I first contacted Countryside for my roof, when I called the office, they were very friendly and professional. My call was returned promptly and an appointment was scheduled that worked with MY available time. I was given all of the information I needed to make an informed choice for my roofing, including multiple pricing levels for different materials and information and background on the company. Work was scheduled, they arrived on time, began the roof tear off and found that a lot of the wood needed replacement (not a big suprise), the sales rep even showed me the wood in question. They replaced all gutters, soffit and facia at the same time as the roof. Work was completed on schedule, coming in right on budget. The clean-up they did was very good. Next was window and sliding door replacement. Again, my call was returned promptly and an appointment was scheduled on my time available. Again, I was given multiple quotes for different products and shown the difference between them. I was on a very strict and short time-table for the replacement and where many companies could not accomidate me, Countryside did! The windows were custom made and sliding door itself is a 10' door - they made it seem easy to meet my short schedule! Their pricing was good for the products I ordered. They arrived for installation as scheduled and completed the same day including the wrapping of the exterior frames and caulking. Other than the new door & windows, you could not tell that they had been in my house! Lastly, I had all new siding installed due to extensive hail damage to the house They were very helpful in dealing with my insurance company, taking time to explain to me how the process worked. They were available for the inspection set by the insurance company and then again for an appointment that worked with my schedule. The installation crew arrived on time and finished in two days. I did need to call back to have a small amount of caulking finished, but otherwise, everything was finished beautifully! They even helped with recovering the depreciation withheld by the insurance company. All in all, I HIGHLY recommend this company. They are trustworthy, straight forward, timely and beautifully complete what they say they will.
Description of Work: I have used Countryside many times over the past few years. First for my roof - complete tear off and replacement including roof sheeting; new soffit and facia including replacement of some of the wood under it; all new gutters and gutter covers; all windors and sliding door replaced in the house.

We had used them previously. This experience was not as good. The man that came out was kind, friendly and helpful, but there was a delay in getting the information from the estimate and we were not quite as happy as when they did the first roofing job.

We enjoyed working with Ken McKendree. He is very professional and very knowledgeable in his field. He is concerned about his customers' needs and about the job being done right. His crew finished the roof in one day working from about 7 am to 3 pm. They worked diligently and in perfect harmony with each person knowing what he needed to do. Ken made sure that baffles were added to the inside of the soffit area to ensure proper air flow to the attic, checked for mold in the attic of which he found none, and rotted sheathing was replaced. After all, what good is it to get a new roof without ensuring that it has the proper mechanics to help it last long. The gutters, downspouts and gutter guards were done a few days later. The workers did a great job of installing the gutters so that they would drain properly. The L-shaped gutter on the front of the house has one downspout which is the way we wanted it done again, since it has worked well that way for over 15 years and a second downspout would have posed an ice hazard in the winter. The crew did a great job of replacing the gutter the same way, actually even better than before; whereas, some other companies, which we interviewed, did not want to do it that way. In conclusion, Countryside did a great job and we would hire them again.
Description of Work: Removed old roof which had two layers of shingles, and installed new architectural shingles with proper ventilation, new metal chimney surround and exhaust vents for two bathrooms. Removed old gutters and downspouts, and installed new ones with leaf-relief gutter guards. Removed all debris.

It went very well. They were very good on the roof. I called them back for a few other mior things, and they weren't very willing to work with me. This surprised me because before that, they had been very professional.

They did a great job, cleaned up after themselves. The windows, siding, and gutters were this August. This was cement fiberboard siding, which is about twice the cost of normal siding.

This was what I would consider a very big job and was done over a period of 2 weeks with 4-5 total work days. The roof was a one day job. The crew arrived at 6:15AM and were here until 7:45 that night. While it was a long and noisy day, they did a great job and there were no issues. A separate crew came to do the siding which was done over two days. Overall I am happy with the work and the siding looks great. We did have a few issues but Countryside was quick to take care of them. The gutters were done by another team and while they did not show up when I was originally told they would, they did show up a few days later and also did a great job. Since I did not feel the need to be around when the gutters were installed, the fact that they were not here when originally planned was not really a problem - I was just anxious to get the job completed.
Description of Work: Due to a hail storm in my area I needed to have my roof, siding and gutters replaced. In addition, I had them completely remove and replace the decking for my roof. I also had them increase the ventilation in my attack by cutting open the soffits and also adding peak vents rather than replace the existing mushroom vents. In addition some rotted wood was discovered around 4 of my windows when the capping was removed. Before the windows could be capped again they had to be removed and the wood replaced. Although Countryside did not do this work they did connect me with someone they work with and he did a great job and the price was very reasonable.

We didn't use this company after finding out we didn't need a roof.
Description of Work: Just want to say that it is hard to know who to trust. We just moved in 3 years ago, so we didn't know quality and were looking for an honest assessment of our roof. Two other companies who came out to give us quotes said we didn't even need a new roof, turns out that we have architectural shingles with a 30 year life. Quote we received was actually for a downgraded shingle - only 25 years and plain tab. Visit, professionalism, and materials were all fine, and we were all set to use Countryside until we got others saying we didn't even need a roof. Honesty would have been much more of a selling point than proposing something we don't need and telling us we only had 1-2 years on the roof. Initially, we were really happy with quote and vist, and we almost cancelled the other quotes...glad we didn't.

Response from Countryside Roofing, Siding & Windows Inc
We met with the member on Monday, April 5th at approx. 9:00AM. and at his request examined entire roof. Upon completion of examination the following items were explained: the existing roof was in a "somewhat deteriorated condition" due to the following causes and reasoning: there are 2 layers currently on the roof, there is no ice and water shield present (and due to the depth of soffit it should be 6 feet up from gutter lines), the roof is currently under ventilated as well as it does not have an exterior ventilation for bathroom humidity to exterior of home. A proposal was requested for a complete tear off and replacement and was sent out the following day. In our proposal a 30 year architectural shingle was quoted as the replacement. If homeowner was upset at our proposal, we sincerely apologize for any misgivings and wish they would have contacted us for any questions or concerns that they may have. It is not our intent to mislead or misrepresent to any of or customers or potential customers. Once again our apologies.

They were wonderful. We chose them because the price charged by them was within the estimate. They explain things in detail and give choices too. They also give a quote on the work that they would be doing. They first came to give us an estimate. They came back to make sure that they had the number of vents to be installed. Initially when they came, we had some bushes that were close to the house and my husband trimmed everything. We then found an additional vent that they never recorded. I asked them a lot of questions when they came out to take the down payment. I wanted to clarify everything. The work was delayed, as we had to do the fireplace first. They don't keep the materials with them. They get the materials only once you inform them and they then deliver it to your place. They initially said that they would take 1 week to complete the work, but it just took them two and a half days to complete the work. They also had the best price. They were very punctual. We would use their services in the future as well and in fact, we are going to call them back for the skylights next year.

It went very well. We worked with Ken McKendree. All of my questions were answered completely and quickly. On the first day of the installation, the work crew arrived on schedule, introduced themselves, and got right to work on removing the roof and gutters. They started around 8am. By 3 pm we had a new roof, ridge vent, and exhaust stacks/vents. On day 2, the gutter team arrived and installed the new gutters, downspouts, and gutter leaf guards. They started around 730am and were finished by 3pm. The gutter team installed an additional downspout for me to provide some relief for an original poor design when the house was built. The team did a really nice job. A few days later the copper gutters and downspouts came in and were installed. (they were a late addition to the job, otherwise we would have had it all done on the same day the gutter team was there.) The copper gutters run on the long side of our 8x10 garden shed, and direct rain into a rain barrel on the far side of the shed. The look and work perfectly. We are very happy with the the copper gutters and downspouts. The same day the team was here to install the copper, they also made an adjustment to a downspout at my request to provide more access to a outside water faucet. Overall, we are delighted. Ken was great about keeping us informed every step of the way. A few days after the copper install, we reveived the final invoice along with a waiver of lien. The waiver was at my request and not required. We are very please and would highly recomend Countryside.
Description of Work: Removed old roof, installed new architectual shingles, ridge vent, and exhaust vents for upper bathrooms. Installed lead stack for septic vent. Removed old gutters and downspouts, installed new gutters, gutterleaf guards, and downspouts. Installed copper 1/2 round gutters on garden shed with copper downspouts. Painted chimney stack to match roof. Obtained building permit.

IN JULY 2008 WE HAD A HAIL STORM COME THROUGH THAT PUT HOLES IN VINYL SIDING AND CAUSED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO SIDING, ROOF AND WINDOWS. COUNTRYSIDE WAS REFERRED TO US BY NEIGHBORS THAT HAD NEW WINDOWS INSTALLED IN 2007. PAT DOLAN CAME OUT TO LOOK AT THE JOB. HE CAME IN WITH A STRAIGHT HONEST APPROACH THAT CONCENTRATED ON MAINLY QUALITY--( NOT PROMISING THE WORLD AS OTHER CONTRACTORS DID ) THE PRODUCTS THEY USE ARE ONLY PREMIUM PRODUCTS--MUCH BETTER THAN ORIGINAL ON THE HOUSE. PAT AND CREW TOOK CARE OF EVERYTHING FROM GETTING PERMITS TO ORDERING TRIVIAL SUPPLIES--EVEN CONTACTING THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND CORRECTING A FLAWED MEASUREMENT ON THE ROOF BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY, SO WE WOULDN'T HAVE TO. THE WORK CREWS SHOWED UP WHEN SCHEDULED AND ALWAYS KNOCKED TO LET US KNOW WHEN THEY GOT THERE AND WHEN THEY LEFT. ROOFING WAS DONE IN A DAY-- SIDING AND WINDOWS IN FOUR DAYS. IT WAS ALMOST UNBELIEVABLE HOW THE DIFFERENT CREWS WORKED TOGETHER ( ALL IN COUNTRYSIDE UNIFORMS AND POLITE) TO GET THE JOB DONE. THERE WAS NO DUMPSTER LEFT IN DRIVEWAY FOR A MONTH LIKE OTHERS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND ALL TRASH WAS TAKEN AWAY DAILY. ALL DEBRIS AND NAILS WERE CLEANED UP AS THEY WERE WORKING. I WAS EXTREMELY SATISFIED WITH THE QUALITY, ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND COMMUNICATION WITH PAT AND HIS CREW. HE CAME IN SELLING QUALITY AND DID NOT LET ME DOWN ONCE. I WOULD RECOMMEND COUNTRYSIDE TO ANYONE THAT NEEDED WORK DONE TO THEIR HOME.

It was outstanding! The only hold up were with the insurance companies and the releasing of funds, but Countryside was the best when it came to service and workmanship. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them!!!
Description of Work: After extensive hail damage, the roof, siding, gutter, and all downspouts needed to be replaced, Pat Dolan was here from start to finish, explaining in detail the process, meeting with the adjuster, working in concert with him to cover all the damage that we incurred. He then gave a detailed proposal. At no time did he seem in a hurry for us to sign, rather just the opposite. We took our time reviewed the proposal and made an educated decision. In addition, Countryside was successful in securing another 7 homes in our area because of their business practice. I can tell you not only am I COMPLETELY SATISFIED, I know that my neighbors feel the same way. The workers themselves were professional and polite to us during the reconstruction process. I would recommend Countryside roofing and siding to anyone!

The job was well done from start to finish. I have worked for a large highly respected construction company for over 25 years. I was glad to see that Countryside works a lot like I do and like I try to teach our young engineers to work. They planned their work so that they were in and out as fast as possible. Materials were delivered in advance, and they never ran out. I have the old fashioned value that work should be done as if it s your own house. Too many contractors are out to make a fast buck. Not Countryside, just one example of Countryside going the extra mile was extending the bathroom vent so that it no longer discharged into the attic. The crews take pride in their work and are organized. They showed up when they were supposed to and cleaned up every day. They hauled away the garbage every day. My wife's one complaint, was that they didn't leave a dumpster in the driveway for a month so that she could get rid of some extra stuff! Every time I look around my neighborhood and I see the sloppy work my neighbors are having done and the trash including old windows and siding being left on the lawn for days at a time, I know again that we made the right choice in choosing Countryside.
Description of Work: While we were on vacation this summer, our entire neighborhood was hit by a severe hail storm. We came home to find we needed a new roof, siding and some windows. Countryside was recommended by our neighbors who had used them to replace their windows the previous year. Pat, the partner we worked with, was responsive and explained the insurance process. I felt so comfortable with Pat that I had him present when I met with the insurance adjuster. Pat had already done his assessment of the damages and very fairly represented us. Afterwards, we decided to go ahead and replace all 31 windows, not just the 6 the insurance company was paying for.

When our neighborhood was hit by a micro burst with 70-mile an hour winds and 1-inch hail ours was just one of about 200 houses that were badly damaged. We called Countryside Roofing and Siding and they came out to help us assess the damage within a couple of hours. They were very reassuring at a traumatic time and also very informative and realistic about the process of working with the insurance company and making the repairs. They were extremely helpful, professional and made the repairs very quickly. Their crews work extremely hard and do a fantastic job of cleaning up after themselves. They do high quality work using high quality products and now the house looks better than it did when it was new.

Having done the first floor roof myself, I had some specific ideas on how I wanted the second story roof done. Pat came out to do an estimate, listened to my ideas, gave great advice, and took detailed notes. He was very easy to work with. I wanted a new product installed called the "The Edge" vent. He had not used this particular product in the past, but was willing to install it. I also wanted hand nailing which he was willing to do. The installation went very well and his crew was able to get the job finished in one day. The cleanup of debris was very thorough.

The roofing job went very well. It all started with a leak in our family room ceiling. We noticed a leak after a heavy rain, and had the roof damage assessed by our insurance company. We were told that our leaky roof was just the tip of the iceberg. It seems that when we had our house painted, the painter painted all of our soffit vents closed (we never noticed). We had very little air flow into the attic from the soffit vents. To make matters worse, we found black mold in our attic, caused by the two upstairs bathroom exhaust fans that vented into the attic, not out of the roof! And since we had very little air flow in the attic, black mold was the result (not the dangerous kind of mold, thankfully!) Countryside gave us very detailed information about what needed to be done to our roof. They removed and replaced roughly 27 sheets of plywood from the backside of our roof. They carried each rotted piece of plywood to the front of the house and dropped them in a dump trailer that was sitting on the driveway. They were very careful. We were very concerned that our flowers and landscaping would be ruined during this roof replacement process, but it wasn't. Countryside took extra measures to cover all of our flowers and bushes with dropcloths, and they put sheets of plywood and dropcloths over our deck to protect the boards. They even put a drop-cloth over half of our pool. The crew of 7 or 8 guys worked tirelessly from approx. 6:30am till 7pm. They did a thorough job, and did a great clean-up job when they were finished. We were very pleased. Their price was a little high compared to the other 3 quotes that we got, but they offered coupons on different items, which brought their price more inline with the other contractors. The reason we gave Countryside the job, was the customer service provided by Pat Dolan. He answered every question that we had and addressed every concern. We are a very detail oriented family, and he went over every single item with us in great detail. We felt comfortable and confident that we were going to get a top quality job for our money. Countryside is also doing our gutters and downspouts and siding. The results will be in a different report however.
Description of Work: We got the whole roof redone on August 25, 2008. They lifted and replaced all rotted plywood, lifted all plywood along the soffit vents, moved insulation, installed baffles, replaced all continuous soffit vents, installed new drip edge flashing, installed ice and water shields, installed felt underlayment, installed a starter course of shingles, replaced flashing where necessary, installed a new ShingleVent II ridge vent, installed new lead soil pipe collars, installed two dampered louvered bathroom vents, and installed diverters over the rear windows.

We did extensive research and comparisons when we picked a roofer last summer. Countryside was by far the most professional from the sales perspective. Everything was in order including licenses, insurance and references. Once the work begun however, everything went downhill. When the shingles were delivered, we found them sitting in our parkway, and the pallet of shingles was damaged on one side. We later heard from our neighbor, that when the truck came to drop off the shingles, the truck attempted to place the whole pallet on our roof (which I'm convinced would have put a whole in our roof from the weight). In attempting to maneuver around our tree, the pallet became unstable, fell off the hook, and smashed to top of their own truck. We informed our sales rep. of what we heard. He apologized and said they hadn't heard that report from the deliverer, but that that was a separate company, not theirs. However, when the work started, within the first half hour, the door bell rang and one of the workers was apologizing that he broke our picnic table. There it was with a piece of plywood they tossed off the roof piercing the middle of it. He said he would repair it, which he did nicely. When the work was done, we began finding problem after problem: -Their truck hit the side of our house with its mirror, they attempted to repair with a nail through the middle of it. The gutters on the front of the house were mangled from the ladder they were climbing up and down. (They later replaced this free of charge). Did not place a tarp over the side of the house, and the siding is all scratched. (We complained about the truck damage, and they said, since the siding is old and in bad condition already, that all they can do is give us a $100 credit if we use them for the siding. Yeah right! -The roofers hammered roofing nails too close to the edges of the roof, multiple nails were sticking out through the trim on the underside of the roof. -Roofers left garbage and nails all over my neighbors driveway resulting in a flat tire on his car. (They did credit our bill for this) -Left a large black scuff (several inches long, and a half inch wide) on another side of our house. Since by this point, we had no faith in the company, we hired an inspector to check out the work. He did say the roof was good, but they did not cut the holes big enough for the vents (they were half blocked inside the attic.) When we notified Countryside, they did remedy this. (they also told us by this time they fired the entire crew that worked on our house.) After all was done, we left a message for our sales rep's supervisor to express our dissatisfaction. Our sales rep then called us instead complaining that we left the message, and said he had the situation under control. We never heard from the supervisor. This spring Countryside had the gall to call and try to sell us siding!!! We will definitely not be using Countryside again!
Description of Work: Tear off and replace roof on house and garage. Replaced 2 sheets of plywood.

Response from Countryside Roofing, Siding & Windows Inc
I SPOKE WITH THE MEMBER TODAY (AUGUST 8,2008) REGARDING HIS EXPERIENCE WITH OUR COMPANY. HE APPRECIATED OUR FOLLOW-UP REGARDING THE REPORT AND DID SAY THAT WE DID RECTIFY ALL OF THEIR COMPLAINTS WITH RESPECT TO THE ROOF. HE DID MENTION THAT HIS SIDING WAS NOT IN THE BEST OF CONDITIONS PRIOR TO US DOING HIS ROOF. AN OFFER WAS EXTENDED FOR HIM OR HIS WIFE TO CALL ANY OF THE 3 PARTNERS IF THERE IS ANY WAY FOR US TO ASSIST THEM IN THE FUTURE. ONCE AGAIN, THE MEMBER APPRECIATED THE TELEPHONE CALL.

Excellent. The sales rep came out and worked with me on getting a good price and working with what I had to spend. When I had a problem a few months later with a part of the siding that had a small possible leak. They came right out and fixed it in a reasonable time. They were honorable and great to work with. I even recommended them to my postal carrier for his home.
Description of Work: New siding and gutters.

We were very happy with the company: great communication -- quick to respond, honest, trustworthy, great team of workers. Their work was performed on time and to our specifications. Very, very happy with the work and company. Just terrific. Very, very pleased. Excellent company. There are many dishonest, shady roofers out there -- Countryside is just the opposite -- totally professional and legitimate.
Description of Work: Top-notch from beginning to end. I researched 5 companies. Countryside gave us a lot for the money: Fascia/Soffits, new roof, new siding, gutters and garage.
