Went without a hitch - on-time, on budget. Workers were professional, worked quickly, and cleaned up everything. Went so well that a neighbor also hired them to replace their driveway

We hired them to asphalt our driveway in June of 2020. We had to wait for them to get to us to complete the job. While completing the job, Brian( the foreman) told me that he was concerned about one area that had not been paved previously. He said there was a lot of moisture in that area and for us to keep an eye on it. They finished the job in one day. The driveway looked nice. We were told to sealcoat the following summer. We contacted them in March of 2021 to come back to seal. They sealed it 2 months later. A couple months later we started noticing dents in the asphalt from a small 4 chair table set which was located in the area that we were told to keep an eye on. I called and left a couple voicemails. Nothing. I sent him an email. Finally, I get a call back from Brian. I explained what had happened to the driveway. He asked for pictures, so I sent them. He emails me back stating that is normal for asphalt on hot summer days and that it would not be covered under warranty. I explained that it was only in the area that he was concerned about. He told me to put plywood under my table. Haha. We just moved table to grassy back yard area. He said that he could come out in a couple weeks to make the repairs for a charge. I said fine, we just want it fixed. 2 1/2 months later and we haven't heard a word. So, I sent him an email with a friendly reminder that we were still waiting. No response. I have called 3 times, leaving voicemails each time. 2 weeks later and no call or email response!! Totally unprofessional!!! You would think they would gladly service their past clients. The driveway is only one year old now. 8k apparently does not justify a response. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM OR RICH'S SEALCOATING TO ANYONE. They have the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. Hired a different company to do the repairs. Shame on you Paul Dieklelman Asphalt Co.

They were trying to force me to sign a contract. There are all kinds of suggestions of why that may have come at me in that direction. I have a strong feeling they came here or checked out the address. They knew I wanted a quote. They called me back. I left a very detailed voicemail. I could see that they were fishing to try and get a commitment out of me. I was going to call them back, but then thought it would be stupid because I really didn't want them to do the work anymore. This review should be out there for people to see. The way they do their quotes are very subjective. The fact that they don't even return a call or come out to do the quote is the issue. If you can't depend on them to at least want and pursue the business, it can't be hard to drive a few miles, give a quote, and put a quote in a mailbox. For them to not want to do either of those is bad business practice or some type of resistance, or some type of decision making. I'm sure if I call another reputable business place, they will return my call in a hurry because they want my business to make money. There are only two of these companies in my area, so they know they can pick and choose their business. I think they are picking their jobs, but I can't prove that. They should not be not returning their calls and not showing up. It's not good business practice at all. I think that's how they run their business and they can pick the jobs that they want or don't want. I don't know why they don't want to bid on the work. I'll give them a "D" for trying to manipulate me, but they at least called me. I would never hire them again. You have to beg them to come out. It's ridiculous. They need to come out and do the quote I requested, and make contact back with the perspective customer.
