'"One Word, SCAM" I saw the ads, recieved an "Exclusive Invitation" to join and went to the facility. When there, what I got was a High pressure Sales presentation. To the point of being obvious about it. What you could see or do while you were in the showroom area was very controlled. I wandered around and away from our salesman and talked to a couple who had already joined. I got reprimanded for doing so. When it got down to the "You really need to decide now or the offer is no good...And you wont be allowed to join ever". I was apparently asking the wrong questions as it completely baffled our Salespersons..( as by now we had Two), That I wasn't jumping on the great deal. Well, Finally we just walked away and said No. I hadn't done my homework I guess because when I got home I googled "direct buy". It lights up like a Christmas tree. There were story after story of folks who fell for the sales pitch and got stuck for a Very Expensive Membership in something they would never use. And numerous stories of bad experiences with Sales/Service/Returns and Pricing. Needless to say but I'm Glad I turned it down, I saved myself a lot of money doing so. (Oh and the Exclusive Offer... I got another invite two weeks later... ;O)

I attended an open house but did not join. The gentleman than ran the program could not pronounce the names of a great number of the brands he was promoting. This was confusing, I was not sure if the brands were real or knock offs. I had done a lot of research before I went to the event and I could not find anything that would cover the initial investment of nearly $4000. Most of the appliances could be purchased on sale for the same price. With this group, you have to pay the "wholesale" price plus a commission to DirectBuy and pick it up at their warehouse. I can't see how this is the money saver they claim it to be.
