He traveled to Central and South America for many years to pursue his interests in archeology and entomology. He also started a number of other companies, an insurance and reality company for instance. After all these years this is the one that has continued. Why?? Because there are many companies that are amazing at selling sugar water but at the end of the day its still just sugar water. This is a business that allows us to really improve and impact peoples lives, because of this it is a much more meaningful business. So Sutherland Pest Control continues on… Following an integrated pest management approach to achieve a pest free environment. We balance prevention, sanitation, and maintenance. We found what we thought were bedbugs. Called Sutherland and they sent someone out within an hour or so for a free evaluation. Showed technician the bugs we had found and he agreed they looked like bedbugs. Technician searched the beds and linens, but couldn't find any signs of bedbug activity. Technician took the specimens back to the owner, Valarie. Valarie called back a few hours later and she said she thought we had bat bugs and not bed bugs. (look it up on google) She suggested we have an inspection for bats. She said we should wait on treating. She could have easily told us they were bed bugs and charged us big $ to get rid of them. Because of her honesty and professionalism I'd recommend her to anyone. P.S. We did have bats.

I called at 8:15am. Earl showed up at my log home in Sycamore by 11am. He inspected the entire house and was HONEST with me that he found the basement to be highly infested with bed bugs and mice, but nothing in the main level of the house. He suggested, however, that if we only treated the basement, the bugs could just scramble up through the walls to the main area of the house. Well, I have pets, so of course I wouldn't want to take any chances. Earl was very professional, friendly and the cost was reasonable. I'm very happy I called him. He went ABOVE and BEYOND downstairs, moving things around and making sure he did a thorough job. I just can't say enough how happy I am that I called Sutherland.
Description of Work: Eradicated a bug infestation left by previous tenants.
