the situation had the best possible outcome.

THEY WERE VERY RESPECTFUL AND THEY ARE QUITE PROFESSIONAL. WE HAD WATER DAMAGE DUE TO HURRICANE IKE. AT LEAST THE END OF IKE. IT DUMPED 7.5" OF WATER IN 2 DAYS. WE ENDED UP WITH 7" OF SEWER WATER IN OUR BASEMENT. THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOLD US TO CALL SERVPRO. I'M SO GLAD WE DID.
Description of Work: SERVPRO CAME IN AND CLEANED UP ALL THE WATER DAMAGE. THEY PUT FANS AND A DE-HUMIDIFIER IN THE BASEMENT WHERE THE DAMAGE WAS.

This company is very professional and has experienced employees. Unfortunately, they have had to come to my house 3 times in the past 4 months because of my flooded basement. The first time they were recommended by my insurance agent and had to clean up after a less than professional company. The other two times, I called them immediately. I think they do an excellent job.
Description of Work: They cleaned up a flooded basement. They had to remove carpet and pad and then applied anti-microbial agent. Extracted water from the floor with a powerful truck-mounted vacuum. Measured amount of humidity. Provided large commercial fans. Provided a large commercial dehumidifier. Monitored equipment over a period of several days until humidity level was acceptable. Checked for water damage.
