A-ADVENT APPLIANCE SERVICE

Have been using A-Advent Applince for over ten years. Professional, courteous and efficient can’t recommend his work highly enough. Tony has probably fixed every appliance in my house at least once. His honesty and good nature make him a pleasure to work with. Always manages to fix the problem and find a solution. Pricing is reasonable and he always lets me know if it would be better to purchase a new appliance rather than do the repair.

Went very well work done fast, for price quoted. Will call them again if needed.

Tony responded quickly, diagnosed immediately, and fixed the problem. He had the required parts on his truck. Fix took about a half hour. Dryer works perfectly. Tony is the owner of this small company and knows his stuff--very knowledgeable and responsive. His charge was very reasonable. I would not hesitate to use him again or recommend his company to others.

Things went well. Arrived after a phone call letting me know he was on the way. Couldn't diagnose electric oven because there was no model no. sticker. Be sure to look up your model numbers before he arrives.

Tony and I talked and we set up a day for him to come out and diagnose the problem with our dishwasher. The panel would not respond when we wanted to start the washer. He came out on a Friday, spent about 45 minutes diagnosing the problem and ordered a new part from his phone at that time. On Monday, he called indicating the part was delivered and we set an appointment for him to come out the next day. In less than an hour the machine was up and running. What I really liked was that he ran the washer through a series of tests to make sure everything worked properly. All in all, it was a great experience. Definitely would use his services again!

I washed a huge load of towels and threw them in my dryer and to my horror the dryer would not start. This was at 8:00 in the morning. I called A-Advent and to my surprise Tony answered my call (no answering machine). He was at my house by 8:30 and my dryer was fixed by 10:30! And the towels were all dry and folded by noon. I would definitely hire him again.

Tony was able to respond to my request for service the same day. He offered to call me 30 min before he would be over so I didn't have to wait at home all day and he was on time and professional. When he realized he had to order a part he ordered it asap on a Friday and I had my new water pump installed by Monday afternoon.

Tony came on time. as soon as seeing the problem he knew what to do and fixed it in ten minutes. Great experience and would recommend him to anyone.

The service was fine. The workers were fine. They were prompt. They could not have done anything differently.

About one month ago the serviceman (Tony) checked my tenant's dryer which had not been getting the clothes dry in a timely manner . When he came to repair it, he ran the dryer, it was heating just as it should, and he could not find anything wrong with it. He charged me for the service call and told me to call him if things changed. He even called me a week later to check on the status of the dryer. Over this past weekend my tenant reported that the dryer was not heating up at all. I called Tony on Monday am, he was able to schedule service that day, he found the problem right away and replaced the parts that had gone bad, and did not charge me for the 2nd service service call. The parts replaced are warrentied for one year.

Raplaced ice maker on my Whirlpool refrig. Tony showed what the problem was and replaced the impacted part. Great service.

Price: Charged $69 for service call. Charged $179 (including service call charge) for replacing oven ignitor. The price seemed to be higher than average, especially given that the home was pretty close to his location (5.7 miles, 14 minutes drive). Quality: Did the job. Said he provides one year warranty for parts and labor. Responsiveness and Punctuality: Calling him always went to voice mail. He would call back after an hour or two. Plus: Worked on Saturday. Con: Could only give a range of time as to when he would arrive, like 9a-12noon, so you would have to stay home throughout that time. Professionalism: I asked him how much does an ignitor cost? He told me a new ignitor (Electrolux 530393506 is the one used) costs $70. I told him isn't it more like $15? He said "No way it is $15!". A quick Google search gave a price range from $13 to $25. Was a little brusque and impatient with a take it or leave it attitude. He also got annoyed when I tried to watch what he was doing to replace the ignitor, and spoke loudly, "I can't work if you are watching like that." I asked him why not, and he could not give an answer. He was just removing some screws and nuts at the time.

Dryer stopped working late yesterday evening. Called for help this morning. Tony immediately answered my call, we set up an appointment for later this morning and he showed up on time and fixed it as promised. All done within hours. Well done.

Prompt return call within 1 hour to inquiry via Angies. Made service call within 4 hours. Problem resolved within 5 hours elapsed time. Friendly and professional tech named Tony.

Shortly thereafter and while I was cancelling the appointment, the original company's repairman arrived to provide the service. I called Tony and left a message to cancel my appointment. He called me back, regardless of the cancellation, and offered to be available if I had any questions about the repair being done. He knew I was uncomfortable with the original company and offered his support. I know, without a doubt, I will be calling Tony the next time an appliance fails and would recommend him to anyone who asks.

Tony anticipated what was broken and stopped on the way here in order to get the part. When he first installed the fan it turned in the wrong direction. He disassembled the motor and assembled it the right way. There is no way I could have fixed the refrigerator myself even though I fix most things myself. (I am an engineer.)

Even with snowstorms and freezing weather Tony was willing to accomodate my renter and get there on a Saturday to fix the oven. He was professional and experienced.

Tony is very professional and works in a timely manner. He repaired our Whirlpool washer for 150 and explained what was wrong with it and what part he was changing. He also came by and fixed our oven which had a leak! He clearly explained what needed to be fixed and took care of it. I've used 2 other appliance repair companies in the area and they all charge pretty much the same price for the service call etc. but A Advent is the company I'll be using for all appliance repairs.

Excellent but I thought is was a little high

My garbage disposal had stopped working and I had already performed the basic actions to try to get it working: 1) Hit the reset button; 2) Rotated the cylinder using an allen wrench to confirm it was not clogged; 3) Rotated blades to confirm not clogged. I knew up front that the service call charge was $49.95 just to show up at my door. Here on Angie's list it says estimates are free but I found out that is not correct. But that was lower than another place I called which was $69.95. I chose this one because they were close by..less than a 10 minute drive. After determining the unit had failed, he offered up the price to replace the unit at $289 including parts, labor, and the standard service charge. I thought that was a bit high since I'd already checked the price of a same model replacement unit to the one I had being just $99. I mentioned that but he claimed the Kitchenaid unit he had was at least a $50 upgrade and was worth it. Because I didn't want to throw away the $49.95 service charge, I gave him the go ahead to do the install thinking I was actually getting a upgrade on the unit. While he was installing it, I checked the internet for pricing on the Kitchenaid model and it was the same...$99. My old unit had a 2 year warranty and the new one I found out had only a 1 year warranty...again where's the upgrade? Both are 1/2 hp units. He quickly installed the new unit in less than 45 minutes after he arrived and considering he only drove 5 to 10 minutes, that's a $160-$170 labor payday for less than an hour of his time. He didn't even have to bother with the remedial checks since I did them in advance on my own. Not a bad gig. Anyway, you live and you learn. I definitely would not recommend using this company based on my experience. The quality of the work seemed to fine. Can't knock the quality. But the obvious gross overcharging left a very bad taste in my mouth and I voiced that concern. He would not admit he was overstating his cost for the replacement unit.

I called on a Thursday and asked if he could come the next day. He was very nice on the phone and came at the specified time. I needed a new part that he didn't have on the truck, but he said he'd have it the next day and he'd be over to install it. He came back on Saturday with the part and installed it and the washer works fine and doesn't fill up with water. Very professsional. I have no idea if I received a great price, because I have nothing to compare it to, but he did the work quickly and left the room as it was. You can't ask for more than that!
