Do not hire Sherwood Construction and Drywall Sherwood Swanson offers poor quality and non-existent customer service. During a bathroom upgrade, Sherwood removed two toilets. He broke one of the new toilets I had purchased, refused to install the second one, but offered to pay for the damages and refund my money. He then changed his mind the following day and threatened to put a lien on my house! He left me with my two bathrooms stripped of toilets, the broken toilet, and took the money I paid him!!! He did not use the proper tools/ hardware and measured incorrectly. He did not come prepared with the items necessary to perform the work. He “nickel & dimed me” regularly and would expect me to do the pick-up. He did not display the knowledge needed to complete the job. He was unsure of an easy toilet installation procedure; not even knowing if he had to turn the water off. He falsely and incompetently assessed my plumbing to be non-functioning, costing me days off from work and additional expenses. Sherwood did not listen to me or acknowledge my concerns. Instead, he repetitively talked over me to the point of yelling. Extremely disrespectful, frightening, and stressful. Sherwood did not start or finish on time. He was a “no-show” several times. He actually told me he went to work on other projects! Previously, Sherwood acknowledged his 100% complete responsibility for the damages he caused, in front of witnesses, and promised to pay me for it, but has NOT. Because of his aggressive behavior, I was forced to inform the police of his verbal abuse, especially since he did not expedite the return of my house key. Legal action is imminent.

Sherwood reviewed our job, offered his suggestions and options and also listened to our point of view and requests. The best part was after starting the job Sherwood continued to talk to us as he encountered the typical issues that arise during construction and again offering options for us to proceed. We felt well informed on what options we had and what they may cost, and why we may need to vary from our original plan/budget. He also offered options to keep the project in budget. As well as always being informed the quality of the work was top notch with attention to the little details. We did a very detailed natural stone shower and the layout was excellent! Finally as we were running short on time Sherwood went well above and beyond working 12 and 14 hour days to complete our project due to a strict deadline that we had and also worked more hours than budgeted without charging us to complete the project. when does that ever happen? 5 stars for sure!

A while back we looked into having our tub replaced. The tub fit well for the bathroom but we didn't like the color of it. We thought our only option was a full replacement. We had heard of Sherwood from a few different friends and they all had good experiences with him. We decided to give him a call for an estimate on the project. He quickly saw that we really didn't want to replace the tub and offered us a tub refacing. We hadn't heard of this before and were skeptical of it. He assured us of the strength of the product and offered us a five year warranty! He also told us we can expect the finish to last much much longer with proper care. He informed us that some tubs from manufacturers only come with a one year warranty. I hadn't known this before. So far we have followed his cleaning instructions to the letter and I can say that it has held up now for three years and looks just as good as the when he first refinished it.

The overall quality of work performed by Sherwood Construction Services was excellent! Sherwood refinished the bathtub/shower in two of my bathrooms and they look brand new! The same was done for the bathroom cabinets and vanities and the bathrooms look brand new for half the cost of having to replace everything. Sherwood built beautiful custom framework for around the bathroom mirrors which added such a nice compliment to the work. If you are thinking of remodeling your bathrooms but have a limited budget and cannot afford to replace the tubs/showers/cabinets/vanities, Sherwood can refinish them all and believe me, they will look brand new! I am extremely pleased with how everything turned out!!

I had used Sherwood Construction Services for other projects and called him in for a bathroom r-model consultation. I had been looking into redoing my whole bathroom in my town home but the quotes and time I was given would have been extremely costly and inconvenient. I only have 1 full bathroom, I couldn't have it out of service for 1-2 weeks everyone was estimating it would take. He offered me a quick and convenient alternative of tub, tile, and counter re-facing at a much cheaper rate and quicker turn-a-round time of 2 days. When I expressed my concerns with longevity of the product he addressed my concerns about the materials used and gave me a great warranty of both his work and products used. I was also a little worried about any fumes that would come from the product since I have small animals in the house. But Sherwood assured me that the fumes would be minimal, and they were. Sherwood was able to make my tub brand new, my worn out counter tops look like Corian, and gave my cabinet a fresh new look. I am extremely pleased with the new spa like look of my new bathroom. What I am most pleased about is the amount of money I saved by not doing a full bathroom re-model. I am once again impressed with his services and knowledge. I would highly recommend his company to family and friends.

Swanson Construction is located quite a distance from my residence, but Mr. Swanson made as many trips necessary to inspect the job, write/explain the contract, and complete the job. Mr. Sherwood Swanson single handedly completed the project. He is very professional, but at the same time cordial, respectful of your space, and approachable. He did all tasks expediently according to the difficulty of the task. The backsplash required a lot of time, creativity, and intricate detail and Mr. Swanson nailed it! I was required to purchase some materials and he ensured I knew what to purchase and my options. He even took a shopping trip with me for backsplash tile, because I had no clue and was unsuccessful on my own. He ensures you are aware of what he is doing, where he is in completion of the project, and he explains/ educates about unfamiliar tasks. He is flexible and will work with you to complete the task(s) as well as implement your ideas within your budget. I have been showing off my backsplash since completion. I have and will continue to recommend him to family and friends. I CAN SAY NO MORE - LOOK NO FURTHER - BIG OR SMALL SHERWOOD CONSTRUCTION WILL GET THE JOB DONE!!!!

Sherwood is very professional. His prices were right on for the ceiling install. The work took little longer than expected, which was fine considering the quality of work is great.

I experienced no problems: they were easy to deal with and professional.

Thought I purchased 3 hours of handyman services but instead it was 1 hour of 3 people 2 of which had no clue what they were doing. After being there for only an hour and performing only a portion of the work we agreed on they tried charging my wife again after I already purchased the deal. So all and all I paid them $165 to come for an hour, most of which consisted of them making excuses why they couldn't do all the work. The minimal work they did do resulted in scratching up up my hardwood floors. Expensive lesson for me, I recommend not using them for anything

His prices are reasonable, his manner professional, he knows his stuff well and I am very happy with the outcome. I will recommend his business and consider hiring him again for other household repair work.

We had about a 30ft wall that had a rock wall on it that we tore down to make new fireplace. we found Sherwood on Angie list. It was a special to have one guy for $360 for a full day..after Sherwood showed up to see the job he gave us two guys for $400 for the day. During the quote he ended up staying for long time teaching us all the the tips to drywall, painting etc.. It was seriously like HGTV episode. He is the best teacher and so such a knowledgable guy! We were very thankful for that since we took on a home renovation larger then we could handle ourselves in just a one week time frame. On the day of job Sherwood showed up with the two guys explained in detail the scope of work and then came back at end of day to check it.. It was not all the way done so for no extra money he stayed that night and came back next day to finish the walls! We enjoyed his company and we HIGHLY recommend him for anything you need help w in your home. Very honest and professional! A++ will hire again !

Sherwood was terrific! He came by for the estimate and after taking measurements he took time to hear what we wanted. He gave us some options on paint types and recommended a few brands that give the best bang for their buck. We went with Behr. He walked through the process, detailing the repairs and estimating the time required. He works by himself...no subs. He quoted six days and had the job complete in five. That included a day he had to cut short due to an emergency. He came in and worked on Saturday to make up the time. The results were breathtaking. The time and detail he applied to the repairs, trim and doors along with the top notch paint job on the walls and the house looks brand new. There were even a couple curve balls that popped up...we had two window sills that had been chewed up from a dog from the previous owners. He replaced the sills and the results are amazing. I cannot recommend Sherwood highly enough.

We are avid diyers so we use contractors infrequently. However, we ran into a brick wall trying to remove the soffits and was having a hard time finding someone to help us remove the remainder of the soffit. When Sherwood came out to give us a quote, he went over all of the options that we had including getting an electrician to move the wires or rebuilding the soffit and getting shorter wall cabinets. For the work itself, Sherwood was punctual and did excellent work. The soffits looked better than they had previously and he was on budget. We definitely will be using him for our future projects.
