Porterhouse Heating & Cooling

Porterhouse Heating and Cooling was very professional and knowledgeable on the service provided. I used them to install my air conditioner unit. Eventhough, the unit was not my issue, they still came out and was able to find the issue and fix it. They were friendly, professional, and reasonably priced. I will definitely use again for any of my HVAC concerns.

Worker did ok but was not familiar with replacing the space guard filter. No problem, I did it myself. But this is a common filter & the tech should have experience with it.

It went VERY well. I called them when it was extremely cold, and they were backed up with calls. I stated my case to them (passionately), and within 5 hours, the heat was back on. Sean also found some other issues which he later fixed, as well. He explained the problem to me and my tenant, sent me video. My tenant was happy, and so am I!!!

I realized I needed to have the furnace cleaned and inspected as it had not been done in quite some time. They had done work for me in the past, and I saw the Angie's List coupon, so I called. We set up an appointment for the following Saturday morning. They went to the house and did a fantastic job. They even took the time to answer my 101 questions and helped me to make sure I was putting the filter in correctly. I will always call these guys. They are prompt, professional and very helpful. They take the time to do an outstanding job!

Shawn came out to the house only a couple of hours after our call. He was very responsive, informative and honest about our needs. The next day his team came out and replaced both units! The work was done very professionally and promptly. They were very friendly and helpful. We are very happy about the results. Also, their pricing was much more reasonable than competitors. Showed up on time and quickly fixed the problem

I agreed to pay $85.00 for the service call that I was told it will be deducted from the final cost of the work, and Mr. Porter came to give me the price quote. I had several repairs done around the house that I bought couple months ago, and the flexible duct replacement was the last one I needed to be done. The quote he gave me was outrages, but I already paid $85.00 which he told me it will be included in the final price. He told me that normally he would have charge $300.00 for this type of work, but because the entry to the attic was difficult, and it is hot in the attic, and his employee will hate this work, he told me that he will charge me $575.00. I really wanted this to be done, and I already paid $85.00, so I agreed for him to do the work. I am convinced that Mr. Porter terribly overcharged me for the flexible duct installation that took about on hour of work and the material that cost about $60.00. I also think that he simply added $85.00 to the price he wanted to charge me, so it was not really deducted from the final price. I also asked him if he would honor the coupon of $35.00 that I have printed from Angie's list, but unfortunately, I asked him before he gave me the final quote, so he simply added the $35.00 to the final price. The cost of this job should have been $300.00 as he told me he would have charged if there was easy entry to the attic. He added $85.00 on the top of $300.00(which should have been deducted from $300.00), plus $35.00 the amount of the coupon (that should have been deducted from $300.00), plus $155. The final cost was as follow: 300 – normal price 85 – service call 35 – coupon from Angie’s list 155 – on the top of $420.00 575.00 – total price I don’t think this was a fair price, for again, an hour of work and $60 worth of material. The employee didn’t seem to mind the entry. He told me he has seeing much worst. He didn’t have any problem getting in and out of the attic. I hired Mr. Porter because I found his company listed on Angie’s List and I trusted that I will be treated fairly, but this is not even close to fair. He overcharged $275.00 for the work that should have cost $300.00 not $575.00. After reading Mr. Porter's respond to my review, I've got worried and I went to the attic to see if there was animal waste there. I was unable to see any. I also called him (per his suggestion) to discuss partial refund, however after brief conversation, he told me he will call me back, but I haven't hear from him again.

Sean came out on Labor Day! Even though my situation wasn't an emergency. He communicated with me before, during and after the service and arrived exactly on time. He explained to me the work he would be doing and answered my questions regarding how my Nest thermostat interfaced with my furnace. I will be using Porterhouse for all my future HVAC needs.

They were great. We didn't really shop around. They fixed the problem. They came out in a day, actually within an hour, so responsiveness was good.

Great experience, called at 9:30am, Shawn call right back and set the arrival time between 10:30 and 11:30 he called 15 minutes before he got to the house 11:35. Very courteous, prompt, knowledgeable, professional. He replaced the bad igniter and cleaned the furnace. I can't say enough on how happy I am with his service. I will use Porterhouse again and will recommend them. A+++++++
