I called Sears repair and was pushed to purchase a service contract, which I declined because it seemed a ripoff unless one has breakdowns every year. I had to wait about a week (though to be fair, that included a three-day holiday weekend) for the technician to come out when I was available. I got an automated reminder call the night before, even though it was a holiday (July 4). The technician arrived the next day during the promised four hour window, which I wish could be a more specific time. The problem was a heat sensor; he had a replacement part in his truck. $89 diagnostic fee, $53 for part, and $80 additional labor plus tax on parts added up to the $227.61 total bill. Seems expensive for a one hour job and a small part, but the technician was very courteous, informative, and efficient.

Fast forward 102 days (Sears warranties things for 90 days) and the dishwasher is doing the same thing again! I called Sears and was transferred to 4 different representatives, all of whom informed me that I would not have to pay for this service since it was the same problem. When it came time to schedule the visit, the rep told me that it would cost $69.99 for a service fee. I told her that this was contrary to what I had been told after being on hold for a total of 1.5 hours. I asked to speak with her supervisor who maintained that I would be charged another service fee. When I asked what they could do for me in an effort to keep my business, she said that the best option was 20% off. I asked why I would pay them to come out AGAIN to fix something that they obviously did not get right the first time. She hung up. We will not be patronizing Sears again and we have purchased most of our appliances from them over the past several years. In addition to this review, I will also be reviewing them on Yelp and Facebook.

I decided not to use them. I just wanted to find out how much it would cost to do a remodel.

Installers came from "ENVY" contracted by Sears. The sales rep from Sears, Benjamin (Jamie), provided us with a very complete presentation on today's new equipment and services. Once a 'final' cost estimate was established, the rest of the work went very well, quickly, VERY professionally and by courtious and efficient installers. They were "On the Dot" on time and took no 'breaks' while working until the job was done. I've never seen anyone work so much of the day and not take a break! Since the installation, we have enjoyed COSISTENT air temp in the house, and a dramatic reduction in our electric bill. We are also delighted to see that same consistent temperature even when the outside heats up in the 90's. The old unit couldn't do that. We have already mentioned Ben (Jamie) to a couple at our church who mentioned they were thinking about a new A/C unit for their house. We are completely satisfied and very happy, not to mention COMFORTABLE!

I just called the number online and they sent somebody out here. They were quick to respond because I can't do without a drier very long. It was the very next day after I had called. He repaired it and I needed a new igniter. He did try to sell me a new one and that was a plus.
