Chicagoland Window Wizards

Karl came out and looked at our windows and gave us a brief presentation about the windows he offers. He wrote down some good prices for us. After talking with my husband I called back and asked for a complete quote, including information on what things would be included, such as permits, licensing, which windows, etc, so we could agree to specifics. Among other things, he replied that he does not do permits with the city because he doesn't think they are necessary. When I pressed him for an actual contractual estimate listing what would be included (not just a hand-written estimate on the back of a paper), he said he did not think we would work well together and he did not need my business. He hoped I had a nice day. I was astounded. The lack of professionalism and the number of red flags really ruined my experience with this company. Is it a shady company? I don't know. But I am surprised that actually writing an official estimate would mean we are being difficult customers. It's too bad because he was personally very nice and as I said the initial prices were fantastic. Apparently, it was simply too good to be true.
