JONDEC PAINTING

John Van Groningen the owner of the company came out at a time that worked for me on November 5, 2012 to give me a free estimate on the entire painting and fixing job. John gave me a detailed quote of every room and area of the interior of the house that was going to be painted and that was painted on November 15th and 16th. The painting crew was very professional and the entire experience went great. The painting project was started on November 15, 2012 in the morning and was finished on Friday November 16, 2012 in the late afternoon.

Jondec Painting was a very enjoyable experience from start to finish. Our entire house was painted in four days. Sure, it was hectic to move all of our breakables from one room to another, but the end result was so worth it. The crew chief John was above great. He went above and beyond to insure that everything was done perfectly. The painting crew were respectful, polite, clean and worked very hard. The painting contract included fixing all nicks, nail pops and cracks that had occurred throughout the lady eight years and was done perfectly. My house now looks brand new. I would recommend Jondec to everyone and I have already given out their business cards to four people.

Overall, everything was great. I did have an issue with the coverage in spots. I contacted Matt. He came out personally and did the necessary touch up. Would definitely use this company again.

Promptly provided me with an estimate, and promptly scheduled the job once I agreed. They did a great job. One year later and the floor still looks great.

From the initial consultation to the day of service, they were very punctual, professional, honest, careful, and calm. I never got the impression that they were rushing, which is something I've experienced often in the past by painters. They were very careful moving equipment in and out of my building, did not drip or splatter paint, and worked with confidence and passion. We were very happy with Jondec Painting. They sent a crew of four painters to our home for a week. The crew chief went over the plan every morning with us, checked in throughout the day about how the work was proceeding, and acted in a professional manner the entire time. Their work was excellent. They cleaned up and moved all of our furniture back when they were finished. They completed the work within the time they estimated. Also, they were extremely nice to our children! We would definitely use them again.

The estimate was scheduled for a convenient time for me. They offered to come out the next week to start the job but I needed a little more time. I scheduled an appointment with the color consultant for a couple of days later. She came as scheduled, we selected colors using her samples and she got the details to the team leader for my job the next day. The team leader confirmed the appointment a day before coming and he and the crew arrived on time. The painters walked through their process with me and validated the order in which the rooms would be painted. They changed things around based on a furniture delivery I was expecting while they would be in my home. They said it would take 3 days and it took exactly that with the last day being a short one. There were no problems throughout, even with the furniture delivery. On the last day, the team leader walked me through every room so I could inspect the paint job and ensure there was no damage to my property. It looked great and there was no damage.

I was satisfied with their work and I would probably use them again if I needed to.

I was extremely satisfied with their service. I was very happy they came in and looked up the place and they freed the rooms that they would do each day so that if I had to move something I could get it moved in time and it went extremely well.

I was impressed with the professionalism of the company. We were given a very thorough and specific estimate of the work that was to be done. The company communicated well be e-mail and phone. They arrived on schedule for appointments and to do the painting.. Everything was done as we had asked. From the estimate to the finished project we were very pleased with them.

Jondec provided a great experience from start to finish. They came quickly and on time to see what we needed done. They emailed the estimate to us in a couple of days. We had estimates from 2 companies and both were almost identical. We chose Jondec because the estimate was so complete and included detail of all areas to be painted and which color and kind of paint to be used. We had a variety of surfaces including wood, plastic, cedar decking and metal. Jondec indicated on the proposal and used the appropriate paints for each. They emailed us a date and let us select the start time for the painting. The work took 2 days and both days the painters were on time, worked diligently and were courteous. Even to the fact that although they had a radio playing I couldn't hear it inside the house. And the work was done so well and so neatly. When the work was complete the painters simply left and Jondec emailed us the invoice. It went incredibly smooth. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them.

We have used JonDec many times in the past and they are a terrific company with great customer service. Matt and his assistant arrived on time and set immediately to work. They completed their typical protective preparation by covering all flooring, vanities, cabinets, etc with drop cloths and plastic sheeting. They moved and replaced furniture without mishap. The removed and properly replaced window treatments in the kitchen. The guys worked steadily throughout the day and made all adjustments we requested. The finished product was spectacular. They are polite, hardworking guys that you would feel comfortable having in your home. Update: Forgot to mention that John, the Owner, allowed the guys to do some touch ups with no charge for us in our new master bath that was painted by the contractors who remodeled our bathroom.

Jimmy Nieves and Laura Chillmon arrived as scheduled. and performed services as provided above. They cleaned all the windows and made sure they had a clean dry surface to work with. Initially I was concerned about putting caulk over caulk in instances where they could not remove all the old. (the previous old caulk job was sloppy and the caulk was a grey color on my while vinyl clad wood windows). In those instances Jimmy put a very thin bead of white caulk over the grey; very neatly done and still weather sealed. When finished, all the windows with the now white caulk makes them look brand new. They cleaned up in a professional manner and were finished within 2 hours at the most. JonDec had previously painted my interior home this year and they were the first company I considered when needing this caulking work done. I

From the time they arrived to the time they left, they were great. He were here for just under 6 hours doing the work. Another associate came and provided the insurance information when I requested. He were sure to provide me with his insurance information when I requested it. Overall, it was a very good experience.

From the first contact with Jondec to the last day of the job completion it was one of the best experiences we have ever had with a contractor. They re the best.

John Van Groningen arrived on appointed estimate date on time. I told him we were planning on moving and wanted the rooms "freshened up". As the walls did not look that bad, John suggested one final coat on bedroom walls; in hallway 2 coats on ceiling and 2 coats on the walls. In the LR and DR and entry hall 1 coat finished paint. From the time John came for the estimate till the time they started work was only 1 week. John's son Matt kept in touch with me by e-mail and phone. I had a choice of a.m. starting times. Jimmy Nieves the crew leader and Blake Ryan his assistant arrived promptly at 8:00am the day of start. The upstairs only took 2 days for EVERYTHING mentioned.They were very professional from the start; putting down dropcloths, covering doors when they had to sand any patchwork. They worked in unision throughout the job. One man would take down the wallpaper, the next man was right behind washing the glue off; or if walls were drying in one bedroom, they were on to the next one or gel staining baseboards. No time was wasted. For only 2 men, they worked like a "well oiled machine". I'm a bit of a clean freak but I had no worries with Jim and Blake. Any questions I had they were only to glad to answer or explain. An extremely large stress crack on the ceiling at the bottom of the stairway which previous painters had not been able to fix properly was finally accomplished by these 2 men. It's a very odd angle, not even a 45 degree, yet Blake was able to patch it as if it's never been there. 2 weeks later they were back out to tackle the LR and DR. My wood floors are finished in those 2 rooms. They first laid down a special tacky paper that would stay in place; then they put down their dropcloths. I had tied back and covered my vertical blinds in both rooms. They detached these blinds and carefully laid them down on my kitchen floor to give them full access to the walls for painting. The only heavy objects left in the rooms was the china cabinet which they were very careful with and 2 heavy sofas whiched they moved as needed. These 2 rooms also took only 2 days to do. I have pocket doors in the LR and DR which when opened and closed had developed stress cracks near the top of the walls. These they also patched using a fine pliable mesh tape which will flex with the painted wall so as not to redevelop the stress cracks. When finished the second day, they reattached my vertical blinds. Oh yes, we had a new handrail installed on the stairway they painted previously. Jondec suppled a carpenter who came out one Saturday with wood handrail samples and hardware. He cut the banister to fit and installed it. (he was so good, we now have a carpenter to refer to as needed). Jimmy Nieves then stained and varnished the handrail and reinstalled it for me. Jim also found mold forming on the pocket doors, (when closed) and treated them with a spray and paint so we shouldn't have that problem in the future. (the doors are usually in the open position, in the wall). The day they finished up the LR and DR it was snowing heavily. On cleaning up they "backed their way" out of the rooms with the dropcloths and their supplies so as not to mess up my finished floors. FANTASTIC! The one thing Jondec Painting also has that I've found in no other company is a 3 year warranty for their interior work. The warranty they give you at completion lists the details. John also offers a 10% discount on the contract estimate or the services of their on-staff decorator which may be an asset to selling a home. We opted for the decorator. The only problem we have now is, our house looks so nice and new, we may be staying for awhile longer! Thank you Jondec!

We were looking for options to turn our light (blonde) wood kitchen cabinets into a darker (mahogany) color. After estimates from many different companies we were told that we had one of two options, either sand down and re-stain all the cabinets (avg. est. $6000) or simply paint them. For the money it would cost us to re-stain them, we could have more easily bought all new cabinets, thus avoiding the mess and the inconvenience of a 2+ week sanding/re-staining job. As we began looking into the option of simply painting the cabinets (an option we weren't crazy about) we came across Jondec Painting. John was able to come out to the house for an estimate the next day, if memory serves. To our relief, he told us that there was a third option available to us, and it was exactly what we were looking for. Jondec is the only company we found that offered a "sanding free" option for re-staining the cabinets. They explained that they would be able to apply a gel stain over the existing cabinets and that we would be able to achieve the dark mahogany color we were hoping for. He explained that the process would take approximately 4 days and gave me an estimate of $3500, which was quite reasonable considering the large size of the kitchen. We were a little skeptical about how this process would end up looking so John told us that he would bring us actual samples to look at before we committed to anything. His son Matt came to the house within a few days with a samples of possible gel stain colors painted on cabinet doors the same color as ours. After speaking with him, he was able to get an exact idea of the color we were looking for and suggested that we actually go with a combination of two different colored stains. From there we set up the job to begin in approximately two weeks . The two painters arrived promptly every morning, they were extremely nice, and extremely professional. They straightened up the floors and protective plastic every afternoon when they were done, even though I told them they didn't have to :-) They always took extra steps to ensure that no stain got on the floors, the counters, or anything else. They took the time to explain any changes or variations in the original plan before they went ahead and did anything and always updated us on what was completed and what was left to do. After running into a bit of a snag, due to the stain not drying as fast as expected, the guys were able come up with solution to keep on the estimated timeline. In doing so, they actually added an additional time consuming step to everything they were doing just to ensure that the cabinets would turn out as promised. They even worked around some other "less than professional" workers coming into the kitchen for installations (4 days late I might add!) without the smallest complaint. In the end, the kitchen turned out better than we could have ever imagined. During our entire kitchen remodel Jondec was the ONLY company, out of the 5 that we dealt with, that did not give us a headache. They did a beautiful job and you couldn't have asked for nicer people. Everyone we came into contact with from start to finish was an absolute pleasure. Very happy with the results.

They did a fantastic job. They gave an accurate quote, arrived on time each day, were polite and easy to work with and cleaned up when they were done. A three-person crew did the job over three days but completed large areas before moving on, so there was very little disruption to our lives while the work was going on. They finished on time and guarantee their work. Great job.

Overall an excellent experience. Our hallway was striped during a previous paint job. Although it was not noticeable when the job was completed, very subtle raised edges were visible after the paint dried days later. This was brought to the attention of this contractor who returned to bring the job up to our satisfaction for no extra charge. They stood behind their work and did an excellent job. They were prompt and punctual, with no accidental spills or messes. We had no previous connection with this contractor, in fact, we found them using Angie?s List. Previous customers recommended this firm based on their experience and our experience was consistent with theirs. We would definitely hire them again.

I found Jondec on Angie's List and called them. John came out and measured rooms, looked over the job, and listened to what we wanted done. He is a very pleasant and professional gentleman. He called us back and scheduled a time to come out and present us with his proposal. We discussed with him our concerns for our windows and floors needing to be completely protected from paint as our windows just had window film installed and our hardwood floors had just been re-finished. He assured me they would be especially careful. Jondec was one of 3 companies we received a proposal from. They were definitely more expensive - but you get what you pay for. They did not low ball the proposal to get the job and then nickel & dime us with added fees. Jondec also had liability and workers comp. insurance coverage ( not all companies carry it) and this was important to us as we have 15 ft. ceilings and didn't want to be liable for any injuries to the workers. Jondec's proposal includes 2 wall colors per room ( the others we interviewed charged extra for more than 1 color) and Eco paint which is great as it only smells for a couple of hours. They gave us a 20% discount for scheduling the work to be done between 12/12/2011 - 1/15/2012. We decided to hire them. Matt, the Operations Manager & Field Supervisor emailed us and introduced himself as we would now be working with him and his crew of painters. He asked about the start time that we would prefer for the painters on the dates we requested. He stated that he emailed our info to Sue DeVito, the color consultant that works with them, and we should be hearing from her shortly. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted someone else having input in telling me what colors I should choose for my walls. But Sue ended up being a great person to bounce ideas & suggestions off of. She had some great thoughts that I would never have had and she was not pushy. We picked the colors and it seemed easy. Then, we had our new carpet installed and the colors we picked seemed for the most part not right for the new carpet. I was panicking, frustrated, and confused. Sue came by and checked out the carpeting and suggested colors that would work with it. She then invited me to her home and showed me how colors in a room don't need to match - they only need to complement each other. I decided I needed to trust her expertise and go with her suggestions as I wasn't getting very far with my own. I can honestly say that I have been 100% happy with her suggestions. The one color she suggested for our Master Bedroom fireplace wall I would not have given a first look let alone consider it. It is now my all time favorite color - the wall looks like a gallery! Sue emailed me as the colors were being put on by the painters. She cared how I felt and what I thought. Not to mention that she is just an all around good person and fun to be with. Would I have been as satisfied with the colors I would have chosen? I don't think so. What Sue taught me about color I am using now in choosing things like towels, bedding, throw pillows, picture frames etc. On Dec. 19th 5 painters(Matt - the crew leader not the Operations Manager, John, Laura, Ken, & Brett) showed up at our home at 7am as we requested. The job took 4 days. The painters were organized, careful, clean, helpful, and pleasant. It was the week before Christmas and we had the Christmas spirit present in our home! They sang Christmas carols as they worked. They all worked well together liked a well oiled machine. It was amazing what they accomplished in 4 days! They are truly talented painters. Any concerns I voiced were immediately responded to. They had to work around a roofer coming in to replace 2 skylights in one of the rooms they had to paint and they would have to work around them. There was no complaints from them. They said they would do what was necessary and not to worry about it. After the skylights were installed there was a lot of unexpected plastering, sanding, & painting. This work was not on the proposal because at the time of the proposal we hadn't planned on 2 new skylights having to be installed. When the time came to write a check to pay them I asked them what the added work for the skylights was and I was told "Merry Christmas"! We are extremely satisfied with the work the Jondec has done and will definitely use them in the future.

Overall the job went very well as I had hoped. Jimmy and Blake helped move the furniture out of the room before putting down plastic and drop clothes. Next they put up the scafolding and got busy. They were very respectful of my home and put plastic on the stair rail, the office furniture upstairs and carpeting, and hung on plastic on the walls so there would be no paint splatters while they painted the ceiling. I was very impressed with the work that was done. These guys didn?t just want to do a good job; they wanted to do an excellent job and really worked hard. The ceiling looked better when they were done than before the water damage. I would not hestiate to hire Jondec again and my first phone call will be to them the next time I have any other painting needs.

Very prompt and professional estimate, team spent a week working,did a good job, Crew needs to pay more attention to details with final clean up, ie drips on window glass, sealing windows shut, paint runs, but was very pleasant and professional with the contracted work.
