+ -1 moreHad a shower door installed last month. First off I can honestly say the the installer was really good. He did a nice job and asked a lot of questions to make sure I was happy and that everything was done to my liking. He basically paid attention to detail. As far as the rest of the process with Schaaf, I'm not impressed at all. First off we paid a good penney for this, the salesperson was completely hands off after taking our money and not once did he reach out to see if everything went well and that we were happy. Whether or not that is his his responsibility, SOMEONE from that company should be doing follow up after the job is complete. It is my opinion that in any project that is being done on your home, auto or whatever , a company rep should ALWAYS do follow up to see if everything that was done correctly. I also emailed him to ask about anther quote for a garage service door which instead of calling me or having a door guy call me he just said to call the office to arrange a quote. Nice customer service. As it turns out they have now lost my other business to another window company for my other projects such as the service door and windows.

+ -1 moreSuperb experience. Never used them before. Lender for sale of my mother's condo required quick turnaround replacement of windows. Very responsive. Timely bid. Price very reasonable. Office side kept us well informed of order status. Flexible in scheduling and understood the need to complete the work timely. I am in multifamily residential real estate so have worked with alot of contractors. As for as I am concerned, Schaaf gets an A with 5 gold stars.
Description of Work: Replacement of existing fogged insulatling glass units and one glass and sash assembly on a very tight schedule.

Description of Work: We chose all vinyl double hung windows from their supplier |Jeld-wen. Verdict is still out on overall quality, but so far it's been fine. There were build issues with three large windows but the Schaaf rep had the manufacturer come and repair them.

+ -1 moreThey're very good. I've been using them for a while. I had some other people come out and tell me I needed more work. They said I didn't need that work. They told me exactly what I needed. I made an appointment and they came out on time. They did the work and I was happy with the work.
Description of Work: They came out and did an inspection. They told me what I needed. They replaced the windows and did the weather stripping around the windows.

Description of Work: Schaaf replaced eight windows in our home and did so in just one day. The carpenters worked very well together, making the whole process flow from old window removal to new window installation. They cleaned up each room when finished and replaced window treatments as needed. My husband and I are very pleased with their work and will have them come back to finish the rest of our windows. It was a pleasure having them work in our home.

They had some couple points that made sense but I ended up getting the same thing from another company for a cheaper price. They were responsive and they called me right away.

Description of Work: We know that for the South Suburbs that Schaaf Windows is very professional, economically priced and good quality. We had our patio door done by them over 10yrs ago, through a family member who was a contractor/general carpenter and we also had our front bay windows replaced at the same time by Schaaf. Knowing this I contacted them for an estimate through Angies's List for a glass shower door for a small bathroom remodel. Since our house is older even when getting redone, nothing is totally squared and leveled. They saw that after I tiled that one wall bowed "in" not out. So I knew what I was looking for, a glass shower door with a slider piece on each side to make the adjustment. They thought they only had one style and one manufacturer with that product but when the Guy called me back he said that they know longer work with that manufacturer and he has no other manufacturer with that kind of product that they work with that he could use. That was the only problem I had, was that they didn't even know who they worked with still or not? But he was still very helpful and also didn't want to chance any work since he didn't have that type of door to work with and wouldn't have been able to warranty the work if he had to do a work around , because a seemless door would not work. Other than that issue, they were very prompt in returning calls, coming to estimate to look at the job and also try to do their best to make it work but realize they would not just take my money and get it to the quality that I wanted even though it was my flaw in the tile. I'm realistic with home improvements. They did recommend some direct companies to look at otherwise. I would still call them for another estimate if needed.

+ 1 moreSchaaf installed the windows and doors when the house was newly built and we have used them over the years for minor repairs. They are professional and always answer their phone. When I talk to them they are knowledgeable and always get me to the right person to help me. When they came to do the job they were quick and efficient and were in and out within minutes. They didn't even charge me for the repair. I will definitely continue to use them in the future.
Description of Work: Schaaf replaced the rollers for our sliding glass doors.
