Response from Emmart's Remodeling, Inc
Thank you to (removed member name) for his review, but with all due respect, I’d like to clear up a couple things about his comments. Before I do I would like to say that (removed member name) are very nice people, were easy to work with and we appreciate their business. My response to his comments are not meant to be argumentative, but are being made to give our side of the story about the issues he mentioned. First, the project did not take 9 weeks and we certainly did not promise it would only take 3. I looked back in our records and a majority of the project was complete after 4.5 weeks with only the counter top, shower door and a few touch ups and punch list items remaining. The counter top is measured and then made after the vanity cabinet is installed (the top was installed about 10 days after cabinet installation) and the shower door is measured and made after the tile is complete (the shower door was installed 2 weeks after it was measured). I do apologize if we did not go over this prior to starting the project. Second, because we could not find trim to match the existing trim in the bedroom I suggested using a piece from the basement bathroom because they had planned on remodeling the basement bathroom at some point after the master was done. I have an email stating “You can leave it in the downstairs bath. I’ll worry about the trim in the bedroom later. Thanks.” We were more than willing to replace the trim in the bedroom after it was mistakenly thrown out. I apologized then and I’ll apologize now, I’m sorry that piece was thrown out during demo and unfortunately a mistake was made, but we were willing to make it right if we were able to find a solution. Third, yes, the drywall did crack. It cracked in a corner where an inside wall meets and outside wall. We did the project over the summer and it cracked over the winter. I met with Mr. and (removed member name) about 2 weeks ago and we mutually agreed to wait until this summer to fix it in case anything else happens once we get into the warmer temperatures. Fourth, he is correct that the tub was not properly covered, but it was only for 1 day. The drywall installers started the day after the tub was installed and unfortunately they did not cover the tub. There was no damage done to the tub and after it was brought to our attention the tub was properly covered for the duration of the project. Finally, thank you for your kind words about our installers. We take pride in our installers’ courtesy and cleanliness while working in our customers’ homes.
