+ -1 moreMy experience with them was good. They used a pretty expensive, new, powerful machine. They had to plug it directly into my circuit breaker which is heavy duty. It was like dustless. They used a stanco finish which is a Swedish finish instead of poly. They would not use poly because they think it is cheap, and I think it runs yellow, and it would not show in a period of time though. It just seemed that they take the results more seriously than other people. I chose to use them because I needed the floor done on a certain time length I had available, and the price was in line with the other quotes I got. They got better equipment and were going to use a better finish. Actually, the breaker was not working in the unit that I needed done; they had to fix some of the extension cords out the window and all the way down through the window of a different unit and plug it into their circuit breaker for me, so, that was good.
Description of Work: General Hardwood Flooring, Inc. refinished the floors and outlined the hallway.

Description of Work: My experience with General Hardwood was excellant from the estimate to installation. The estimate was clear and concise and all my questions were answered promptly. I had a lot of questions and I modified the extent of what I was doing several times. The owner was patient and took care of all the details. I had hardwood floors in my kitchen and hallway and downstairs bath that needed to be refinished and I was adding hardwood to my family room. The new flooring was weaved into my exisiting flooring, my stairs were refinished and I added hardwood to the upstairs hallway. Everything went smoothly and all my floors look like new and they also look seamless. I am having more work done next month to complete the hardwood on my first floor.

+ 6 moreThe job went faster than I expected and cleaner than I expected. Although they advertised 'dustless' I didn't expect it to be perfectly dustless, and it wasn't, but is was pretty darn close.
Description of Work: Vasile is the BEST. They showed up on time, worked quickly, efficiently and professionally. They stained the floor EXCACTLY the way I asked. Unfortunately, after I saw the color I decided I didn't like it and he changed it. Of course there was an additional cost to that, but it was my fault. They were gracious, understanding and accommodative. They were even friendly and pleasant to work with. I guess you can tell that I am quite pleased with their work. When they advertise dustless, they were truly dustless. I have heard of people having to abandon their homes during the staining / finishing process because of the smell. Because they put plastic sheeting between the rest of the house and the rooms they refinished, we were not forced to evacuate.
